Do Isohunt torrents contain viruses?

NEVER trust software you download. For example, a downloaded bittorent client added a toolbar i EXPLICITLY asked not to have AND required a system restore to eliminate it. (the clue was that the download of a torrent i HAD NOT REQUESTED was proceeding while i could NOT google).

NEVER trust software you download.

(NOTE: the original answer said something along the lines of "bittorrent client ok, but you can get a virus from things you download".... why did you trust the original bittorrent client download?)

What are some positives of plagiarism?

The only positive is that it's a quick way for a lazy cheater with no original thought to lie and pretend that the words and insight provided by someone else were thought of by them.

What are the controversy of intellectual property rights?

I see it as a partly a definition problem. The controversy is what is intellectual property? If you write a book or a script or make a painting it is your intellectual property, ie you have a copyright. So what is the problem? The problem is that some people see all information/knowledge as public domain. They seem to not be aware that people make their living writing. If I write a book and you copy it and sell it or publish it for free, because you believe all information is public domain you are taking food from my children's mouths!

The problem is really how far to you go. Can you protect a sentence? Or a web page or an image?

The people against intellectual property and copyrights are in a fantasy communist socialist world that does not exist and cannot exist. The fall of Russia proved that. People need incentive: working and simply getting bread and butter for hard work is not enough. So if you do not pay people for their hard work they will not work so hard or at all. You think that Mozart, or Beethoven, Sir Conan Doyle or Shakespeare would write, if they never made any money and were starving? Not likely. Yes they would write some because they like it, but you would never see it!

So the only controversy is the weird people that get paid for 9 to 5 jobs and do not create intellectual property, except for their bosses. You think any of them would write a book and put it in public domain while having their home taken from them, not likely!

There seem to be some straw men, and perhaps other fallacies, in the previous contributor(s) argument which neither describe the controversies surrounding intellectual property rights nor articulate their own position well.

While the domain of intellectual property is rather extensive, in legal, political and ethical terms, the argument can be boiled down to essential elements:

Are information and ideas property?

And more fundamentally:

What is property?

These are rather grandiose issues which have been debated for centuries, if not millennia.

In this context, does the producer possess a monopoly on ideas or, once an idea is published, does it enter into public domain.

One of the most poignant quotes on the matter comes not from the pen Marx or Engels or any of their followers, as others above would believe, but from Thomas Jefferson:

"If nature has made any one thing less susceptible than all others of exclusive property, it is the action of the thinking power called an idea, which an individual may exclusively possess as long as he keeps it to himself; but the moment it is divulged, it forces itself into the possession of everyone, and the receiver cannot dispossess himself of it. Its peculiar character, too, is that no one possesses the less, because every other possesses the whole of it. He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. That ideas should freely spread from one to another over the globe, for the moral and mutual instruction of man, and improvement of his condition, seems to have been peculiarly and benevolently designed by nature, when she made them, like fire, expansible over all space, without lessening their density at any point, and like the air in which we breathe, move, and have our physical being, incapable of confinement or exclusive appropriation. Inventions then cannot, in nature, be a subject of property."

If a student submitted a paper that looked WAY beyond their grade's writing level but there was no proof of plagiarism and no previous work from the student to compare it to what would a teacher do?

If that's really his work, he can defend it. The teacher should conduct a defense where in he/she asks his/her students about their work. The teacher should also look forward to the student's future work. If the student cannot do the same and/or better on a similar topic it could be plagiarism.

Where did Christianity originated?

Christianity originated in the city of Jerusalem in present-day Israel. The founder of Christianity, Jesus Christ, was born in the small town of Bethlehem, just a few miles southwest of Jerusalem. He was raised in the town of Nazareth in the region of Galilee, about one hundred miles north of Jerusalem. However, prophecy demanded that the Messiah come to Jerusalem, riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey" (Zechariah 9:9). The New Testament records Jesus riding into Jerusalem and only a few days later being crucified there. Two days later, on the third day, Jesus was raised from the dead. Jesus told his apostles to wait in Jerusalem for the sending of the Holy Spirit. Forty-nine days after his resurrection, on the Day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit fell on the apostles as Peter preached the first public gospel sermon. All this is recorded in Acts chapter two. From its birth, with three thousand baptisms of the first day, the church rapidly grew in Jerusalem, later spreading to Judea, Samaria and Galilee in the following few years. Once the first non-Jews were baptized (Acts 10) the church rapidly spread outside what were traditionally Jewish lands into all the Roman Empire and beyond during the next three or four centuries.

A question arises, which is can we know from sources outside the New Testament whether the accounts in the New Testament are accurate history. This is a broad question, but the general consensus of historians is that the broad background of the history described above is accurate. Both the Jewish historian Josephus (late first century), as well as the avowed religious Jews who wrote the Talmud (second through fourth centuries) agreed that Jesus was a real person who did indeed die in Jerusalem. All the evidence we have points toward the fact that the earliest preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ included the central teaching of his resurrection in Jerusalem. Therefore, it can be stated with confidence that the Church of Jesus Christ (Christianity) began in Jerusalem.

Is Miley Cyrus being sued for 4 billon dollars?

On February 12, a Los Angeles Asian-American woman, Lucie J. Kim, announced that she filed a $4 billion class-action lawsuit against pop singer Miley Cyrus, accusing her of racism and other claims. The lawsuit was based on a photo that Miley Cyrus posed in. The photo shows Miley Cyrus and her friends pulling their eyes down; clearly mocking the eyes of Asians and Asian-Americans. That can be seen by the fact that an Asian is the center of the photo; he is the only one who does not have his eyes pulled down. The lawsuit includes in the class all Asian-Americans who reside in Los Angeles County, the place where the photo was taken. The photo and additional information can be found at the Related Linksbelow.

Yes. Most schools will have some sort of punishment, wheather if it is a zero on the paper, or whatnot, but unintentional plagiarism is still plagiarism nonetheless. And from the teacher's perspective, unintentional plagiarism looks a whole lot like intentional plagiarism.

What are some ways to curb procrastination?

procrasination is the thief of time. dont think about doing something, just go ahead and get it done, I have a friend, yes a friend - not me!, that procrastinates. This person bought a book on procrastination that was going to solve all his procrastination issues. The problem? He never "got around to it"! My view of this situation is that the book was overwhelming and there was just too much information. My friend was stopped in his tracks due to the shear volume of the book. So here is my solution for procrastination. Start off small. Instead of making huge changes to your lifestyle try to modify your actions a little bit each day. Making small, realistic changes can ward of frustration and tends to become part of your routine. It's like if you went on a diet. Drastically changing your diet overnight may work for a few days, but then you will go back to your old ways out of frustration, boredom, or just plain angst. The first thing you can do is make a list of what you want to accomplish each day. Give yourself 5 minutes at the most to work on this list. You should NOT have list making become your new procrastination technique! Take a look at your list. Often times we try to put too much on our plates. Cross off the items that don't need to be done that very day. Cut down your list until you have just the essential tasks that need to be completed. Rank the list of essentials with your preference for them. Write things like "easy to do" or "ugh - I don't want to do this". Take the tasks you prefer least and do those FIRST! Why? It gets them out of the way. Then continue through your list so that you end with your most preferred task. Pat yourself on the back each day as you check off items on your list. Tell others about your list so that you have accountability. Accountability can be a great motivator. Hmmm... Let me think about it... Answer:

I have a private rule: When I know I need to do something I wait until I'm ready and then I count to 3 in my head. Once I reach 3, I get up and do what needs done. I never-ever break the rule. It really works and has for some years....

Write a program that defines symbolic constants for all of the days of the week. Create an array variable that uses the symbols as initializers. Comments are a must. For this part, you may not need to put any working code in .code segment. Initialization should be enough. 1. Comments are a must. 2. Plagiarism would automatically qualify for 0. You just have to submit the TWO (2) ".asm" files and they MUST compile
