The large panel under the steering wheel column, needs to be removed to access the turn signal flasher. There are about 6 Philips head screws that secure this panel. Once screws have been removed, the panel will pull out easily, rest it on the floor. The flasher relay is located up to the right of where the panel has been removed. It is not mounted onto a block, the flasher and its receptacle dangle from 2 wires. So, it may be tucked in behind the climate control panel. My vehicle had it dangling in plain sight, but if not the case for you, a flash light may come in handy. The part, which I assume is original, is silver (aluminum), and cylindrical.
The turn signal flasher, and hazard flasher, are identical parts (2 separate identical parts) which is contrary to the online auto parts catalogs I have checked. The hazard flasher is located, as stated in the owner's manual, below the fuse panel, just look from the floor board upward.
The part is a "552" flasher.
On my 1992 it is located behind the glove box,... LOL IDK why!
But I had to replace it and it was a little too difficult for a common job.

Also try right behind the climate control part, the plastic around the radio just pops out, pop it out & look right behind there at the top (that's where mine was), it was very easy to get to & to change.
i an not 100% sure on this one, but i am pretty sure that under the bonette there is a black fuse box as is under my wife's corolla. there are fuses for interior lights and a few others. there is a diagramme showing which one does what, otherwise, near your feet kick panel just inside the front doors. . Carl.
It's the "dome" fuse in the fuse box located under the hood. I had an electrical short in that harness and it caused the radio, clock, dome light, and the REAR RUNNING LIGHTS (?!?) to stop working. After replacing the fuse several times i fixed the problem by replacing the fuse with a self-resetting circuit breaker for less than $10. The only additional mod i needed was to allow for the addition necessary headroom required by the larger component.
I own the nxt year's model, but if the '89 is anything like the '90, then this might work for you. The alternator is located underneath the air conditioner compressor. This is on the left hand side of the vehicle if you are looking at the car with the hood up. The compressor has all manner of tubes coming off of it with pressure valves on the tubes, and a belt hooked to it. Directly underneath the compressor is the alternator. The alternator has a drive belt attached to it and a single cable attached to the body that splits off four ways. Detatch the cable. then, at the front of the alternator (towards the front of the car), there is a bolt tyhat needs to come off. loosen the bolt and take it out; the alternator should shift downwards, giving you enough play to take the drive belt off. once you remove the drive belt, there is a bolt that needs to come off of the other side (towards the rear of the vehicle) of the alternator. loosen this bolt, take it off. and be careful to get all of the rubber washers in case they fall off, there are two. your alternator should now be removed from the chassis, and you can take it out of the car. I took my oil filter off of my car to let the alternator off more easily; just do whatever works. Then check what model your alternator is and buy a new one. reverse the steps to put the thing back in.
It's a 10 amp fuse, but, at least on my '94 model, it's in position 15, which is on the far right, one down from the top. the number on the fuse is ten
You do not need to remove the dash.
Take out the ash tray (by pressing down the lever as you pull it out)
Starting at the sides, pull firmly on the plastic trim through the ash tray opening.
The trim will start to pop off.
Be careful not to pull to hard, as the trim is attached by small plastic tabs with metal clips on the end you may break them and not be able to get the trim piece back on.
There are two on the bottom, two in the middle and two at the top (Will vary on car package).
Once you pull it off, you'll see the two bolts holding the radio in.
Remove these two bolts and slide the radio out.
TIP: When installing the new radio, try to find a harness adapter. It will make installation easier and cleaner.
If at any time you cannot purchase an adapter, cut the wires 2 to 2 1/2 inches from the plug the is in your dash.
When you sell the car in the future you may want to replace the stock radio back into the car.
By cutting 2 to 2 1/2 inches from the plug you can re attach it for the stock radio.

Under the dash, driver seat side of the parking brake.
you need a 10 amp (red) fuse for the radio. the fuse is located in the top right fuse corner of the fuse panel. it is marked radio underneath the fuse.
20 amp square 2 prong fuse
I did this on a 1993 Sundance, but it was a while ago. Basically just take the plastic off around the steering wheel column and start taking it apart. It seemed like most things just required one or two sizes of Torx screwdrivers. I did get to a point where I wasn't sure what to do next. I then went to the local Plymouth dealership to ask them what to do as well as get a new ignition switch cylinder. They told me what to do, but it was exactly what I was planning on doing next anyway. It was all pretty straight forward. If you get the new cylinder, it will help you figure out what pieces to take apart. The dealership did say to come back with my old cylinder and let them put in the pins for my particular key in the new one. They didn't charge anything to put in the pins, but it cost $87.00 for the ignition switch cylinder. It still seemed cheap enough to me. It was a little tricky getting the cylinder put in correctly. The cylinder will go in a couple different ways. I think the way that is easiest to get the cylinder in, and the easiest to do, won't let the key turn all the way around. You have to get things in just the right position to get it to work. This meant getting things turned a way that was difficult to get the cylinder in. You could ask them at the dealership, but you probably have to try it first to see what I mean. By then, you will probably have it in. Good Luck
Can be found in your owner's manual or under the hood on a placard. Most plug manufacturers sell "Pre-Gapped" plugs. Go to your local parts dealership and purchase ones for your specific car, there will be no need for gapping. Edited by Russell G.
first you take the fender off the front (only if its the front door) on the side your working on, once its off you will see the hinges and take the bolts off (make sure window is down door shut and that you have someone to hold the door up). all you have to do after that is take the door off by opening it or sliding it off.
Some thermostats have an arrow embosed on the one of the legs pointing toward the radiator. Generally speaking, the side with what looks like a spring and cylindrical bulb should be immersed in the heated water from the engine. Since the water in the hose attached to the radiator is not heated by the engine, this would be the wrong side. Also, on my Sundance (2.2L engine), the thermostat fits only in the correct orientation (try a dry fit first). Spring into engine.
There is no reset button for fuel. Ford has them but not Chrysler products.
The thermostat is on the top side of the engine. Follow the hose from the radiator to where it goes connects to the engine. The housing may have the coil bolted on to the outside, depending upon the model. On the top side of the housing is an Allen screw, which should help identify it, plus the temperature sensor is on it as well. The housing must be removed to change out the thermostat. The set screw must also be removed during refilling the system to allow air to escape.
If there isn't much gas left in the tank (like, a quarter of a tank) then you can jack the front of the car up in the air before you undo the bolts. With the gas tipped back, you might be able to change the pump out without spilling anything. Keep a bucket handy though!
buy a chilton repair manual at a auto parts store- all diagrams are in that book
this is what I know about my Plymounth (1990 Sundance): 1. You must remove the side panel by removing the armrest (3 Screws). 2. remove the black placing by pushing to the left and lifting, 3. remove the side by inserting a screw driver under it and and podping the clips (careful you need the clips when you replace the side panel. 4. remove the speaker by unplugging the clip, 5. look at the left side of the window there should be two lack plastic thing that I will call wings. If these are broken the window will not stay in the track and you need a new window. 6. The windows track appears to be in the door frame. You will need another person to assist you, 7. If the wings are missing or the window is broken go to a junk yard where you can take out he window and do so. This is a great learning experince you will use to replace the window in your car. 8. There is a big nut assembly holding the window and this and the track appear to be the only things holding the window in place. (BE VERY CAREFUL!!!) you can break the glass by loosening it in the wrong direction or screwing it in too tight. 9. Now one person sit in the drivers seat facing the window with the door open. 10. the person in the car seat will slowing rise the window lift it in place by putting their hand in the door and also clowily cranking the up. perso numbe two will insert a flat blade screw driver in the track and gently by turning the screw driver pop the wings into the track. 11. replace the speaker, screw, door panel and arm. Done.
the problem is likely in the guage cluster itself because you are getting a good signal from the senser to make the speedo work
I believe the flasher is up in, under the dash, to the right of the steering column. If it is, the best means to get to it is to remove the bezel for the radio and heater controls. At this point, depending upon exactly where it is, either the radio or heater control package must be slid out so you can reach the flasher. Not the most convenient place to put it.
Sometimes. Depends on the vehicle and the year. On my 1990 model, the fuel pump is in the tank. You can check yours by looking at the fuel tank from underneath the left (or right) rear of the car. The tank is located forward of the rear axle. The portal for the fuel tank which includes the the mount for the fuel pump (internal to the tank) is located in the center of the upper rear side of the tank. Tubes and electrical converge there, too.
I just replaced the headlight bulbs on a 94 Sundance. It's very easy and doesn't require any tools. Pop the hood, and unscrew the bulb from the back of the light. You may have to wiggle it as there is a gasket around the base. Once out remove the bulb from the connection. This includes the black plastic casing. You should notice a clasp near the bottom of the casing, just lift up and pull the bulb and casing free from the wire. the replacement bulb just snaps on in the same way. DO NOT TOUCH THE BULB WITH YOUR BARE HANDS as oil from your fingers can cause and uneven distribution of heat and pop the bulb. I didn't believe it and found myself buying another bulb.
In The Fuel Tank
By diagram, if you are refering to the Emissions Control label located on the under side of the hood, it is only good for telling you what your timing (x degrees before top dead center (BTDC)) should be, given the engine you have. Haynes sells a service manual (about $17.00) that does a pretty good job of explaining how to go about setting the ignition timing on your engine, including descriptions of where the timing marks are for your engine and how to perform the timing adjustments.
If it's like mine press "set" then press "sel" and use the volume knob to change the hours, then press "sel" again and use the volume knob to change the minutes.
It's on the exhaust system just behind the engine. The easiest way to get to it is to go from underneath the car.
