What is the stock top speed limiter for a 1994 Pontiac firebird?

On my 1991 Firebird 305 TBI the computer shuts down acceleration after 110 mph. I would assume it is probably the same for a 1994.

What would cause your 1994 Firebird 3.4 V6 to downshift one gear then shift right back up when you are holding a steady speed?

I'm assuming your in an automatic transmission. The only thing that i can think of is your in the rough range where you transmission thinks it needs to shift then doesn't or vise versa. Check gear ratios and timing.

How do you fix a coolant leak in a 1992 Pontiac firebird it leaks through to to passengers floorboard?

if you want to fit a new one you need to locate and remove the old one, most of the cars the little radiator is located in the rear of the heather control, is a medium difficult job to get that done but you don't need a big brain to do it. if you don't want to fit a new one you only need to find 2 hoses in front of the engine compartment { in the lower part of the engine} you see 2 hoses leading to the inside of the vehicle, you must remove the 2 hoses and connect a little piece of pipe to une the 2 hoses. be carefull do not block the hoses, the water need to circulate trougth the hose to the block of the engine.!! if one of the hoses is big enought you can take the short one out and fit the other end of the long one in where's the short one been . is like make an U with the hose. the problem is the heater now doen's have hot air for winter, but you can do that in summer because you never use that in summer. and no more leaks in the passenger floorboard... I hope this may help u. and a hope u understand what im saying is because my English is no very good. cheeeerrrrssss. bye.

AnswerI bought a 92 firebird that also leaked fluid onto the passenger floor board. I had to replace the heater core and that took care of the problem. Just buy a repair manual that will walk you thru the steps and put aside a whole day to get the job done. Now mine is fine. Good luck..

What causes a 1973 Pontiac 350 engine to backfire through the exhaust?

A large backfire is most likely caused by a bad spark plug or plug wire. Unburned air and fuel pumped into the exhaust will often be ignited by the other cylinders still burning exhaust gases. Also check your ignition timing, if it is late and you have a rich mixture you can get a backfire. An exhaust leak will let air enter the exhaust under deceleration and cause a "popping" sound.

go to the public library they have a ton of service manuals there i currently have 1 from the library. tells you every step for the 3.4, 3.8 and 5.7 so if ur looking to do a 350 swap just follow the remove for the 3.8 and the install (with some adjustments, like add different mounting brackets and tranny cuz i dont think they match up)

Engine code for a 1999 firebird Pontiac code number p0300?

P0300 Diagnostic Code - Random Misfire

Symptoms.
Engine may stumble or miss
Engine may be hard to start
you may notice no issues

Cause
Failing spark plugs or spark plug wires
Bad coil or coil pack
Failing oxygen sensor(s)
Bad fuel injector or more than one
Stuck exhaust valve
Bad catalytic converter
EGR valve or valve passage clogging
Bad camshaft position sensor
Bad PCM or ECM

The Fix
Best first action is a tune up, new plugs, wires, inspect all hoses and wire connections then reset the code. If it returns you will need to narrow it down to a system, coils and coil packs should be tested, catalytic converters for function ( do you smell rotten eggs?). A misfire that jumps cylinders could indicate a lean condition, do you have any other codes along with the 300? this will help clue you in to the source, check valve function to make sure they are opening and closing fully.
This is probably pone of the most difficult codes to troubleshoot, so start with the basics and work your way into the more expensive options, in many cases a good old tune up solves the problem, back it up with a fuel system cleaning and see where you stand.
