Somewhere towards the rear of the headlight assembly, there is a T15(I believe) TORX bit. The up/down angle should be directly behind the main lens assembly, and the left/right angle should be more towards the signal lenses. This applies to a 97 GP, but should be applicable. It requires an "E8" Torx SOCKET (about $3), my Torx bits wouldn't fit the adjuster. I've only found it in 1/4" drive, but that's just about right, cuz a 1/2" drive would be a tight fit for the L/R adjustment.
How do tough is it to replace a power steering pump in a 97-2002 Grand Prix GTP?
Getting to the pump is the hard part, removal is easy.
- Remove the diagonal brace, battery and coolant recovery tank if located on the passinger side Getting these out of the way create working room.
- Remove the serpentine belt or belts if supercharged.
- Located the power steering pump and pump out as much fluid as you can with a hand cranked or electric oil change pump.
- The pump is attached to the block with two bolts that are accesses through holes cored in the power steering pump pulley. Remove the two bolt and pull the pump away from the block (toward the wheel well).
- Disconnect the hydraulic lines and the pump is in your hands.
- Reverse the procedure for installation and fill the pump to the "cold" level on the dip stick.
- Reinstall the coolant recovery tank, battery and diagonal brace.
- Start the engine and turn the steering wheel from lock to lock 5 times and recheck and adjust pump fluid level if necessary.

I'm not very transmission "savvy," but until an expert comes along to provide a better answer, I offer the following thoughts to get you started. The limited info in your question suggests that you have a very MAJOR problem: Badly slipping clutches inside your transmission. Once the clutches begin to slip, they can't recover ["get a grip"] until the input power is removed, which you accomplish by by "backing off of the accelerator, or stopping the engine. You really need a professional to check this out, and make the necessary repair [unfortunately, probably a very expensive transmission overhaul or best, a total rebuild]. You MAY [and I STRESS the may] be able to stretch JUST A LITTLE more life [use] out of your transmission IF you drive it VERY CAREFULLY, by being very gentle in the application of power, NO heavy foot on the accelerator!!! It MAY also help to reduce the problem, if you have the fluid and filter replaced, and the clutch bands adjusted. BUT, with your transmission as far gone as your question suggests, this MAY NOT WORK OR LAST very long, and therefore be a very bad WASTE OF MONEY. You really do need professional help on this issue.

Make sure the rubber ring that comes with the new thermostat is seated properly in the outside groove. Replace housing and engine cover. You're done!
