This will turn off the beep but the light will still blink.

1) Turn the Car 'ON', but do not start the engine (Leave your foot off the brake). Cycle your trip reset knob until it reads ODO. Turn the ignition back off. Wait a couple of seconds. 2) Make sure seat belt is not fastened 3) Turn the ignition back on, do not start the car (Leave you foot off the break) As soon as you see everything light up, press and hold the trip reset knob and do a long 12 second count. 4) Keep your finger on the trip reset knob. Fasten your seat belt, as soon as you fasten your seat belt, you should see the ODO display go from XXXX miles to "b-on". At that time take your finger off the trip reset knob and press it again. It should cycle to "b-off". You should be all set and turn the ignition off and unfasten your seat belt.

The filter is on the passenger side at the bottom rear of the engine. It is a paper filter inside a permanent black plastic screw in cover.

Pontiac recommends the use of 5-30 weight oil. I use fully synthetic Mobil One high mileage (because I have more than 75K on car) or Valvoline. If you use synthetic, then you should always stay with synthetic as returning to conventional oil may cause issues with seals and gaskets.
Dealer specs call for 5W30 but I use 5W40.

I just looked high and low for mine and finally found it. It is in a terrible spot compared to most cars. If you lay on your back and crawl under the steering wheel facing up it will be on the right side of the steering column. (Should take yoga before attempting.) Make sure to have a flash light as it is impossible to see once you twist your way under there!! There is a black cover with very faint gold lettering indicating the fuses. Your manual will have a better description of what fuse is what. Also, being that you are in such a tight spot you may want to have a small fuse puller with you. I did not see one in this fuse box so i had to crawl back out and get the puller out of the fuse box in the engine compartment. (They look like little white tweezers...you will only see the top of them). I don't know how Pontiac, ok Toyota would expect you to do this on the side of the road somewhere, but with a little bit of effort you can get it done. What a P.I.T.A.!!!

Right next to the driver's seat on the floor, there is a small pull tab. This releases the cover of the gas tank.

ECM stands for "Engine Control Module" and is the generic term for the computer that controls engine functions. On some models, this same computer also controls the transmission, and is referred to as the "PCM" or "Powertrain Control Module".

The first step is removing the tires from the vehicle. Then the brake calipers will need to be removed. Once the calipers are off, take the cap off the area in the center of the rotor. This will give you access to the nut holding the rotor on. Removing the nut on the spindle gets the rotor off.

Remove "vibe" plastic cover from the engine. Unscrew mountings for the spark plug wires and wire harness tie downs, I believe the bolts are all 10mm. Remove spark plug sockets and using a 14mm deep socket with a rubber insert to stick onto the spark plug and unscrew. Ignition system is a coil system so no need to look to replace a cap and rotor.

not sure about 2004 Pontiac, but i have 1995 Nissan maxima that i couldn't get rear brake caliper pistons to go in, found out they actually are threaded inside caliper so that piston has to be "screwed" in, can't just push it in with c-clamp. there's a tool you can buy to do it, but i made one myself with a 7/8 socket that i grinded down to have four points that matched up with the notches on the piston head. even then, it was very difficult, it doesn't screw in easily. if your piston head is flat faced and has notches on it (3,6,9, & 12 o'clock positions on mine), it's probably that kind. good luck.

I have an '04 Vibe. Easiest method is to buy a brake pad spreader from an auto parts store. They are usually run $6-10. Its just a long screw with a twist knob at the end and two metal plates. You fit the plates into your brake caliper and turn the knob until the piston is pushed back in.

I used a bend paper clip to remove a stuck CD. You need to unfold the paperclip to a straight wire, fold 1/16 inch to 90 degrees on one end and the other an inch @ 90 degrees--this is your handle

Have the car turned off, use a flashlight and put the short end in the player. You should be able to see the side of the CD. Slide the modified paperclip over the CD and catch the center hole. Once you get it, just pull it out. It will come out without much effort. You might very well scratch the disc, but oh well.

These 6 disc players are quite finickey. I can't get mine to work all the time. But, you should be able to pull the disc, good luck.
