You are incorrect. It does indeed have an O2 sensor. Purchase a repair manual at most parts stores, ( around $12 ) for detailed instructions on this and many other repairs. Both yokes (rear end and transmission) are bolted in so you must removal four blots around each yoke 17mm bolt and 15mm nut in order to removal drive shaft.

the center drive shaft support is bolted in with four 12mm bolts.

after all hardware has been removed the drive shaft slides out. easier to pull out from the front of the drive shaft loop.

2nd, clamp the feed pipes with screwdown pipe clamps (from your friendly halfords) or drain down the system (better)

3rd, undo jubilee clip on hose attached to valve passing thru bulkhead inside the engine bay and remove hose

4th, withdraw valve thru bulkhead and remove jubilee clip on internal hose

refitting is reverse of removal

on my 1988 Volvo 740 turbo its right on top of the steering colum a bit to the left. It looks like it once had a cover of some sort but now only has 3/4 of a black plastic square with a small bulb in the middle. I didnt think it was the hazard light button, but you have to press it HARD. Hope this helps.
