You said it right there, they are transversely mounted. The engine is made to bolt up to a front wheel drive transmission and all accesories are driven differently.

I know RX7 FD wheels will fit on a Mk II MR2 but I don't know if the 14" wheels from the '92 MR2 will clear the brake calipers on the RX7.

Auto Trans fluid can only be checked with the engine running and at normal operating temperature, otherwise you will get a false reading.

With the engine running, and the gear selector in Park, and the hand brake fully engaged and the wheels chocked (this prevents the car from running you over), pull the dipstick marked "TRANS" or something similar, wipe with lint free rag, then reinsert the dipstick until it stops and immediately remove it and check the level on the stick.

If the level is low, add only enough fluid to reach the "ok" marking ... overfilling an auto trans is just as harmful as not having enough fluid in it. Add a little at a time, checking the level often.

First remove the negative battery cable. Relieve the fuel pressure from the fuel injection assembly. You must remove the fuel injection assembly to get the coils out. The assembly is anchored to the manifold by 2 screws on each side of the motor. Once you get the screws off you can move the assembly up or away enough to get to the coils. I would remove the wiring from the injectors. (BE CAREFUL NOT TO MIX UP THE WIRES. DO ONE AT A TIME) The coils are anchored to the manifold by one bolt on each coil. (7mm) Gently pull the coil up and disconnect the wires. From there you should be able to put a spark plug socket into the hole and unscrew the plugs.

First, unhook the battery, block the wheels and jack up the left side of the car. Crawl under and look straight up from the axle; you will find the clutch lever on the side of the transmission. Unhook it. Then open the engine compartment and unhook the accelerator cable from the carb.

Get someone to push the clutch pedal down 1/2" with their hand, and run the nut all the way up to the clutch arm, then put on the jam nut.
