How far apart should dating ages be?
In highschool, the general range of dating is usually within a year or two of each other because of maturity levels. By nature boys mature slower and girls mature faster, so girls are more likely to try and date up with a guy who they see as more mature. Guys can tend to look for a girl equal in maturity to his and will find it in one younger. This is not a strict code but happens to be a general trend. There also comes into conflict the statutory rape law which can be a problem if the couple is sexually active. After highschool the age gap widens immensely. While most couples will usually be with a few years of each other, age gaps of 10-20 years are becoming more and more common.
Is there a connection between wind turbines and autism in children?
Wind turbines do not cause autism. Anything, wind turbines included, that produces a continuous noise, can disturb some people, whether they are autistic or not.
How does a windmill turn wind into energy?
Wind Mills are used to pump water from the earth. Although some wind mills were retrofitted to produce electricity.
Wind turbines have large blades that are designed to create lift to turn a rotor. In large scale turbines the rotor usually connects to a gearbox. The gearbox will then be connected to a generator. The generator similar but much larger is like the alternator in a car, produces the electricity. Then the electricity goes into a transformer then to the grid. There are a lot of different designs of wind turbines and some might not have all these components but they all have generators.
Wind farm is a misnomer because it produces electricity by wind but it's not a farm which we grow winds, it's a field.
How fast do helicopter roter blades spin?
The speed of helicopter rotor blades through the air is limited by the speed of sound (approx. 760Mph) at which point the pressure wave disrupts the airflow at the blade tip (which is moving through the air faster than the blade root). So the larger the rotor diameter (the longer the blades), the lower the allowable RPM (the slower they 'spin')
Is a windmill a simple machine?
yes it is a simple machine...
the wind blowing on the wheel and axle makes it a simple machine
Why the Windmills in Ireland moves in opposite direction?
They don't. They way windmills turn is based on their design and the prevailing winds where they are built. Windmills in Ireland are no different than others in the world.
Who made the first windmill and where?
The first recorded windmill design originated in Persia around A.D.500-900,the inventor is called Abeu Roller (I am not sure the spelling is right)
What US department has a windmill on its seal?
The Department of Energy. The Windmill is accompanied by a Hydroelectric generator, lightning bolt, sun, oil derrick and the symbol for Atomic energy.
Why is it that when water is opened in a sink it always turn clockwise?
It doesn't always turn clockwise (assuming you're in the southern hemisphere), that's just an old myth based on the effect of Coriolis force on large scale things such as air masses, but it plays no part on water in a sink or toilet, which are many, many times smaller than a cyclone.
What are the basic principles of electricity?
-Opposite electrical charges always attract each other, and Like electrical charges always repel.
-An INSULATOR is any material that inhibits (stops) the flow of electrons (electricity). Insulator material includes glass, rubber, and plastic.
-A CONDUCTOR is any material that easily allows electrons (electricity) to flow.
Conductor material includes copper, silver and gold.
-Any material with exactly 4 free electrons in the outer orbit are called SEMICONDUCTORS.
A semiconductor is neither a conductor or insulator.
semiconductor material includes carbon, silicon, and germanium.
These materials are be used in the manufacturer of diodes, transistors, and integrated circuit chips.
-Electron Theory states that current flows from NEGATIVE to POSITIVE. Electrons move from atom to atom as they move through the conductor towards positive.
-Conventional theory, also known as HOLE THEORY, states that current flows from POSITIVE to NEGATIVE. Protons or the lack of electrons (the holes) move towards the negative. (Current flow direction in Hole Theory is the opposite of that in Electron Theory.)
-Voltage is the electrical force that moves electrons through a conductor. Voltage is electrical pressure also known as EMF (Electro Motive Force) that pushes electrons. The greater the difference in electrical potential push (difference between positive and negative), the greater the voltage force potential.
-A Voltmeter measures the amount of electrical pressure difference between two points being measured. Voltage can exist between two points without electron flow.
-Voltage is measured in units called VOLTS.
-CURRENT is the quantity or flow rate of electrons moving past a point. Current flow is also known as amperage, or amps for short.
-An AMMETER measures the quantity of current flow. Ammeters are placed in series (inline) to count the electrons passing through it.
-Current flow is measured in units called Amperes or AMPS.
-Two common effects of current flow are Heat Generation and Electromagnetism.
HEAT: When current flows, heat is generated. The higher the current flow the greater the heat generated. An example would be a light bulb. If enough current flows across the filament, it will glow white hot and illuminate to produce light.
ELECTROMAGNETISM: When current flows, a small magnetic field is created. The higher the current flow, the stronger the magnetic field. An example: Electromagnetism principles are used in alternators, ignition systems, and other electronic devices.
-Resistance is the force that reduces or stops the flow of electrons. It opposes voltage. Higher resistance will decrease the flow of electrons and lower resistance will allow more electrons to flow.
-Resistance is measured in units called OHMS.
-Two basic types of Electricity classifications:
STATIC ELECTRICITY is electricity that is standing still. Voltage potential with NO electron flow.
DYNAMIC ELECTRICITY is electricity that is in motion. Voltage potential WITH electron flow. Two types of Dynamic electricity exist:
Direct Current (DC) Electron Flow is in only one direction.
Alternating Current (AC) Electron flow alternates and flows in both directions (back and forth).
-Electricity can be created by several means: Friction, Heat, Light, Pressure, Chemical Action, or Magnetic Action.
In an automobile the battery produces electricity through chemical action, and the alternator produces electricity through magnetic action.
Friction creates static electricity.
Heat can act upon a device called a thermocouple to create DC.
Light applied to photoelectric materials will produce DC electricity.
Pressure applied to a piezoelectric material will produce DC electricity.
Chemical Action of certain chemicals will create electricity.
Other contributions:the principles of electricity gradually became understood. Thomas Edison helped change everyone's life -- he perfected his invention -- the electric light bulb. Prior to 1879, direct current (DC) electricity had been used in arc lights for outdoor lighting. In the late-1800s, Nikola Tesla pioneered the generation, transmission, and use of alternating current (AC) electricity, which can be transmitted over much greater distances than direct current. Tesla's inventions used electricity to bring indoor lighting to our homes and to power industrial machines.Answer 2Thomas Edison did NOT invent the electric light bulb. This was something that several inventors worked on for many years. Edison, through trial and error, found that tungsten worked good and lasted long as a filament, and was able to draw sufficient vacuum in the bulb to make it last a long time.Again, Edison primary worked on the principle of trial and error. Nikola Tesla figured out what he wanted to do, thought about and designed what he thought would work. When he built it, it usually worked.
Thomas Edison & Nikola Tesla worked in labs a few miles apart in New York. While Edison was working on his electric lamp, Tesla was working on the AC distribution system we still use today, in his lab lighted by fluorescent lamps he designed and built.
Why do windmills turn clockwise in Ireland?
A windmill turns because the blades face into the wind and are pitched (twisted) so that the air passing onto the blades pushes the blade around the pivot point. If the blade is pitched one way, the windmill will turn to CCW. If they are pitched the other way, it will turn CW.= There may be a convention or tradition or popular design in Ireland that pitches the blades so it turns CW.=
What do you need to build your own windmill?
First design the windmill then make a list of the materials required to build it. Obtain the materials and put them together according to the plan.
Which jobs pay the highest first year salaries?

What is the name of the famous holland windmill?
If you mean the Kinderdijk, there are the most windmills in a row.
But we have more windmills, they're mostly located in the middle, top and west of the Netherlands, 'cause they were used to suck away the water, so that the land underneath it could be used.
The largest windmills (of the world) are located in Schiedam. They are called Schiedamse molens They are so large because they are made out of different layers.
If you are speaking of the windmill in Holland, Michigan: the 230 year old DeZwaan windmill is located on windmill island in the city of Holland Michigan.
Why does the wind change direction?
During the day, the sun shines on the water and land and warms them both. Since land gets warmer than water faster, it heats the air above it. As the warm air above land rises, the cold air above the water replaces the warm air. The movement of air from water to land is called sea breeze. As night falls, both the land and water begins to cool down. Once again, land cools faster than water. Now, the air above the water is warmer than the air above the land. The air above the water rises. The cooler air from the land moves to the water to replace the rising warm air. During the morning, you will feel the wind blowing to the ocean to land. At evening, you will feel the wind blowing from the land to ocean. At night, you feel the wind blowing from the ocean to land.
Where are the Cacturne located for Pokemon Emerald?
You can't catch wild Cacturne in Pokemon Emerald. However, you can catch its pre-evolved form, Cacnea, in the desert of Route 111. Then raise your Cacnea to Level 32 and it will evolve into Cacturne.
What early civilizations used wagons?
The first archeological proofs (in the form of litle bronze statues) were dated in the early 3rd millennium BC from the Babylonians. Later the Greeks used the spoked whell which became more popular because it had less weight.
When do you have to operate a varicocele?
I don't believe you ever 'have to' have surgery for Varicocele. Some men choose to have surgery when it is causing them pain or when it is interfering in fertility.
Where can you get plans to build a hammer mill for milling grain?
I have the same question. I've been looking for a small hammer mill for making mesquite bean flour. The only hammer mill that I've found for home/small farm use is the Novital, made in Italy, sold in Australia for $570 delivered. On the internet you can find Amy Smith's screenless hammer mill but I have yet to see a plan clear enough to make one myself; emails to Smith have not been responded to. I think her plan was a thesis at MIT so it might be possible through interlibrary loan to get the thesis. Also, on Ebay there is an offering of 25 patents for various kinds of mills--I've just sent for the package so can't say where it includes a plan for a small hammer mill.
If you run across any good plans, let me know. Good luck. Evan Blythin blythin@hotmail.com
here is a site that has plans to build your own hammer mill if you are a hands on type
