What caused the failure of the Axis Powers?

== == For one thing, their enemies had several times their population and could therefor field far larger armies and navies. On top of that, their enemies had vastly larger, many times as large, economic and industrial capacities, thus they were able to produce an incredibly larger amount of all of the material items, weapons, ammunition, clothing, food, etc., necessary to wage war. Thus they were simply overwhelmed. In addition to that though, the allies produced much better military commanders and better trained soldiers, sailors and airmen.

How did the axis powers achieve victories in 1939 and 1940?

early Axis victoriesGerman military theory and tactics had undergone a radical change between the wars. Largerly due to the efforts of Heinz Guderian who came up with the idea of blitzkreig or lightnig war. The idea was, unlike the first world war, to mass your forces, specifically heavy high speed armour and air cover, and strike the enemy at a single point forcing a large corridor into the enemies territories. By moving armoured vehicles behind the major defenses of the enemy you can now destroy the communication and command structures of the enemy effectivley paralysing the forward defence forces which without guidance become ineffective and easily defeated.

These tactics failed to work in Russia because the Germans never pushed far enough to destroy the command and control structures of the Russians before the Russian winter came and gave the Russians time to reorganise and retaliate.

What places did the Japanese bombed during world war 2?

It depends where you place the start of World War 2. Japan had been fighting a war in China for years before the "Pacific War" started and many towns and villages were bombed there. This was the main reason the USA placed economic sanctions on Japan which precipitated the attack on Hawaii.

Japan also bombed many places such as; Pearl Harbour, various airfields and towns in the Philippines, Singapore, many parts of the Dutch East Indies (now Indonesia), Darwin (Australia), parts of Burma and Calcutta in India. Many islands in the Pacific Ocean were bombed as part of the expansion of the area held by Japanese forces. From the Aleutian Islands in the north, to Midway, Wake, Guam and further south to the Solomon Islands and Port Moresby (New Guinea).

An attempt to bomb the USA from Japan was tried using balloons which killed a woman and some children in Oregon.

Is there a building that is still standing in hiroshima from the atomic bomb?

In Hiroshima, a small community of Jesuit Fathers lived in a church house near the parish church, situated only eight blocks from the center of the bomb blast. When Hiroshima was destroyed by the atomic bomb,

all eight members of the small Jesuit community escaped unscathed, while every other person who was within a radius of roughly one and a half kilometers from the center of the explosion died immediately. The church house where the Jesuits lived was still standing, while the buildings in every direction from it were leveled.

Why was February 1943 a bad month for the Axis powers?

It wasn't totally bad, but two major losses happened early in that month. The German forces attacking Stalingrad surrendered on Feb 2, ending that battle as a major victory for the Soviets. Additionally, the US finally captured Guadalcanal on Feb 9, ending Japanese occupation there. Both losses for the Axis resulted in the Allies going on the offensive, attacking them instead of defending.

However, as mentioned, not all was bad for the Axis. German forces in Africa inflicted two defeats on the newly arriving Allied forces, including a fairly big victory at Kasserine Pass. However, this too wound up not working well for the Axis, because it caused the Americans in particular to rethink their strategies and rework their command structure. The lasting effect of the battle was it made the US Army more effective in subsequent battles.
