its the accessory fuse in my 2001 metro.. found that out when my cigarrette ligher blue the fuse and the radio didnt work... On my car it was the same fuse as the dome light. This can be found under a white cover, on the drivers side, under the dash.

This is a partial answer. It appears there are two methods, depending on the vintage of the Jetta. These methods require special tools, which are available on the web for less than $20. One method requires a "DIN" tool set, which is a pair of U-shaped rods. These tools match up with four holes at the left and the right side of the radio. The other method requires flat keys which are inserted above or below the radio. A related issue is that the radio must be reset if power is removed, such as when the radio is disconnected or the battery runs down. This is an anti-theft feature and requires entering the reset code for the specific radio. This should be a separate topic on Wiki Answers.

You need to first remove the ash tray, then remove that black trim around the radio (radio bezel). To do this take a small to medium size screwdriver and gently pry outwards - do this at the top corners first. Don't try to yank the thing off; just get them to pop loose. Then go to the bottom with your hand pull forward around the cigarette lighter side, then once that is loose do the same for the other side. Then take your screwdriver and pry in the middle of each side. Once everything is loose, gently pry the dash off. It may give you some resistance due to the age of the dash and you may need to use the screwdriver to pry other areas. Once the radio bezel is off you will see 4 nuts holding the radio in place. They are at the 4 corners. They are metric in size.

Change the mlps {aka} the nuetral safety switch or the selector switch on the transmission and that will fix the radio problem and the power steering problem it may have also.

Unfortunately the code can not be retrieved from a working radio. If you can not find the code you have to get the serial number of the radio and call the dealer for the code.

The forth or last step is to turn the power back on and see if your fix worked.

you need to make sure that you purchased the right harness for your year and model, (i have a 2005 impala and just did this about 3 months ago). make sure that you splice the right wires for each speaker into the harness that you bought for you car (NOT the CD Player Harness), note that the speakers and all the wires you need to splice will be the same colors as the ones that you are splicing them into. then you will need to install a dash CD player instillation kit, or a deck. afterwards, your CD player should be running right.

the power has been disconnected for too long of a time and the security system on your radio was activated. look in your owner's manual for a keycode to unlock it.

I am wondering the same thing. I'm in Hartford CT. Steve Harvey was not on the usual Power 104.1 this am. Instead there was so uhmmm folk sounding music on...I U need some answers...hellerrrrrr

yea i think u can i have a 98 buick century and i was told from a dude at my local car audio shop that u can either get a sound processor or an rca converter but i have yet to do it but im finna go do it tomorrow

It depends on which z100 you are talking about. There are several of them in the united states. If you are talking about WHTZ-FM (z100-new york), it plays rock, hip-hop, rap, and occasionally a few other types of music. It is located in west New York City, and is broadcasted from the empire state building. If you were talking about the one in Oregon or California or somewhere else, I can not help you. Sorry for any inconviences that may lead you to.
