The speedometer is part of the instrument cluster, and is fused with the other instruments.

The drive wheels either need to be off the ground or the drive shaft has to be removed.

Assuming you do not have the Bose system, it's actually pretty easy.

1. Pop the plastic locking mechanism off the door panel.

2. There is a 7-mm screw underneath where the the locking mechanism used to be. remove this.

3. There is another 7-mm screw just below the door handle, the one you pull when closing the door (look for the hole). Remove this.

4. There is another 7-mm screw under the bottom edge of the door panel. Remove this.

5. Pop the plastic cover around the opening handle, the one you pull up on to open the door. A thin flathead screwdriver will do the trick here.

6. Pop the triangular plastic cover off that is at the front-lower corner of the window. Start at the top because the bottom of it is a tab that slides behind the metal. If you start at the bottom you might break this tab.

7. Now just lift up on the door panel and it should slide off.

8. The next trick is unplugging all the wires. Some are simple, others a little more stubborn. Just keep in mind that they all have some snap-clip mechanism that must be pushed to release the wire connector. The trickiest one is the big connector to the power windows and locks. There is a gray lever-looking clip on it that must rotate out to release the whole connector. The spring/snap clip is located at the outermost end of this gray lever. The little door light at the lower outside corner of the door simply pulls out of the lamp housing with the bulb still attached. It is snap fit but it does not lock like the other wire connectors.

The door speakers in an 03 Silverado are component, meaning there is a mid/bass driver and a tweeter. The factory tweeter has a capacitor soldered to its leads which I think is acting like a simple high-pass filter. I wouldn't connect an aftermarket tweeter directly to it wires as they may not be filtered and could easily blow a new tweeter with low frequency signals. Definitely use a crossover with the tweeter. I bought an aftermarket mid/bass-tweeter combo that included the crossovers and it works fine. I just wired them to the wires for the factory mi/bass driver and left the factory tweeter disconnected. However, I'm thinking about reconnecting the factory tweeters just to see if I like the sound better.

Sometimes parts on a car grow old and break. Replacement trunk lid springs can be bought at car part stores. The person may have to have them special ordered if they are an older part.

Remove the handles by pushing in on the panel exposing the spring clip holding the handle to the mechanism. Remove the spring clip by pulling on it with a long nose pliers. Remove the screws holding the arm rest to the door.

With a broad bladed instrument (putty knife?), and working slowly and carefully, pry around the edges of the lining until it is free of the door.

After all the clips are disengaged pull it carefully away from the door being careful of any wires that my still be attached (if you have pwer windows).

For access to the interior of the door carefully pry out the retainers and detach the inner plastic shield.

To re-install: after first making sure you have replaced any clips that may have become detached during the process, follow the procedure in reverse.

Take the front seats out. There are two screws in plain sight at the back of the center console. Take those out. At the very front of the center console (near the firewall) there is a panel on each side. It pops off. held in by clips. Take those off. When you remove those panels you will see a screw there. Remove that screw (one on each side). On the gear shifter, pull down on the chrome piece underneath the leather covered shifter. It just slides down. You will see a horseshoe clip holding the leather piece on. Remove it. the leather piece simply lifts off. the trim around the gear shifter is held in by clips. Lift it up. There is one wire to unplug. The storage pocket is held in by clips. Pull it directly forward. It will come out. there are two screws inside the opening where the storage pocket was. Remove those. Gently lift the console up a bit. There are two wiring harnesses to unplug. Unplug those. Then remove the center console.

A body lift raises the body of the vehicle higher above the frame of the vehicle. A body lift does not raise a vehicles frame above the ground (e.g. does not increase a vehicle's ground clearance) but it may allow for the installation of larger tires.

A lift kit raises a vehicle's frame further above the axles by using larger springs (or lift blocks placed between the springs and axles). This not only allows for larger tires but it also increases the height of a vehicles frame giving it more ground clearance and better off-road performance.

Beware, lift kits and body lifts raise a vehicles center of gravity and got this reason many states have body lift and suspension lift (lift kit) limits. Check with the laws in your state to find the laws in your state before making such modifications.

You can fit a roof rack in many different ways for different vehicles. It is an easy task to replace the front bumper on 2000 Ford Ranger. Follow the below steps.

1) Take off the old bumper first, and get underneath the front end of the Ranger and find the row of 12-millimeter bolts along the back side of the top of the fender. Remove them using a ratchet and a12-millimeter socket.

2) Locate the two metal bracket arms that extend from the fender to the frame of the Ranger. There are two 14-millimeter bolts holding each bracket arm to the frame. Have someone there to hold the weight of the bumper before you remove the bolts and nuts, because the bumper will fall down once the bolts are removed. Remove them with a ratchet and 14-millimeter socket.

3) Hold the new bumper up to the Ranger's front end and guide the metal bracket arms to the frame. Line up the holes in the arms and on the frame. Insert the 14-millimeter bolts into the holes and tighten the nuts on the back side of them using the 14-millimeter socket and a ratchet.

4) Insert and tighten the row of 12-millimeter bolts along the top edge of the back side of the bumper using a ratchet and 12-millimeter socket.
