My 1999 buick Regal gs low coolant light stays even though levels are ok?

Take the coolant level sensor off the radiator & clean it out. The sensor is located passenger side under the radiator cap next to the battery. Best to pull the battery & headlight assembly. Metal retaining clip holds it into the radiator. I just took mine out for the same reason, found alot of "sludge" around the sensor probe. Cleaned it out with some sensor cleaner and soap, reinstalled, refilled the antifreeze and light is out.

That is not true, the oil pan can be removed without pulling the engine out of the vehicle. It involves alot of work. The best way is go to your local auto parts store, ask for a haynes or chiltons manual on your vehicle. This book will tell you everything you need to know about the procedure.

the drive wheel thing is a myth. both wheels pull. on a rear wheel drive car of truck many think the right wheel is the drive wheel. not true. the differential causes both wheels to pull evenly. on a rear drive the right wheel will usually spin first due to the tourque of the drive shaft. on a front wheel drive the wheel that spins first will depend on traction conditions

On my 91 its along the drivers side of the car where the fuel line runs back to the gas tank

Where is the pcv valve located on a 1990 Buick Regal?

If you have a Supercharger...It's inside. You can access it from the top. Two bolts (10mm) and nothing coming out of the top. It's completely concealed. Be carefull there's a spring inside and you will have to get a new gasket. GRRRRR.

Where do you find the computer in a 1992 Buick Regal Gran Sport?

I just finished a search for the same thing. Open the hood and on the right side above the wheel the is a fuse panel. It's under there. There is a plastic panel that comes off between the fuse panel and the engine.

Where is the fuel filter located on a 2000 buick regal?

The filter is located on the driver side of the vehicle, in front of the rear tire well about 1 foot in.

Car must be "jacked" up to remove.

Once car is jacked up, you will find the filter affixed and hanging, just past the end of the driver's side rear passenger door.

There is caution however. You should purge the system by relieving the shrader valve on the fuel line under the hood (looks like a tire valve stem).

You will also possibly have a rusted line. If line is rusted and nut will not turn with enough force considered, then you must replace the line also.

Take care to protect yourself from any gas that could spray.

You will need 2 wrenches, one to hold the filter and one to loosen the line. (5/8th's and 13/16th's) Remove plastic line from filter and discard.

What is the towing capacity of a 2012 Buick regal?

The technical answer is ZERO. GM has clearly stated that they do not recommend that this vehicle be used for towing.

Now, having said this, I do not understand why. This vehicle (like other "Premium" GM vehicles are cross platform based and the Regal uses all the same frame/power/stability as it's defunct brother the Saab 9-3. Why do you think GM is introducing Turbo engines into the lineup? They're just using Saab turbos and Opal engines in their premium lines (Lecross is the 9-5, Cadillac SRX is the 9-4x etc). The Saab 9-3 was limited not by engine size for it's towing capacity so both the 2.0T and 2.8T versions were capable of towing 3500lbs both on paper, and personally, I've done it with no problem in both 2 and 2.8's.

So, if GM has removed anything from the car then I can say maybe it should be reduced, but saying no capacity at all is crazy. This thing should have no problem towing.

How difficult is it to repair an auto AC compressor?

consider it impractical buy a rebuiltExtremely. Anyone who is not licensed to handle freon is breaking the law. The EPA and others are really tough on this. Your freon must be removed if you have any leaks or repairs to the AC system. It cannot be released to the atmosphere(HOLES in the OZONE).

Without special tools and adequate knowledge, rebuilding an A/C compressor is essentially impossible. Replacing it can also be problematic without knowledge of how to do the complete repair (replace drier/accumulator? flush system? add proper amount and type of oil?). If you don't already KNOW what you're doing, either get knowledgeable help (someone who KNOWS what he's doing, not just THINKS he knows) or have a competent shop take care of it.

There is a way to repair the compressor as long as it's not the internal gasket. Walmart carries a temporary repair kit. It should get you through the rest of the summer, and maintaining the a/c in the fall and winter is cheaper in labor because mechanics know it's not something you NEED at that time. Also, helpful hint to keep your compressor's internal gaskets in good shape in the winter, run the defrost on cold air for at least 5 minutes every day when not using the a/c that day. It uses the compressor to keep the gaskets moist... if those gaskets get too dry and crack, there is virtually NO way to repair it.

This depends entirely upon what needs to be repaired. If, for example, the electro-magnetic Clutch is faulty, you may find that replacement parts are available. Using special tools (like pulley pullers, etc.), a competent mechanically oriented person could succeed in replacing a Clutch assembly.

Sometimes, the "Shaft Seal" leaks. In this case, it is also possible to replace it---after removing the Clutch assembly

Problems that are "Internal"to the Compressor are, in general, not repairable by a "Novice". In most cases, replacement parts are NOT available. And, even if they were, it requires precision measurement equipment to ensure that the "Fits" of the precision parts are correct.

Rather than try to "Repair" a Compressor, the most common solution is to purchase a complete replacement unit. This could be an "Original Equipment" Compressor or a "Re-Manufactured" Unit that is available from quite a few "Re-Man" Enterprises. Most of these are located in Texas.

A word of CAUTION. Even if you purchase a complete replacement Compressor, it will still be "Quite a Challenge" for a "Novice" without specialized tools to swap Compressors. To Open the System, Flush the System, Ensure the Correct Type and Amount of Lubricating Oil, Evacuate the System, Charge the System and Leak Test /Performance Test the System requires significant special equipment and technical knowledge to do correctly.

The "Risks" of trying to do this yourself are quite high. The Compressor cost will, typically, be $150 to $300. Quite expensive. If the installation is done improperly, the distinct possibility exists that the NEW Compressor could fail quickly due to seizure.

In summary, the best approach to "Fixing" an A/C Compressor problem on your vehicle will generally be to have it done by someone who has real, documented, expertise in this area.

If you have further needs for information about any aspect of A/C Compressor replacement / repair you may call me at answer any auto store sells replacement compressors. most vehicles no longer use freon as suggested in first answer, most now use r-12 or r-34 adapter kits are available to change to r-34 kits with proper amount of oil and gas are available to recharge system, after you change compressor. u do NOT need to be licensed to do this just know proper amount of oil and gas to put into system

What is the location of the crank sensor on a 1991 Buick Regal?

If your standing on Passenger side under hood it is under the harmonic balancer on the right side of engine. Im not for sure but i think you have to remove the balancer to get to it. If you look on the right side of the balancer you will see the plug it pertrudes out a little bit. That's just the plug the switch is inside there. Im having to replace mine now since I broke it trying to get the Balancer off.

From Todd

The sensor is halfway down the back side of the motor down low between the transmission and the engine

its held in place with a 8mil. bolt and there is so little room to reach in to get it

The easiest way is to find someone with small hands to reach it.

the only other way is to remove the trans

this is a lot of work the latter so try the way i did it first

lots of luck

i replace mine and still no injectors

i will check the computer and the smart module next

Problem was as shorted injector

found it and now its running but got a air intake leak
