Unscrew the old filter and check to make sure the gasket came off. Wipe the mounting surface with a clean rag. (Important) Apply a light coat of oil to the new filter gasket. Screw the new filter on and tighten 3/4 turn after it makes contact with the mounting surface. (Warning) 3/4 turn, no more and no less.

Remove the wiring harness from the bottom of your 1987 Buick Regal power antenna. Remove the power antenna retaining nuts. The power antenna will come off. Reverse the process to install the new power antenna.

In the oil pan It's in the timing cover. The culprit is most likely the pickup screen in the oil pan. Take it off and clean it.

its under the windshield washer fluid tank, its not that hard to see, it sits on it's side

Knowing the firing order of a car is important when diagnosing engine problems. The firing order of a 1987 Grand National is 1-6-5-4-3-2.

It is located on the rear of the transmission. Should be round and have a vacuum hose attached to the middle of it.

I have found using a C clamp helpful in doing this. Since you will be trying to push the brake fluid back, you might need to open the bleed port while doing this.

you need to just pull the fuse out that says FP in your fuse box.

The most likely culprit is the pressure control solenoid in the transmission. The other concern would be that you have a trouble code set that hasn't caused the service engine soon lamp to come on, but is set due to something inside the trans. I would get the vehicles computer scanned to see if it has any codes set. Worst case is the trans has caused a code p1811 to set which could mean that the trans is failing which is causing the adaptive pressures to be at there max limit. Russtech67

You will need:

A jack, jackstands, various wrenches, a ratchet, extension and sockets.

First disconnect the battery.

Remove the starter wires, make sure you remember where they go. Label them with tape if you have to.

Then jack up the car, make sure you secure it with jack stands. You will have to get underneath the front of the car.

Remove the plastic splash guard for the starter, should be 3 small bolts.

That will allow you to get at the two bolts which hold in the starter. One will be a long bolt and the other will be short. You will need to use the extension to get at the one bolt.

Now that everything is unhooked you should be able to pull the starter up front the top of the engine bay.

Replace in reverse order. Good luck!

It's inside the car on the passenger side. You'll need to remove a hush panel to gain access to the motor.

Cars absorb shock by use of their suspension system. This is made up of both the springs and shock absorbers / dampers.

The suspension system allows the wheels to move up and down separately to the car body / chassis when a car goes over a bump or pothole. When this happens the springs compress or stretch and so help resist the displacement and because of the way a spring works, the greater the displacement the more the spring resists it.

However to stop the spring "springing" back into it's original place too quickly and to prevent it vibrating and shaking the car repeatedly (which would be very uncomfortable and also make safe control of the vehicle much more difficult) they are also fitted with shock absorbers or dampers.

These are cylinders filled with a viscous fluid with a piston inside them. The piston is porous and permeable and so can pass through the fluid but the fluid resists the motion. As the velocity of the motion increases so to does the amount of resistance. This stops the spring being forced to move too quickly when hitting a bump, it also stops it rebounding to quickly afterwards and stops the spring from oscillating backwards and forwards. Essentially it dampens the movement - hence the use of the name damper.

I have found that the drain hole for the AC gets blocked with dust or ther debris restricting and sometimes blocking fluid drainage. I have also foound that the external air filter in not seated properly will allow water to leak into the air flow cavity. When water builds up in the condenser box it will overflow on to the carpet, even ruin the blower motor. Repairing this requires getting under the passenger side of the firewall, locating the drain hole and clearing any debris. That's what I discovered when a mud wasp built a nest in mine. Good Luck!!

jack up your car enough where you can fit under it and you will see the bolts on the oil pan. there is like 10 or 12 i think. drain your oil first the loosen the bolts.you may have to get an engine puller to raise the engine some to get the pan off. make sure you have another gasket with the new pan or it will probably start leeking when you put it back on.

You need to pull up the center console cover first. Working from front to back carefully pull up to disengage the six pressure clips. You may need to disconnect the traction control wiring connection if you have one. The cup holder is attached to this panel and you can see how to repair or replace it. On my 1999 Regal the cup holder swing out side piece with the little spring fell off. I was able to retrieve them from under the console. Took me a few minutes to figure out how to put it back and re-engage the little spring. I added tape to secure cup holder top piece to the base to prevent them from separating again. Reattach the traction control wire clip and carefully push down to resecure the console panel. I believe the same Regal console panel fit from 1997 to 1005 model - but please verify that. Good Luck!

.060 is the typical spark plug gap for your engine.

PS Fluid reservoir is on the passengers' side, just in front and below the alternator towards the firewall . It is difficult to find without a flashlight since it's a black screw on cap. You will have to reach just below and in front of the the alternator to get to it. You will also need a funnel with a long tube (transmission funnel will work) to reach it without making a mess.

First off the regulator and the motor are one in the same, just depends on what you want to call it. If the fuse is ok you might want to pull the panel and test the regulator directly. If the regulator checks ok than check the switch. If you don't know or have someone, let me know.

Buick does not use inertia/ reset switches.
