The engine needs serviced? it could be multiple things maybe even your gas cap not on right take it to a auto part place and they usually can scan it for you

The answer from GKK below was very helpful. There is one small difference between his 2003 Saab 9-3 and my 2001 Saab 9-5 Aero. There is a metal clip holding the bulb socket in place. I took the clip off from the top and then unplugged the old low beam headlight bulb. I used some dielectric grease (available at Advanced Auto for $1) to coat the prongs of the new headlight bulb. Other than those small changes between the 9-3 and the 9-5, everything stated below works fine.

Also, make sure you ask for your military discount at Advanced Auto or Auto Zone. Both are real good to honor your service with a 10% discount. I appreciate them for being the few that still do that especially when the USA is presently deployed in two wars.

I hope this answers the question for you. I have a 2003 SAAB 9-3 and I'm hoping it's the same as for a 9-5. I just replaced the low-beam bulb on the passenger side. Bought at Autozone for $14.99 (H7 Sylvania Halogen). 1. Remove rubber cover. 2. Pull and twist plug to the right (towards drivers side). It should slip right off when everything is aligned. Use a flashlight. 3. Now that you have the plug assembly out, pull out the bulb. Easier said then done. It's in there very tight. I actually used a needle nose plier to grap a hold of the bulb plate itself. This doesn't twist, nor is it clipped on. It's just in there tight. So use the plier, and work you way around the bulb plate (don't know what else to call it). Tah, dah... I believe there's only one way for the new bulb to go in, so insert it into the plug and put everything back. Hope this works for your 9-5. Good luck from GKK.

Some bulbs have two filaments in them. One could be burnt out and the other will still work. These bulbs will have two posts at the base rather than just one.

It depends on what is broken. Mine has a seized compressor. There are a few places that sell a replacement. I just have not spent the money to fix it. They're about $200 mail order.

Many times, the ALC stops working because the switch attached to the Left Rear suspension stops working. The switch is fairly inexpensive

Mine did that I replaced the abs sensor.

NOTE: Once loose, there are still 4 wiring harnesses that have to be loosened - Speaker, three to power window control, and door lock switch... all are loosened by pushing on tab on the side of the housing while gently pulling the connector out of the housing. Under the arm rest, remove bolt. Reflector on the back of door needs to be removed. Carefully pry out the side closest to armrest, it'll pull out. Remove bolt seen through opening. Carefully pry around perimeter of door to release plastic fasteners. Release wiring harnesses - do the speaker one first, then door lock (or pull switch out of door - molded flange on each side of switch snap into openings in plastic housing. Use thin blade screwdriver along side of switch between switch/plastic housing. Gently pull switch from the door backing. Remove three harnesses to window switch. Done

As viewed from the front of the car, bank 1 is the cylinder bank to the back. Sensor 1 is on the manifold pipe upstream of the catalytic converter. It is visible, but not reachable, from the underside.

The coolant temp sensor is located at the thermostat housing... can see it between the driver side front engine mount and the throttle body. It is a 2-wire connector

The Vehicle interface unit VIU and the Vehicle control unit VCU and the receiver is located behind the glove box in the passenger footwell. the onstar button is located int he overhead console. the modules are vin specific so they cant be swapped out without GM. you can remove them I have a 02 and since its no longer supported by onstar i yanked out the VIU and VCU and the cell phone receiver. then took the GPS transponder off the front driver side of the windshield and the rear attenna off the back glass and got an overhead console minus onstar and put it up. They unplug and cause no problems The fuse is fuse 32. The actual guts of the Onstar system is in the frontmost overhead compartment that is between the driver and passenger seats. However, if the option wasn't purchased you'll just have an extra slot for sunglasses.

If you have all wheel drive a previous posting said to totally replace the fluid you will need 4 bottles of fluid (2 litre).

Mine was a 2007 with 3.5l engine with AWD and it took 6 quarts of Dextron VI.

If you are sure it is the heating element it is a serviceable item. The seat can be removed and the seat cushion can be disassembled to remove the heating element. Follow the wire into the seat to find the element.

The Buick Rendezvous has ratings that rate it to be a very safe car for an individual and for families. According to standard testing it is meant to be a safe car or it would not pass inspection.

To an extent the computer taylors settings to how you drive. You don't need to reset the computer. It resets itself while you drive. Most noticeable to me is the resetting of transmission shift points. If you are a more aggressive driver, tow a trailer, or live where there are steep hills, the computer learns this and delays shift points to a higher speed than those used as commuter cars here in flatland. Usually takes a few miles of different driving for it to reset. --Ken

With the key on, depress gas ped 3, or 6 times within 5 seconds, then turn off ignition. However; if you have the DIC system you have to depress mode until oil life comes on then, LEFT HOLD SET, and depress set until 100% is reading.

1. Disconnect negative battery cable
2. Tilt the steering wheel to its lowest position and remove the instrument cluster bezel
3. Remove the instrument cluster retaining screws
4. Pull the instrument cluster out,unplug the electrical connectors from the backside and the shift indicator from the bottom (automatic trans models) then remove the cluster from the instrument panel

sounds like a sticky thermostat to me, or there is air in your cooling system. make sure you open the bleed screw towards the top of the motor. it's usually mounted on the thermostat housing or top of the head. make sure coolant comes out when you're adding anti-freeze

under the hood, against the firewall left side, the front and back use the same container

The easiest way is to look under the body of the Rendezvous and see if there is a drive shaft connected to a transfer case on the rear wheels. If there's no drive shaft, it's FWD, if there's a shaft, it's AWD.

Aiming the Headlights The headlights must be properly aimed to provide the best, safest road illumination. The lights should be check for proper aim and adjusted as necessary. Certain state and local authorities have requirements for headlight aiming; these should be checked before adjustment is made. ***CAUTION*** About once a year, when the headlights are replaced or any time front end work is performed on your vehicle, the headlight should be accurately aimed by a reputable repair shop using the proper equipment. Headlights not properly aimed can make it virtually impossible to see and may blind other drivers on the road, possibly causing an accident. Note that the following procedure is a temporary fix, until you can take your vehicle to a repair shop for a proper adjustment.Headlight adjustment may be temporarily made using a wall, as described below, or on the rear of another vehicle. When adjusted, the lights should not glare in oncoming car or truck windshields, nor should they illuminate the passenger compartment of vehicles driving in front of you. These adjustments are rough and should always be fine-tuned by a repair shop which is equipped with headlight aiming tools. Improper adjustments may be both dangerous and illegal. For most of the vehicles covered by this manual, horizontal and vertical aiming of each sealed beam unit is provided by two adjusting screws which move the retaining ring and adjusting plate against the tension of a coil spring. There is no adjustment for focus; this is done during headlight manufacturing. Ø Because the composite headlight assembly is bolted into position, no adjustment should be necessary or possible. Some applications, however, may be bolted to an adjuster plate or may be retained by adjusting screws. If so, follow this procedure when adjusting the lights, But always have the adjustment checked by a reputable shop. Before removing the headlight bulb or disturbing the headlamp in any way, note the current settings in order to ease headlight adjustment upon reassembly. If the high or low beam setting of the old lamp still works, this can be done using the wall of a garage or a building: 1. Park the vehicle on a level surface, with the fuel tank about ½ full and with the vehicle empty of all extra cargo (unless normally carried). The vehicle should be facing a wall which is no less than 6 feet (1.8m) high and 12 feet (3.7m) wide. The front of the vehicle should be about 25 feet from the wall. 2. If aiming is to be performed outdoors, it is advisable to wait until dusk in order to properly see the headlight beams on the wall. If done in a garage, darken the area around the wall as much as possible by closing shades or hanging cloth over the windows. 3. Turn the headlights ON and mark the wall at the center of each light's low beam, then switch on the brights and mark-the center of each light's high beam. A short length of masking tape which is visible from the front of the vehicle may be used. Although marking all four positions is advisable, marking one position from each light should be sufficient. 4. If neither beam on one side is working, and if another like-sized vehicle is available, park the second one in the exact spot where the vehicle was and mark the beams using the same-side light. Then switch the vehicles so the one to be aimed is back in the original spot. It must be parked no closer to or farther away from the wall than the second vehicle. 5. Perform any necessary repairs, but make sure the vehicle is not moved, or is returned to the exact spot from which the lights were marked. Turn the headlights ON and adjust the beams to match the marks on the wall. 6. Have the headlights adjustment checked as soon as possible by a reputable repair shop.
