What causes a clicking noise while moving the steering wheel?
There is a tsb on the stabilizer bar links. Actually there are 2 the first one is if there is play in the link, try tightening it and the second is replace them if I remember right. Although not as profitable as a rack, it should be checked first before replacing that rack.
AnswerI've had a similar problem which led to the half shaft being bad. If it's rear-wheel drive then exclude my comment AnswerI'm not familiar with your vehicle however i have fixed a similar problem in several cars ive owned if your wheel moves or pops a little then you hear the click or thump then look for where the steering column comes out of the firewall and connects to the shaft coming from the steering box there may be a joint htere that has a rubber type material that joins the two together this joint allows the column to be at a different angle than the lower shaft if the "rubber circle is worn out you will need to replace it. this will cause your steering wheel to move iwerd then you get the thump or it has a little slop in it and it thumps. there are two pins going from the upper shaft and two pins coming from the lower and the rubber circle joins them together it is common for these to wear out. AnswerI had a similar problem. The sound got worse as time went on. At first, before the clickig it was a "whirring" sound that increased as tire speed increased (like a tire wearing badly on one edge). Then it began to click in the turns; first just when turning one way; then the other. This is typical of the wear indications for a CV JOINT going bad. In my case, it was just on the right side. I had FIRESTONE fix it. For the longest time I thought I had bad tires; but it was the CV JOINT.http://www.autozone.com/servlet/UiBroker?UseCase=S001&UserAction=viewSimpleDiagInfo&Parameters=info
answer answer the bearings inside steering column,(behind steering wheel) are worn out. replace them soon or you will have to replace the steering shaft in column. bearing replacement will cost you about 60 bucks in a shop. shaft replacement will cost about 250 bucks just to buy the shaft, so don't let this problem get any worse
Noises can be difficult to pin point ---it is usually nesessary to hear them yourself---but another possibility is the bearing in the top of the strut mount could be worn out or dry so when you turn the steering wheel --while standing still--the strutt assembly moves eratically rather then smothly making a clicking sound--Put your hand on the strut tower while turning the wheel and see if you can feel it

Our 2007 Sorento bought July 2007, went until now (04/2010) with an after market locking gas cap . It is now showing code 456. Replaced with original gas cap and code went away.
When we bought the vehicle the parts manager said the Kias were sensitive to locking gas caps.
Guess we were lucky to get a couple of years

Can American awd SUV be flat towed?
you didnt specify which American SUV, but most of the newer ones can be flat towed a short distance with the tranny and transfer case in neutral, short distance less than 75 miles, if you need to tow farther you really should disconnect the drive line to the rear end, most of the transfer cases are pump oiled and the pump wont oil just by rolling the vehicle, also beaware that alot of the transfer cases are of the slip yoke style and when you pull the drive line out it my leak fluid,, you can get a plug to put in it., I hope this helps some

How do you change the transmission fluid in a 2005 Buick Rendezvous?
You must remove the transmission fluid pan which consists of 17 or 20 screws.Unscrew them in an odd pattern without totally removing them until you've loosened them all.You will then have the fluid begin draining, have a large drain pan to catch the fluid. After fluid slows, finish removing pan which will have remaining fluid come out. Transmission filter will also be accessible at this point making that a quick and very necessary part of the job.Hope that helps.
How do you reset the low tire pressure warning light on a 2001 Chevy Monte Carlo SS?
AFTER you inflate the tires to the correct pressure, turn the ignition to the on position. Then pull the headlight knob from the OFF position to the parking light position three times. This should reset the system. This is the easiest way but you can also reset it through the radio. If you would rather do it this way, it is on 6-44 in your owner's manual
How do you take the roof racks off a Nissan Armada?
I JUST TOOK MINE OFF YESTERDAY. (MARCH 1, 2008) YOU NEED TO UNSCREW THE PHILLIPS SCREW IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CHROME LATCH. THEN YOU WANT TO POP THE COVER OFF WITH A FLAT HEAD SCREW DRIVER. THEN FINALLY REMOVE THE 10mm SIZE BOLTS WITH A RATCHET. THATS IT.......GOOD LUCK......THIS GAVE MY ARMADA A SLEEK/DIFFERENT LOOK WITHOUT THE ROOF RACK.

How do you remove an engine in a 2002 buick rendezvous?
with a shoe horn and a prayer
you right ......
only remove 4 bolt you could take out the engine and trany BUT
They come out from the bottom of the car ,that mean you have to lift the car body high as the high of engine ,do you have equipment to do that ?????
Good luck.
I got my out by lift the car body high as I could ,go under and take it apart (trany,intake,etc.. ) then lift the engine block out through the top
after that is easy ,put back the same way
That why it cost $700 or more to fix the head gaskets...
How do you change the sparkplugs on a 1990 Chevy Lumina?
changing the spark plugs is pretty straight forward...I'll assume you're referring to the rear plugs...it is a tight squeeze...lol...A more useful answer is to undo the 2 dogbones holding the engine to the frame just above the radiator.......careful, the car will roll back!....be prepared with a crowbar or other lever hooked under the wishbone over the transmission........careful, don't bend or hit any of the cables in that area....very expensive!.....now lever the car forward and remove the dogbone bolts on the engine .....keep levering the car forward until you can put the removed bolt through the eyelet in the center of the dogbone......this will hold the engine away from the firewall and give you room to change the spark plugs......ps. always use spark plug wire pliers to remove the wires.
I take the alternator off. Then you can get to them
I believe that taking the alternator off is probably easier.I didn't do it that way though, for which I paid dearly. I did it by removing the dogbone bolts because some jerkoff here said to. The only thing he forgot to mention is how much pressure it takes to hold the engine forward, leave the dogbones attached, take off the alternator---you're better off. TRUST ME! It does give you alot more room to remove the dogbone bolts alllowing motor to shift ahead ,just use the second whole on the bracket that is on motor ,bolt up the dogbone to that whole which will hold the motor ahead.
