Can a gutter fitted 110 roof rack fit a gutterd discovery?

Yes, ish! I fitted a gutter mounted 90 rack to a 200tdi discovery. I had to bend the legs out a little to get it on but it did go on. If its a full length 110 rack though it will be too long, in which case you can sell it to me because I need one! :D

How do you remove and replace the front sidemarker bulbs on a '96 Nissan Pathfiner?

Open the hood and look for a bolt/screw in the corner, over the headlight (you'll see that it holds the enclosure via a flat piece of plastic. Remove the bolt/screw and pull the enclosure forward. The problem with this design is that the metal pin that holds the enclosure to the car gets rusted after a while and expands. This can result in the pin breaking off as you pull on the enclosure. There doesn't seem to be anyway around this, since the only access to the pin is by removing the enclosure. If this happens, you can try and glue the pin back on (which, in my experience doesn't last too long), or replace it with a new one (aftermarket is much cheaper and looks just as good). Once you've removed/broken the enclosure, twist off the bulb holder and remove/replace the bulb.

In 2010, on my 2001 pathfinder the enclosure was indeed stuck and I was loath to break off the"metal pin" so I spent some extra time on this. I was changing the passen ger side front turnsignal. So from the underside in front of the tire, I removed 3 screws holding down the lower part of the black plastic mud flap that is attached to the plastic bumper. Once these are out it is easy to peel the flap up a bit and see inside. This by the way is how you have to change the fog light. But from below with a mirror was able to see the pin which was black plastic. The square plastic pin assembly (and pin) snaps into in a square metal holder that is cast into the car frame. Anyways, from below and using a long (12") slot screw driver I was able to insert the slot between the plastic assembly and the metal holder and twist a bit until the pin came loose. Then from the front of the car the light assembly finally comes out snd its easy to change the bulb and snap the pin back in.

The driver side turn signal is much hard to loosen up from under the car because there are other parts in the way on that side.

How do you install a Chevy front bumper?

All GM front "bumpers" are nothing more than thick plastic--chromed or painted. The aftermarket bumpers are steel but ugly, ugly, ugly. Only guy I know that makes good looking steel bumpers welds them up in his garage in Lakewood, CO. They are powder coated and can be made for winches. Used to be a Lakewood cop and saw many accidents. Any steel bumper will cost a couple thousand uninstalled. Try to grin and bear it.

How do you install a roll pan?

Okay, First things first...Select a roll pan for your vehicle. There are 2 choices you can choose from: A Steel roll pan or a Fiberglass roll pan. In my experience, steel is the better choice because it doesn't warp after being manufactured and install goes much smoother. Fiberglass is usually cheaper but you run the risk of it being warped and it might not last as long. Next you will need to take off the tailgate by first disconnecting the tailgate support cables on either side. You can usually half-open the tailgate and one side will be able to slide up and off. (See repair or owners manual for proper removal on your vehicle). Now that the tailgate is off, DISCONNECT all wiring leading to rear bumper for license plate light, tow packages, ect. Next, remove rear bumper via the brackets attached at the frame frame (usually 3 or 4 bolts). This will completely remove your stock bumper.

Install:

After completing steps above. With tailgate off, set roll pan into desired position making sure everything looks square to sides and bottom. (Note: pulling or pushing of the bed corners is sometimes necessary for proper fit). Using duct tape, attach roll pan and reinstall tailgate to ensure clearance when tailgate is in operation. Adjust roll pan as necessary to obtain proper clearance and desired look. FINALLY bolt roll pan into place using supplied screws or weld* (steel roll pan only) if desired. Reinstall tailgate and you are done!

How do you install a front bumper on a 98 Ford Ranger?

Oh yea I've got the bumper, lower air valance, and left and right mounting brackets. I don't have the bolts or anything, nor do I know how the brackets are supposed to mount.

There should be screws that screw the bumper to to inside of the valance. When your looking at the front of the truck you see the outside of the valance, but the bumper is screwed in behind the valance and the bumper is attached to the mounting brackets on the frame of the truck.

How do you remove the Wheel Well covers on a 1996 Pathfinder?

Sorry for not being specific, but it's mostly short Phillips screws and plastic push pins that hold it on. I found from personal experience that the plastic push pins break and bend easily. Trashing these plastic pieces can cause problems like the plastic wheel well cover coming off while driving.

How do you change the rear bumper on your 1994 Honda Del Sol?

get a simple auto mechanic kit. using either 9 or 10 size tools, take off the side skirts. (this is necessary to take off the wheel well. after you take off the wheel wells, you will be able to reach the screws behind it to unclip the bumper. it may seem daunting and hard to do, but the only hard part is the clips. make sure you remember where everything goes back for when youre done.

(can anyone else input advice for the screws around the trunk and under the car if any?)

Who invented bowling bumpers?

It was created in 1983 By two men who wanted to see young children who couldn't keep the bowling ball out of the gutter. the two men put wood planks in the the gutter, preventing the bowl from going in and the children had a ball. They never got recongnition for it, but I know this to be true, because i was one of the men. This is NOT accurate. I invented bumpers for bowling alley gutters in 1967 as a mechanical engineering project while attending Engineering School at The University of Miami, Florida.

How do you remove the rear bumper on a 240sx?

This "how to" only applies to 89-94 240SX's (S13's). I'm not sure about s14's but the procedure is most likely pretty similar. Removing the rear bumper is actually much easier than the front bumper, it's just knowing what bolts to remove that's the toughest part. First thing you need to do is remove both the carpet and side trim panels in the trunk, to allow you to gain access to the necessary bolts. Once that is done, remove the nuts that hold the rear bumper to the rear quarter panels. To get an idea where these bolts would be, look on the outside of the car and look at the seam between the rear bumper and quarter panel. There should only be three on each side. Next, there are 4 rubber gromets (rubber caps) covering four 14mm bolts in the trunk. There are two on each side of the spare tire well and are in line with each other. These bolts are what holds on the rear bumper support. Remove those, and the bumper should come right out with the bumper support attached. You may notice that there are wires still attached to the bumper, these wires are for the license plate lights and can be unplugged once the bumper is pulled partially out. Once you have the bumper and bumper support freed from the car, you can easily remove the bumper from the support by removing some screws. Cheers!
