You have to take all the bolts out of the intake and it helps to take the air cleaner assembly out of the way. Also disconnect throttle linkages, and then you should be able to move the intake out of the way enought o get to the starter.

I have a 98 Cadillac deville and it was not turning over. All the lights in the dash came on and it read, theft system problems car may not restart. And it didn't, I checked the ground wire from the battery and it started and has been every since. Hope this works for you as well.

Note that I have seen a pair of rear stereo 6x9s mounted in the trunk in cardboard wedge boxes, with the grilles cut through the well liner. This appeared to be a factory installation but I don't have any documentation to back it up. The speakers would have been muffled severely when the top was down, and would have reflected off of the rear glass when the top was up. I believe that they were an original option - a rare one - but I can't be sure.

im pretty sure every northstar has the starter located under the intake plenum in the lifter valley between the heads. youll have to take off the intake to see it, it pokes through the flywheel cover at the top of the transmission. hope this helps.

most likely problem if all fusible links are ok, and starter and battery good, then the key cylinder needs replacement along with a new key,because cyliner has two wires coming oout of it that break internally, this sends a no signal from chip embedded in key to vehicle computer. causing computer to read a theft action taking place. after three tries system will shut down for 1 complete hour. original key has a chip with a code on it need same code with new key, talk to g.m. dealership about proper parts
