Car Shaking Problems

Car shaking problems are usually the results of mechanical problems. Out of adjustment tires or suspension will make the car shake after reaching a certain speed. Warped brake rotors will also make the car shake when it’s slowing down.

What causes scraping and vibration in front wheel in 2003 ford explorer sport trac?

Your disc pads are probably below minimums and when you replace them be sure to check your rotors for deep scarring especially on the in board side...If you do this your self after removing the pads lubricate the brake pistons with either silicone spray even a little under the rubber seal lips if possible. then when forcing tem back fully to the einside make sure you use one of the old pads and a c clamp or large water pump pliers so they go in evenly...Be sure you take the old pads with you to purchase the new as there is more than 1 design

What could cause a car to shake and shut off when stepping on the gas?

I'm not in expert, but it could be ( in winter time) that the car engine is still cold. But if its warm temperature outside, it could have something to do with the gas filter. Its probably blocking from the gas to get to where its supposed to go. It also could be your spark plugs, or wires from the spark plugs. You could check the spark plugs yourself. If the end of the spark plug is dark, like almost black, you need new spark plugs. If you look at the wire from the spark and its worn out, then replace them.

What causes vibration in left front tire of car when wheel is turned left but not right only when driving seventy mph or higher?

Answer

I had the almost exact same problem with my 2004 Nissan Maxima. after several trips to the dealership for all kinds of tests and inpections(most of which involved brakes) the technicians told me my rim was bent. A new one cost 700 bucks on my car. I don't know how to check for that without giving it to a tire shop.

Why would a car wobble at low speeds not the steering wheel but the car?

A bent, loose or unbalanced wheel. And, if there is no shaking in the steering wheel, then it is most likely from one, or both, of the rear wheels. Irregularity or bulge in a tyre also causes car shaking. I've has this problem once, and it was because the engine mounts needed to be replaced.

Why does my car squeak in the back and rides rough?

Shocks have gone bad ( dried out seals ) or spring shackles loose. have someone bounce the rear of the car while you look under to narrow down the source of the squeak.

What is the right way to tighten spark plugs?

The proper way by the book is with a torque wrench to specs. Found in a manual or resource guide. By hand, finger tight, and then firm it up some. Not much, over tightening does much damage. You can always go back and double check them later after a few drive cycles. I'm sure this is the reason for your question..........

I've seem many many engine heads damaged by overtightened plugs and I can count on my two hands I've seen that have not been tight enough. Never replace your plugs until the engine has cooled completely. This will save you a lot of problems from surfacing.

If you hold the ratchet by the head and just give them a slight tweak, that should be enough.

What causes a rear wheel to wobble?

Check that your tire doesn't have a broken belt or a bulge. Then check your wheel balance. If the tire is okay and it is balanced, check your axle an axle bearings. If it is IRS check all bushes, rubbers, and control arms.

Why does my truck shake when turning and upon acceleration?

I would suspect you have a broken motor mount. If that is not the case, then you need to inspect all suspension parts, and the drive shaft universal joints.

Why does tire shake when you turn?

Jack up the front and check for play in the suspension. Check lug nuts for tightness. Grab the tire at 9 and 3 O'Clock. Move your left hand to the 12 O'Clock position and let go of the tire. Did it move on its own? Have your tires balanced at a tire shop.
