How do you remove a ignition switch on a 1996 camaro?
Disconnect the battery so you don't blow the air bag.
Remove the trim panels under the dash board. The ignition switch is connected to the lock cylinder by a rod. Remove the screws that hold the switch in place and then remove the rod from the lock cylinder.

How do you adjust the valves on your 3.4l Camaro?
the easiest way is to go get a hanes chiltons book on your camaro it has step by step in it on this. i got this from my chiltons book on a 1993-1995 3.4l camaro. rotate your crank until the mark on the harmonic balancer is at noon watch as it approaches and see if any puchrods are moving. if they are you are approaching firing position for number 4 cylinder. if this happens rotate the crank another full rotation. if they do not move as you approach the "noon" position you are ready to go. from this position you can adjustexhaust valves 1,2,and 3 and intake valves 1,5,and 6. unscrew the nut on the rocker arm until movemment can be felt in the pushrod. start tightening until no more pushrod lash is felt. (when you can no longer omve the pushrod up and down by hand tighten an additional 3/4 to 1 1/2 turns. now rotate crank another rotation. you can now adjust exhaust valves 4,5, and 6 and intake valves 2,3, and 4. repeat above steps.
How much would a new Chevy Camaro cost?
It really depends on the model SS or RS (Super Sport or Rally Sport) Then the multiple options that you can add on..but the base model (cheapest one you can get) is around $22,680. That's the V6 model with the basic stuff. You can add all the features and stuff and get the price up to around $47,000.
Why might your 1995 Camaro not start as if no power was going to the starter?
if your car has a anti theft device system built into the igniton. fusible link next to the battery cables . neutral safety switch. poor ground
More detailedI have a 1995 Camaro Convertible and this happened to me a few weeks ago. Battery was only a few months old, and I had just driven the car 5 minutes earlier. It seems the anti-theft device built into most 93-97 Camaro's (and other years, probably) completely shuts off the ignition switch. When you turn the key absolutely nothing happens, even if the anti-theft 'key' is properly inserted below the dash on the driver's side. (What I did to trigger it I have no idea, since I've had the car for 10 years now and it's never happened before.)If you wait about 15 minutes the power should be restored, and you can then start your car and drive away. It doesn't sound like one of the detailed battery problems below, since even with a bad battery you would get *some* kind of response (clicking, a voltage signal,..)
This can be hazardous. You will be working on an automotive electrical system that can not be tested with the battery disconnected. Be careful at all times, and DO NOT attempt any of this if you are not familiar with working around automotive electrical systems safely.
=====================================
First, check the battery voltage, I use the 20 volt DC scale. Minimum should be over 11. Starting takes a lot of power, and a bad battery will not do it. A common sign of low battery is a clicking sound (once or continual) from the selenoid when you try to start.
Check the voltage at the battery both with the ignition key off and with it in the start position. If the voltage drops under 10 volts with the key in the start position, then the battery needs recharging or replacement.
Next check the ground to the starter (with the key off) by leaving the red lead on the positive battery terminal and moving the black lead to the outside metal of the starter. If there is a change of more than 1 volt, you have a problem in the grounding for the car.
If the battery voltage is OK, move on to testing the selenoid. This is done by putting the black wire to the metal fender inside the engine compartment, and using the red probe to check the external terminals on the selenoid.
One large wire (the battery feed) should be hot (11-14 volts) all the time, and the other (one or two) should only be hot when the key is in the 'start' position.
The small wire ignition (key) wire. If there is no voltage on that wire while the key is in 'start' then your trouble is in the key circuit and you need to track that issue.
The third wire (it it exists), attached to the starter itself is the power feed to the starter. If there is power to the ignition wire but no power out, then the problem is that the selenoid has failed.
[Key wire problems]
(more later)
I had this happen lots of times on my 89 IROC-Z which I still have. If you take apart your steering column and look at where you switch is you will see two white small wires that lead into where you put your key into. These wires is what your key chip connect to for your anti theft device. They are very small and over time will break because with each key turn it pulls on them. (I had the same thing with having to wait a few mintues to start the car, I thought it was a batt problem but it wasn't) All I did is go to Chevy order your key mech and switch it out. You might have to get new keys made depending if they have the right one in stock because the voltage differs with each car. The part is about $50 or so and should only take you about an hour to remove old one and install new. After I removed the old one I installed the new and left the wires out of the bundle for easy removal at a later date for when this one goes out.
Might also check out the bolt that holds battery cable to battery. Ran across this last week. The bolt felt as though held by one thread as i cleaned and retightened. Replaced with longer bolt from parts house and got into the deeper threads in bottom of hole in battery. Fixed it.

How do you remove a 1977 Camaro front windshield?
I owned one of these many moons ago. 77 Type LT. If there is a chrome molding around the windshield, you will need to remove this. They make a molding removal tool which you can purchase at NAPA. I would purchase this if you don't have one as you will more than likely bend the molding without it.
Once any molding is removed, use a razor blade on an edge (like next to a side window support). Remove the glue around the area and start working it under the edge. Once you get a small slit here is what you can do to make the job quicker. Get some very fine wire. Single strand, not multi strand. Steel wire works great. The stuff your looking for is like piano string or 12lb test fishing line. Than get yourself two pairs of vice-grips.
You'll need a friend for this part forward. Feed a 3ft section of wire through the crack you made in the adhesive. Use a screwdriver or something thin to help push it through. Have one person get inside and one outside and connect a pair of vice grips to both ends. Work together, one person hold and the other pull and it will cut through the adhesive. Do this all the way around the window. once you have gone all the way around, remove the wire and have the person on the inside carefully push out (use gloves just in case). Remove the old windshield.
Your not done yet. Now you have to go around and clean all the old adhesive off the frame. Once you feel you have it all, use an alcohol or mineral spirits and wipe it down. Let it dry. Pick up a windshield seal at an autoparts store and carefully unroll it around the window frame. Once it is all the way around and set on the same line as the old stuff was, get your friend again. One on each side and bring the windshield up. Carefully mindful of the alignment, gently press the windshield into the adhesive. If your in a cold climate you better do this in a heated garage. You can use a heat lamp or blow dryer to speed up the drying process. Put your moldings back on after a day and your good to go.
Where is the fuel filter located on a 1994 Chevy Camaro 3.4L V6?
The fuel filter on a 1994 Chevrolet Camaro is on the drivers side on the inner side of the frame rail near the back almost parallel to the front of the back drives side tire. The way you get it off is to loosen the nut on the front of the filter and pull off the little white clamp on a hole in the hose on the back of the filter with a flat head screw driver and slide it out of the clamp housing that holds it in place than slide the new one in slide the hose back on the back and it should come with a little white clamp you place in the cut opening on the hose so the hose will stay safe and secure and screw the nut back onto the front and your done. For anyone that is going to try to change it on your own it isn't hard to do BUT BEFORE you try to change it please make sure you are wearing heavy protective covering like overalls and some heavy covering on your arms and gloves so gas will not spill on you and if gas does get on you make sure you wash it off RIGHT AWAY it burns like hell and it will leave blisters if not tended to as soon as possible. Have fun with it! http://s1018.photobucket.com/albums/af307/BennZ28/?action=view¤t=FuelFilter2.jpg http://s1018.photobucket.com/albums/af307/BennZ28/?action=view¤t=FuelFilter.jpg BenZ28 Its in the frame rail on the right side or the car next to the fuel tank its actually on the drivers side frame rail...right along the engine side of the hump for the diff...
What do you do if the headlights on a 1997 Chevy Camaro come on when key is turned on?
You have a twilight sentinel. Deal with it or sell the car. Or if you dont want the lights too come on you could just pull the parking break up one click with the engine off and then start it. and if you want your lights on you can just take the parking break off
How do you check transmission fluid in 1996 Cadillac Seville?
You don't. The 1996 model describes the transmission as "forever filled", therefore, there is not a cap to view the status of the fluid.
Not really:
The dipstick for the transmission fluid is near the air box and under a hose.
Where do you add transmission fluid to an 87 camaro?
On a automatic it will be added by pouring it down the dipstick tube for the tranny. Make sure you don't over fill so add it a little at a time. Then start your car and with the brake depressed run the transmission through the gears, this will allow the fluid to circulate throughout the tranny. Turn the car off and check the level again. Add more if needed.
On a manual there should be a plug on the side of the tranny. It will be the top most location plug. There might be a drain plug do not remove this one or you will have a mess. Fill the tranny until fluid comes out of the top hole. Reinstall plug and youre good to go.
