There can be several answers to this question depending on specs, upgrades, etc.

Talking stock, and assuming that compared to any other TPI engine that this is indeed a problem the most likely cause is a vacuum leak.

If the vehicle has a big cam, (not stock) that's just how some cams idle is a real lopey idle.

The corvette is equipped with a knock sensor, so if there is any sort of tapping in the engine, whether this be from a problem, a deserved tuneup, or even if you tapped the engine with a wrench, the knock sensor will try to compensate by changing the timing of the vehicle slightly. This with change the vehicle idle up and down.

Keep in mind Dodge may have claimed a slightly higher top speed than actual to appeal to wealthy speed demons who can afford to insure such a car, while Ford may have claimed a lower than real life number to keep the Mustang affordable to insure.

Even with that taken into consideration a Viper would run down a factory built Mustang in short order. Even specialty built Mustangs like the Roush and Saleen models would have a hard time keeping up.

However the Mustang's lighter weight and handling will give it an edge in some aspects of driving and racing.

When I changed my shifter in my 74 camaro I had a similar problem with the battery dying. I later found out that it was because my neutral safety switch was going bad. so what i did was bypass my neutral safety switch by taking it off and just keeping it in the park position but that made the problem worse so what i did was take the n/s switch that came with my shifter and ran two wires from the n/s (RED And PURPLE WHIRES) which is the park position under the carpet to the n/s for the console and i havnt had a problem. or what you can do is disconnect the green and purple wires and ru a jumper wire between them to see if that will work.

if it is the cable under the top . i have just reached in to the release and pull the spring forward. it is just a lever. pull forward and you should be ok

The 1987 Chevrolet Corvette turn signal flasher switch is located beneath the drivers side dashboard. The turn signal flasher switch will be to the right of the brake pedal.

You need to check all the exhaust pipe hangers, one of them is letting the exhaust rattle against something. Also check muffler heat shield it could also be loose. When transmission in engaged in any gear the engine is torqued to the right, so that is moving the exhaust ( it is attached to the engine so it moves with the engine )into a position to rattle, in neutral the engine is sitting evenly in its mounts so no rattle. May want to check engine and trans mounts too.

They didn't come in silver and red together, but they did come as two car colors (Chevrolet called them Inca silver and Vatican red).

I usually locate A bad turn signal relay by turning on thehazard flashers. The click off click off click off noise will usually lead you to both. Then I usually switch the hazard relay with the t-sig relay resulting in no hazards and working t-signals. DON'T FORGET TO PULL THE HAZARD SWITCH BACK OUT OR YOU WON'T HAVE ANY T-SIG AT ALL. Also some relays are located one on the front of the fuse panel and one directly behind the same panel. If you have neither t-sig nor haz your problem is likely pos pow sup. Hope this helps

On the rear bumper notice the size of the emblem in the center. The "first "design has a smaller emblem than the "second" design, and it was carried over to the '77. This , of course, holds only if the rear bumper hasn't been changed.

This can get complicated OK check your brake light switch (it is under the dash look under dash at the brake pedal look for a switch the goes that switch when you push the brake pedal there may be more than one) use a 12 volt test light or meter to see if the switch has 12 volts and is working. If not replace if so next you may want a wiring diagram a lot of time the hazard switch goes bad or the wiring in the column goes bad. From the fuse panel to the brake light switch and to the hazard is a orange wire make sure has 12 volts at all times if not that's the problem. from the brake light switch the wire is white and goes to the hazard assy. . the orange wire also goes to the hazard switch then comes out the hazard switch brown and goes to the hazard assy. . coming out the hazard assy the right brake light wire is dark green and the left wire is yellow.

well if you have a coupe just raise the hatch and under the breaklight there will be two torx bolts remove them and the light will come off the glass be careful not to scratch your window or paint as you replace the bulbs,also make sure you are sitting down when you price the bulb,i paid about 7.00 apiece for mine at oriellys.be careful about how you insert the bulbs as they dont have ends like the 194 bulb does all they have are the 2 contact wires sticking out the back also use a good bulb grease when you reinstall and be carefull about taking your old bulbs out try not to break the contact wires,good luck it's not that hard just take your time and you'll do ok
