The 2001 Impala LS's fuel pump and fuel sending unit can be easily accessed through the trunk floor next to the back of the rear fold down seat. I know, because I just replaced mine. There is an oval access plate under the carpet secured by 7 aluminum nuts. Disconnect the fuel filler cap to release fuel line pressure. Then disconnect the negative cable to minumize lthe possibility of sparks while working near gasoline. Remove the plate and you will see the top of the fuel pump/sending unit with 2 wiring harnesses attached and 3 attached fuel hoses. Remove the wiring harnesses by first carefully disengaging the plug clips. Then remove each of the three small fuel hoses by pressing in the clips with a flat head screw driver . I had some difficulty with this and I would strongly advise purchasing an inexpensive fuel line removal tool from an auto parts store to avoid damaging the clips. After removing the wiring harnesses and the fuel hoses from the top of the fuel pump/sending unit, now remove the slotted metal lock ring by using a small chisel and hammer. Hit the ring at an angel to loosen it from the tabs. Once the ring is loosened, all that's left is to lift the the unit out of the tank. But first, wipe away the debris from the top of the unit to avoid contaminating your tank when you pull the unit out and when reinstalling. Also, have a small towel handy along with a bucket because the pump/sending unit will be spilling fuel as you pull it out.After pulling out the old fuel pump/sending unit, installation is the reverse of removal. However, getting the new fuel module back in that small oval opening proved to be the hardest part of what I considered a relatively straight forward repair. Push the disconnected hoses out of the way and patiently work the new pump in. Its spring loaded and once its in the tank, compress it by pushing down on its top until you have the nessesary room to resecure the locking metal ring. The strictly gasoline 2008 Chevy Impala holds 17 gallons of fuel; the E85 model holds 14.2 gallons of fuel. I obtained this information from Motor Trend. Hope this helps!

It wasn't an impala, but I had a car that leaked and would fill the floorboard on the passenger side. It was due to a drain that was plugged with dirt, leaves, etc. that ran down from the windshield and would normally drain out under the car.

everybody has this question when it comes to comparing the 2004 marauder with the 96 impala ss. both cars are full size sedans with big v8s. most would agree that they are evenly match in the performance department. so what exactly set them apart? well in this case the marauder seem to have the upper edge over the aging SS. the marauder is more modern and tune better than the SS. the SS is a sloppy driving machine. it doesn't corner like the marauder does, the weight is not distributed evenly throughout the car which makes a big difference in driving. basically the marauder would beat the SS but not leave it in the dust, because the SS is not slow, but it just drive differently, plus its much more heavier.

finally it all depends who driving the cars, and how they drive it.

The simple answer may be that the low beam side is burnt out. Replace the bulb.

However, if both headlights have stopped working when switching to low beams, there may be a problem with the relay or the switch itself. If the cost of a relay is low for your car, it may be less expensive to simply replace that component than to have it diagnosed in a repair shop. Replacement of the switch requires some disassembly of the steering column or dash in most vehicles. Check a specific service manual.

Sure just find where other wires pass through and push it through with the tip of your screw driver, be careful not to nick or stretch any of the existing wires.

The point gap should be set for 30 degrees dwell.

Realistically: Probably still a pretty shiny penny. It is an American muscle car classic you know. Depending on the condition of the car though, probably something around $15,000 maybe. It really depends on the seller -which I doubt they'll do, lol. =)

In my humble opinion, it is never easy to fix anything on cars these days. I would assume though that if everything goes dead then it is a good possibility that the ignition switch is at fault. It's a common problem spot for many.

Approximately $2,300.00 to replace with a rebuilt. (Just replaced mine) My guess new would be around $3,000.00

the evap system is designed to allow un burned fuel vapor to be purged into the intake while driving also when fuel tank pressure reach to high for example hot day outside most common cause is the vent control solenoid located in the upper rear quarter you can see it underneath. it could be also a kink in a vapor hose or even the fuel tank pressure senor

If you go to a shop id say $400-$500 depending on where you go it could be more....me personally i would do it myself and probably only spend about $200 just on parts ...

There is a low oil level sensor in the side of the oil pan. It is most likely defective.

327 is a Small block. 265 thru 400 were small blocks but to confuse you more the 396 thru 454 were big blocks.

Unless you really want to be confused, I won't mention the 348 was a big block. :)
