it depends on the engine you have. the most common combo is the 350 V8 5.7 L has a 350 turbo hydromatic tranny.

Depends on what gears are in the Truck. The 4:10 gears put the capacity at 18000 lbs and the 3:54 gears take it down to 16000 lbs

Fuse block locations vary from model to model. Ask again specifying the model of your Chevy.

I'm just passing through...my '99 sonoma would drain battery after 2-3 days. Clock did not stay on but alternator had a short inside that sucked up the juice. Does your alt light come on when running? Just a suggestion, check alternator. G/L

take the bolts out then undo the wires then put the new one in.

After disconnecting the battery cables at the battery, disconnect the wires on the starter, then unbolt the starter. With the starter unbolted, pull it forward towards the front of the vehicle, then drop the nose of the starter and bring ti to the ground.

It depends. is it a fuse or a relay? if its a relay then its under the hood usually near the battery. there are fuses in the same spot. your main fuse box is usually somewhere under the dashboard.

Behind drivers side valve cover at the firewall. The 6.5 diesel is known for the oil pressure sensor going bad. This three wire sensor is both the sending unit for the oil pressure gauge and the safety cut off for the fuel pump relay. (no oil pressure, no fuel pressure.)

210 is norm for most chevys, witch is good in the winter, if you live in hot weather go ahead and install the 180 degree thermostat

any vehicle with a 195 degree thermostat should run at 195 degrees. Assuming all components are working properly, there is sufficient coolant capacity, and the vehicle is not being used outside of it's design parameters.

195 may be the thermostat temperature, but in the case of my Z28 Camaro, the cooling fans are set to come on at a higher temp 230 (probably for sake of emissions), and then settle down to 210. In this respect, the fan sensors dictates your operating temp.

I would suggest you contact a GM Dealer about this. Almost all Chevy engines use a 180 degree or a 160-165 degree thermostat. I`m not going to say this is concrete but

I do not suggest getting the engine over 200 degrees. About all this new stuff has aluminum heads and heat is an enemy to them. Call the dealer !!!!!! GOOD LUCK

2008 and newer Chevy Equinox Sport models only can be towed flat behind a motorhome. Both the Sport FWD and the Sport AWD can be dinghy towed according to my owners manual. 2008 Equinox Sport AWD

It sounds like your low beam filament in the headlight bulb is gone. Try replacing the headlight bulb.

It is built into the alternator on todays automobiles.

oxygen sensors are located on the exhaust pipe, after the header. a metal cylinder screwed into the pipe with 2 wires attached. safest way is to purchase an o2 sensor socket for your 3/8 ratchet. it is the appropriate size deep socket with a slot in the side for the wires to go.

I took the steering wheel off and I am wondering where I go next, do I take the four big bolts that hold the steering col. to the bottom of dash off, or what , I sure could use some sound advise, I am mechanically inclined but I have never been inside one of these. my problem is the whole steering wheel moves around and I am trying to get to the bolts that hold it together in there somewhere........ any advice sure would be appreciated . thanks gents.....Jesse Vasquez @ cierrajane @ windstream.net Van is a 1988 Chevy van G20, with a 350 enjine......

i have a 2000 cavalier with the same anti theft problem. i am not sure if the 2000 has the same anti theft system as the 2004. but here is how i bypassed my system. first remove the steering column cover to gain access to the key cylinder. then disconect the three prong wire that runs from the key cylinder to the wiring harness. then disconect the single black ground wire that runs from the key cylinder to the steering column(on some cavaliers this ground wire may not run to the steering coulmn)next run this ground wire from the key cylinder to the ground wire on the ignition switch.the ignition switch is the rectangular type box that attaches to the back of the key cylinder. (check your manual if you are not sure of this, also the ground wire on the ignition switch is the smallest black wire on this switch, use a volt meter to make sure you are connecting to ground.) turn the key to run position and check for voltage where the three prong wire plugs into the harness. i had 5+ volts on one wire and 12+ vots on the other, the third wire was neutral.( at that time the system was in anti theft mode. ) next start the car the system should be now disabled. the theft system light will remain lit on the dash because it's no longer sending a signal to the computer. you can remove the instrument cluster and pull this light bulb,leave it the way it is or cover it. I've not had a single starting problem since i did this on my car.

i suspect there is a way to bypass this system also by using a resistor. would like to know if anyone has tried this. good luck

Check the fluid level. If the fluid level is OK, put the van in reverse on a parking lot and drive it around in reverse. Then try it to see if it will shift into 2nd. If it does shift then, it may be just a clogged filter. If it still will not shift into 2nd you may have to take it over to Cottman and have them check it out.
