the right rear side of the car, behind the tire, it is the rightmost side of the trunk of the car, there is a black plastic panel. it is behind that panel. you access it from outside the car.

the fuel pump is located in the gas tank

It is on the passenger side of the transmission bell housing.

Engine overheat, low oil pressure, or alternator voltage.

Chrysler does not use inertia or cutoff switches. The fuel system is computer controlled with relays.

You might want to check the cable first.My wife has a 1992 and the cable was just caught.And did not need repair.

The engine holds six quarts.

It maybe that the starter has locked up. Have someone turn the key as you lightly tap the starter housing with a hammer. If it frees and starts, you've located the problem, a bad starter.

Water pump replacement, mitsi transvers 3.0, roadside method. assuming you've done water pumps and timing belts before. If you have coolant dripping from the block adjacent to the power steering pump, your water pump is shot. it is buried behind the timing cover and is driven by the timing belt. with care to not screw up the timing, this is a three to five hour job for us backyard wrenches. the motor must be supported and the passenger side motor mount removed. the a/c and p/s pumps must be moved out of the way. look for a hole in the p/s pulley to get at those two. when you get to the lower plastic timing cover,, it's best to remove the crank pulley and harmonic balance (BIG impact and balance puller). I had neither and poured hot water on it to soften the cover and yanked it out. by putting a thin strip of metal between it and the timing belt when I was done, I got it back in. there will be cursing involved with this method. the rear of the water pump has an O ring that makes the now loose pump seem stuck on. pull it straight out. it'll come. be sure to change that O ring, it came with my new pump along with the gaskets. the sheer number of fasteners used to build this motor will make you laugh,, or not. try to keep track of them, and where they came from. especially for the motor mount cover plate, there's one slightly shorter than the others. another discussion site I saw had a pompous note regarding your question. "if you don't know where it is, you shouldn't be working on it". I'm a decent wrench,, and I had no clue either. good luck B

The "v" belt is for the air conditioning. The serpentine belt is for the power steering and alternator.

Six cylinder, on the front behind the engine mount. Four cylinder, rear of the engine under the exhaust manifold.

if its like my 93 new yorker it should be under the glove box just keep taking off stuff till you find it

It is inside the HVAC housing behind the glove box.

The fuel pump is in the tank. The filter is just in front of the tank.

It is on the Drivers side fender. There are three relays on the outer fender very close together. One relay for airconditioner compressor clutch one for the fan. If the Fan does not work try turn the airconditioner on and it starts a minute later its not the fan relay. A temperature switch has most likely failed located by the thrermostat. Unplug the switch by the thermostat and the fan should automatically run when engine is started

The 1948 Chrysler New Yorker and most Chrysler products from the 1940s were not (and are not) very valuable. They were the "working mans" semi-lower-scale-luxury car. That notwithstanding, you will find listings in various degrees of restoration from 500-28,000, but please understand, it is generally not a car that you can make money with. The reasons are simple; they have limited appeal, the parts are difficult (or impossible) to find and ultimately...should you find a way to go back in time and bring one to present day from the factory it would only be worth about $8,000.00. The problem is that people sometimes think that because they put thousands of dollars into a restoration, they should be able to get it back. That is the case with the higher end of the listed vehicles, the restorer has had to invest too much money in the process.

if you have air shocks, they are out of air. ther is a valve right below your license plate. just put air in like you would for your tires with a regular air pump at any gas station.

To drain the radiator of a 1993 Chrysler New Yorker, you have to open the petcock on the radiator completely and drain the coolant into a container.

well open the hood on the plastic skirt along the windshield there will be 6 plug caps remove these and take a Phillips screw driver to take out the screws. then remove the wiper blades and slid it up over the arms then you will need a 9mm socet and take out the center screw that holds the lower arm assembly toghether then take out the 3 screws in the triangular shape and boom out pops the motor just unplug the wires

It is screwed into the exhaust manifold on the back of the engine.

The owners manual on my 5th Ave says 18 us Gal

Get a 13/16" spark plug socket and remove one plug at a time. Gap the new plug at .035. They are NOT pre gapped at the factory and you'd better make sure you check them. If you're not sure how, ask the guy where you buy them to show you how. Apply a small amount of anit-sieze compound to the threads and put the new plug in. After you get the new plug in, remove the wire from the distributor cap by pulling it straight out. Find a new wire as close to the same length as you can and put it in the cap and then on the plug. If you'll do it like this for all eight plugs, there's no way you can get the wires crossed. If you yank all of the plugs and wires out at once, you'll then have to get #1 piston up on top dead center on compression stroke and then remove the distribuor cap and see where #1 wire should go. The firing order is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2 and it rotates clockwise. Really a simple job. Shouldn't take you more than an hour.
