Can you create a wireless network by sharing the connection from a 3G USB modem with Windows ICS and a crossover cable into a wireless router?

Yes its possible, just enable ICS and and provide IP address to wireless router as follows

IP 192.168.0.5

Subnet 255.255.255.0

Gateway 192.168.0.1

DNS 192.168.0.1

And use normal lan port of your router to connect ICS PC instead of WAN port.

What SCSI device must be terminated?

The final SCSI device in the chain of devices must be terminated. If you have only one device and it's attached to a SCSI port, you must terminate that device. If you have two or more SCSI devices that are linked together and to a shared SCSI Port ie: SCSI Port, Device #1, Device #2, etc, then the final device in the 'chain' must be terminated to allow for proper recognition. The SCSI Port also requires a terminator as well.

What is the type of expansion slot is only used for graphics?

I read from a website, it says there are 3 main types which are PCI-E (Express), PCI, and AGP. But what makes me unsure about this is that I found that Wikipeida wrote there many more other types. Take a look at related links below.

//Correction

AGP is use only for graphics.

What is the BTB?

The BTB stands for:

Bromothymol Blue

Mostly used for testing the water if there is acid or not.

Where could one purchase a mini PCI?

One can purchase a mini PCI when one goes to stores like Canadian Tire, Home Hardware. This adapter can also be purchased at websites like Amazon and eBay.

How do multiple core processors work and what process does the manufacturer use to clock the hertz?

A "core" is all the circuitry needed for one CPU. Early processors like 8080A, Z80, 6502, 8088, 68000 and so on contained one core per package. If you wanted to build a multiprocessor computer with single-core chips, you had to put multiple chips in the machine. Apple made a few of them, but not very many people bought them because only a few programs could use multiprocessing. Photoshop has supported multiprocessing for a long time, so most of the people who bought those machines were serious Photoshop pros.

The "multiple core" processors they sell today are made with multiple CPUs in the same package. To get the multicore feature to work, they wrote support for it into the operating system, and now all programs can use it.

A CPU's hertz is clocked by multiplying a reference frequency from a crystal oscillator. You might have a 3GHz chip, say, but there's no way in the world you'd want 3GHz radio frequency running around inside your computer - microwave and near-microwave frequencies are REAL picky about the circuits they're in. If you didn't have an expansion board shoved all the way in, you could wind up jamming all the satellite dishes in your neighborhood. But in the CPU, which can be properly shielded, they're fine.

Four bit up counter using J K flip flop?

this question doesn't even freaking make sense, but I know how it feels like to completely and utterly fail at electronics GCSE and go on a surrealist ramble.

What is a Ripple Pattern?

A riipple pattern is for example, if you touch the water with your finger, you throw a rock, or it starts to rain it will make a pattern in the water like circles around circles around circles!

What is the use of the extra segment in a 8086 processor?

extra segment is a 16-bit register containing address of 64KB segment, usually with program data. By default, the processor assumes that the DI register points to the ES segment in string manipulation instructions. ES register can be changed directly using POP and LES instructions. It is possible to change default segments used by general and index registers by prefixing instructions with a CS, SS, DS or ES prefix. any corrections most welcome

What is unipolar or monopolar device?

Bipolar refers to something that has two distinct (often opposite) characteristics and Unipolar has only one of those characteristics. For example all magnets are bipolar because every magnet has both a North and a South pole. All protons are unipolar because every proton has only a positive charge. Some people are said to have bipolar personalities because they have two distinct personalities which are frequently very different from each other.

What is enzyne?

enzymes are catalyst used in biochemical reactions.it speed up reactions by reducing its activation energy.mostly enzymes are protein in nature.

What is ripples at the beginning of time?

That depends on what you mean by ripples at the beginning of time. If you are referring to inflation of the universe caused by the Big Bang, and the subsequent "ripples", then those ripples are the leftover, background radiation from the event.

If you are referring to ripples in space-time, then it still could have multiple meanings. Space itself can "ripple" in a wave-like fashion when affected by gravity.

What is nplify 802.11b g n?

Not sure what you mean by nplify. 802.11b g & n are all wireless protocols that are used by Wi-Fi. All wireless on computers are not Wi-Fi.

b has speeds up to 11mbs

g has speeds up to 54mbs

n has speeds up to 160mbs

These are MAX speeds, real speeds are usually a good bit slower, plus Wi-Fi is half-duplex, which means that it only transmits in only one direction at a time.

What is the average cost of a gigabyte?

As of 2010-01-19, an internal terabyte hard drive costs about $100, so a gigabyte costs about 10 cents USD.

2010-10-30 (October 30):

For the Western Digital 2 TB My Book Essential Desktop External Hard Drive, per gigabyte:

  • 7.5 Canadian cents
  • 5 cm3 (which is a 1.7 x 1.7 x 1.7 cm box)
  • 1.4 grams

(Two TB comes in a 14.1 x 17.5 x 20.2 cm box)

Why is the vertical scanning very slow in comparison to horizontal scanning?

Vertical scanning = Scanning all ports on one or more host ..and Horizontal scannig =scanning one port on many host. When someone is performing vertical scanning, he/she is interested in any open ports and launching an attack on it from a Database of vulnerabilities. The objective is to attack , no matter what kind of attack it is. On the other hand - horizontal scanning attempts to launch a particular type of attack , so it is interested in only a particular open port in different host. Vertical scanning has more number of ports to scan than horizontal scanning. Hence it takes more time - making it slower than horizontal scanning.

How is a virtual port connected and used?

Virtual Ports Virtual Ports are used in TCP and UDP to identify unique end-to-end connections. They are called 'virtual ports' because a single physical connector can serve multiple connections. Each side of a connection uses its own port number, which does not change during the life of that connection.

Client-Server PairingsAll TCP and UDP traffic utilizes a client-server scheme, so there is always a client port and a server port used for every connection.

A pair of fields within the TCP and UDP headers is used to track the source and destination Virtual Port Numbers used for that socket connection. Each field in the header is sixteen bits wide, so the value in the field can range from 0 - 65534. Each computer host uses a unique IP address, and also uses a unique source and destination port pairings to identify that specific connection between the two computers. Typically, when your computer connects to a website, it connects to the destination website on port 80 (the default port for HTTP / web traffic). A different source port on the local host is used. At one time, this port number was the next number above 1024 that wasn't already in use for another connection. For example, the first website connection would be set up on the source port of 1025 and the second connection on 1026. If the 1025 port is no longer needed and is closed, and another port is needed, then 1025 would be used.

Today, to defeat hackers, computer systems are choosing the source port at random as hackers can predict this behavior and hijack sessions by predicting new connections being opened.

Servers run network services, these services are bound to a virtual port and listen for communication on that virtual port. It is possible for multiple clients to connect to the same service and thus, use the same destination port number when connecting to the server. Because each client uses a unique IP address and port number, the server can keep track of up to 65534 connections per host.

However, whether the port number is the source, or the destination port depends on which side is currently transmitting information. The client and server asynchronously transmit and receiving information using these ports.
