In a 2009 matiz you must gently pop out the housing (silver) from above the heating controls all the way up to the dials. It is one piece. Start at the bottom and move gently upwards. When this is done you will see the screws to remove both left and right. There are brackets screwed into the sides of the head unit which you will need to remove also. If you want to replace with a different model the bad news is you will need a new housing and cable adaptor (from halfords for about £12). Its a pain in the backside but can be done. Once you have the new parts, follow your common sense and then gently replace the housing from the top first and then applying equal pressure all the way down until it clicks fully in. Hope this helps, wish I had found an answer before I started! :)

It is located on the sump pan under the engine. It is the large single nut at the lowest point.

The chassis number is on the edge of the hood , under thr wind screen when the hood is open in the middle

They make a SPECIAL glue/grease that goes on the back of the pad- NOT THE ROTOR SIDE.also MAKE SURE ALL the ANTI- RATTLE clips are on the pads & the pad Mounts.(end where the pad slides)

Well the answer is simple.Pull up the back seat of you'r Matiz n you can see the fuel pump.There is an electric jack which has a sliding lock.Slide that lock on the opposite side to remove the electrical connection,then there are 3 pipes,for air located in the center,the fuel pipe connected to the vertical nozzle and another pipe which brings the unused fuel back to the pump.Carefully open them up,remove the bolts with a spanner and then pull it up. Fit in u'r new pump by repeating the procedure vice versa and u'r done. It's at the front, right side, just visible by peering down and rearwards, about in line with the front turn indicator. I have not yet changed mine, but it's obvious that it is NOT acessible from below, so have to reach down, beside/behind radiator. REMOVE YOUR WATCH ! It needs a small hand - no large gorillas could manange it. It is mounted horizontally, with its base facing forwards. Terry Reed its on the front of the engine below the exhaust manifold (the engine end of the exhaust where it splits into 3), access is improved if you remove the airfilter assembly (you only need a flathead screwdriver and a small 10ml socket to do this), and also remove the exhaust manifold heatguard (again a 10ml socket). Once you've figured out these bits and how to remove them, you'll have more arm room to throw at the oil filter. Drain the oil from the sump of the warm engine first and having then refitted the sump plug and new filter you are ready to pour in the new oil. -- another tip -- Don't bother removing the air filter assembly or the manifold heatguard. I found it easy enough to do if you stand alongside the drivers wing facing in the same direction as the car. Reach down with your left hand and grasp the filter and unscrew it. It should be on tight so should be fairly easy to undo. You won't be able to see what you are doing as your arm will block your vision and also you are facing away from the car but it shouldn't be too hard to screw the new one on. cheers laughing_cavalier. -- another tip --- Dont forget to smear a thin film of oil over the new oil filter rubber seal. If its dry and you have done a good job of cleaning away all the excess old oil in the filter housing, the seal will snag and you will end up with a slow oil leak from the filter. -- it is on the right of the generator" dynamo" and it has a special belt in garages specilaized in oil change and greasing

Mass Air Flow MAF sensor could be your, problem check that!

I use a Gendan ( http://www.gendan.co.uk/product_STN327.html ) PC based diagnostic tool that can be used for all OBD-II cars with the D-shaped socket. It's a bit more expensive than some but it was guaranteed to work and comes with an easy to use piece of software. But rather annoyingly the version needs to be upgraded if you want the more advanced oxygen sensor diagnostics.

Some fault codes which cause the warning light to come on will clear themselves after a certain number of ignition sequences if the fault is no longer occurring. Give it a week or two and the light may clear. Failing that buy a code reader on eBay for about £20. You'll need a OBD II reader. You can clear the codes with it if you want.

Of course you should fix the cause of the fault as well!

May not be so simple . I bought such a reader and it does not give any info .Matiz seems to be a bit of a one off .tread carefully or you will be £20+ worse off and non the wiser. If you do or have cracked it please post type of scanner used.
