Where's the battery located on a 1998 dodge stratus?
The batary is located under the trunk of your car were your spare tire should be. I have a 1998 Stratus and have replaced the battery. It is located in the front driver's side wheel well! You can get to it (easiest) by removing the wheel on that side.
How do you know if the timing belt needs to be change on a 2003 Dodge Stratus?
I don't know if Dodge give a recommended interval for changing it. I think I would do it about 60,000-75,000 myself. If it is an interference engine, do it at 60,000 for sure. If the belt breaks, the engine will turn over quicker from less resistance but will not start. change it!! A new belt with 50 miles on it will look like a belt with 50,000 miles on it...!! Check out the Gates website to see if this is a interference engine(valves impact the piston when belt breaks), if so..DO IT TOMORROW...if not, when it breaks you;ll have to tow it, and miss a job interview, or have a baby on the side of the road...etc..so either way...DO IT! JUST DO IT! :) also...everyone should have a manual for their vehicle, and the local library should have a professional shop manual available, to make copies of, in the Reference section...good luck:)
Where can you find a diagram of how to replace a starter on a 1999 Dodge stratus?
You don't need a diagram, just disconnect the Neg battery cable (black one) then follow the pos battery cable down under the car to the engine block where the starter lives.Remove the 2 or 4 bolts and 1 or 2 or 3 wires and then drop it on your hand because your arms are tired from wrenching. Rebuild old starter or buy new one and crawl back under car reattach wires and wiggle starter back into hole the old one came out of. Good luck you sound like you could use it.

How do you change the timing belt on a 1999 dodge stratus and how do you replace the pin?
Keep the owner's manual handy throughout repair. Disconnect the negative batter cable, and remove the distributor cap, if the car has one. Use a wrench to rotate the engine until the timing mark on the crankshaft pulley is aligned with a 0 on the timing scale. Verify the distributor rotor is aligned with the index mark on the distributor housing, which indicates the rotor is in position to fire the number one cylinder. Remove any components that will interfere with the removal of the timing belt cover, and remove also the bolts or screws holding the timing cover in place. Remove the cover from the engine. Check for proper alignment of the crank and camshaft timing marks. Check carefully the area around the belt for signs of oil leakage from the seals, valve cover, and oil pan. Loosen the timing belt tensioner and the mounting bolts holding it, but do not remove the tensioner. Pivot the spring loaded tensioner away from the belt and then retighten the mounting bolts to hold the tensioner in the loose position. Examine the tensioner pulley for damage like dents or cracks. Spin the pulley and listen for a rattle or hum that would indicate worn or loose bearings. With the tension on the belt relieved, the belt should slide easily off the sprockets. When reassembling, pay attention to the torque limits outlined in the manual.

How do you change battery 2006 dodge stratus?
The manual says you don't have to remove the wheel, just turn it to the right. FALSE! There is no possible way to get at all the push plugs. You need to remove the driver front tire, have it jacked up. There are three sheet metal like screws on the edge that needs to be removed first. There are 3 plugs that sit on a line that sits on the top that needs to be removed, be careful not to destroy them as you need to reuse them. Its a 2 part plug. There is one in the inner portion against the frame. There are 2 on the bottom that are different, that are 2 parts too, though larger. These are similar to a anchor and plug type, be careful not to destroy them as they need to be reused. Pull the wheel well cover back and this will expose the battery and everything is straight forward from there. You will see that there is no way to remove the battery with the tire on.
It is possible with the tire, but is easier with it off.
