Drain plug leaking from over-tightening plug cure; remove the radiator drain plug, retain anti-freeze-mix to re-install. Take the plug to your local well stocked "good" auto parts store. Tell them you need a self tapping and threading replacement plug one (1) size over. Also note while removing the plug wheather the radiator is brass or alum. If the radiator is alum., I would have a new alum. bunt installed by a qualified alum welder. Check the alum welder's rates, sometimes they may charge $125.00 just to " lite the torch ". If his rates are way outa-sight, you or a qualified machine shop can tap the plug opening to one size over. This is a relativily small job for a busy machine shop so don't expect same day or even next day service. I would expect that you do not have an alum. radiator, unless someone installed a replacement heavy duty towing radiator. If you do it yourself; while threading in replacement plug, and when new threads have 'caught' go 1/4 turn, then back off 1/8 turn, then go foreward again 1/4 turn, then back 1/8 turn, repeat until 1/2 way in, at this point back the plug all the way out. Now clean threads on plug and threads in radiator, repeat threading procedure above. Once done; flush radiator to remove any loose metal, metal left in system may cause premature wearout of water pump.

I don't believe you can because the oil pan on vans are double sump pans and there wouldn't be anyway to get the pan out of the way because of the crossmember.

How do you replace a heater core in a 97 ford cargo van?
In order to change the heater core on most vehicles you have to remove the Air Handling Unit (evaporator case) from under the dash. In most cases you have to remove the entire dash in order to get the case out. (the case is the big black thing under the instrument panel, mostly on the passenger side.) Im order to get the case out you have to remove the nuts from the bolts that go through the fire wall. Next you have to pump down the AC system and unhook the evap. core at the TXV (near firewall). The next step is to remove the heater core lines at the firewall. (ALL 3 of these are done in the engine caompartment.) Now is where you would remove the instrument panel, and the AC system duct work. After all that you should be able to get the Air Handling Unit out. once the caseis out you have to take out the screws that hold the center seam together, and whatever else may be in the way (actuator linkages, wireharnesses, etc, etc.) Once you have "split" the case you should simply be able to pull the heater core out and put in the new. Reverse the process to put back together. Hope this helps.

How do you swap a factory amfmcass stereo in a Ford E150?
The first thing you need to do is remove the outer panel of the dashboard that surrounds the radio. This varies from year to year, but you'll find that there are some lag screws around the bottom panel. You may need to pop off some plastic trim to get at these screws. Once you've got the panel off, you need to pop out the radio. This can be done with the Ford radio removal tool (which costs money) or with a DIY device made by cutting a wire coat hanger and shaping two "U" type tools (which is free). Slide them in the holes (2 on each side) and put slight outside pressure on the tools and the factory radio will slide right out. Disconnect the wiring assembly and the antenna cable, and you have a clean slot, ready for your next head unit assembly. The radio removal tool may also come with some new stereos or installation kits specific to Ford Vans.
It is probably because the sensor under the seat for the seat belt has disconnected
--Same thing happened to me. The light would go out when I pulled on the seatbelt. The reason was the simple fact that the belt was twisted before it came out of the shoulder "bracket". Oh... The sensor is in the door post, not under the seat. I also thought of that eventuality and checked. Nope, no sensor under the seat!
How do you program the HomeLink garage door opener on a Windstar?
Here's what my 2001 Owner's Manual (see "Related Questions") says: 1) Prepare for programming the HomeLink Universal Transceiver by erasing the three factory default codes by holding down the 2 outside buttons until the red light begins to flash after 20 seconds. Release both buttons. 2) Hold the end of your hand-held transmitter 2-5 inches away from the HomeLink Universal Transceiver surface (located on your visor) while keeping the red light in view. 3) Using both hands, simultaneously press and hold the hand-held transmitter button and the desire HomeLink button. Do not release these buttons until step 4 has been completed(!) 4) The red light on the visor will flash slowly and then rapidly. Release both buttons when the red light flashes rapidly. Repeat for the other buttons as needed. It's been 5 years since I had to program mine, but it's still working like a champ. :)
Garage door opener programmingFirst of all; no "garage door opener" came in or on a 1998 Windstar. That said; you may have a "garage door opener" in your Windstar that someone put there. This was probably done by the owner of the garage door opener that was installed in the garage where the Windstar is parked. To reprogram such an opener you need to see the instruction sheet that came with the opener. If this is not available, the manufacturers customer service department should be contacted.
Actually it did!The above is incorrect, The 98 Windstar LX came with a garage door opener built into the driver's sun visor. I know because I have one! However, I could not get it to work when I followed the instructions in the Owner's Manual, so it's merely a curiosity for now.
If it's a Home Link like in a 2001I've linked the instructions provided from the 2001 Owner's Manual in another FAQ to the right. See if they'll work for you.
Not All Windstar 98 LX have itI have a Windstar 98 LX too, but I don't have a garage door opener.Find wiring diagram for 1994 ford econoline van?

How do you remove steering wheel 61 ford econoline?
1st you need to remove the horn button. Push down and twist to the left, watch for the spring. Remove the large nut. You then need a steering wheel puller to mount to the wheel hub. If you dont have one buy or borrow one. You can remove the wheel with one person pulling up on the wheel and another resting a drift on the steering shaft and hitting it but I dont recommend this way. It is a "press fit" so after a bit of pulling it will pop loose. Econoline Connection Raleigh NC
