What is a Thermo Time Switch?

A thermo time switch is a temperature sensor device normally used to turn on a cold start injector in German cars. The cold start injector is an extra injector normally mounted in the intake manifold. The thermo time switch will allow current through it to your cold start injector for a few seconds ( 3 - 8 depending on the make and model of car ) when the engine is cold and first started. This puts extra fuel in the system and helps it start. If your thermo time switch fails you may have a hard time starting when cold or, more commonly, a difficult time starting the car when hot. The problem in the latter case is the extra injector flooding the car when trying to start it.

Where is the transmission fluid dipstick on a 1992 ford 350 engine located?

mine is located to the left of the engine center line, this is facing the engine with hatch open. Look for the wiring harness bundle along the top of the compartment, at about one third of the way from the engine and the left side, again facing the van. You must pull the wiring harness down a little,or separate the different bundles, to reveal a yellow cap top which is the tranny dipstick, it's about five+ feet long once you extract it. This is quite hidden and may take a little time finding it. Once found you can pull the dipstick, insert a tranny filler funnel into the filler tube and add fluids. Good luck, it can get frustrating..

Inserting the dipstick is done by turning it a little as you push it in, make sure you clean it up , free from any rust ,etc. before installing.

1994 ford e350 7.5L 460 engine missing after complete check?

Don't want to sound brash but your complete check was not so complete if it didn't find the problem. A complete check will narrow down your problem to just a couple of choices on a engine miss problem. I would redo your complete check

Ford e350 air conditioning?

What are the procedures for replacing the starter on a 1993 Ford E-350 with a 7.5 liter engine?

I changed my starter last night on my 94 E-350 van and it was reletively easy. there is 2 mounting bolts with a 1/2" socket and I used plenty of extentions to get past the transmission because the exhaust pipe is right under the upper bolt facing the rear of the vehicle. the lower bolt is facing the front and is easy to get. once the bolts are out, the starter falls right out and hangs by the batter wire. a 14MM wrench took the nut off the solenoid and the small wire is just a blade connector and now the starter is in your hand. be careful not to allow the starter to drop on the ground and damage it! You should always remove the batter connections under the hood so you dont short out the electrical system and blow up the batteries! if anyone has any ideas on how to remove the alternator on this beast, I would love to hear from you! I have a bad short somewhere in my electrical system, the batteries (dual) read 15.5V at the post, but when the engine was running, the headlights were dim and the 2 dash volt meters (one stock, one aftermarket) read only 9V and now I cant even jump start it. I am taking the batteries to an auto parts store to be tested. I really hope the batteries are weak and wont keep or hold a charge, if they test good, then I have to find a short somewhere in the body!

How do you install an after market tachometer in a 99 ford e350?

Under the hood, near to the center of the vehicle, behind or just to the right of the air cleaner assembly there are three factory provided (for Where_do_you_connect_a_tach_on_a_1994_e350or optional upgrades) BLUNT ENDED wires. They usually have what appears to be about 1.5 inches of black heat-shrink on them.

One of them is white with a small pink stripe and is usually tagged as "CTO".

It is the Controlled Tachometer Output. A filtered circuit reducing interference from the other systems giving you a truer tachometer reading.

Most tachometer manufacturers use a Where_do_you_connect_a_tach_on_a_1994_e350wire for their TACH INPUT. Connect the green lead to the CTO wire.

What are loop-back plugs?

Exact definition of loop-back plugs will depend on what application we are talking about. Mostly these are connector plugs with a metal inside to short two electrical signals. There can be loopback plugs for different applications. These can be for a serial port or an Ethernet port or loopback plugs for specific signals on a connector or on a printed circuit board. These are very useful for debugging and testing an electronics problem. E.g. one can do a loopback on PC serial port's Transmit and Receive (Tx and Rx) lines using a loopback plug or a metal short to see if the serial port is working fine. Similarly Ethernet ports can be tested with a loop-back plug made for the purpose. - Neeraj Sharma

Where is the PCV on a 04 5.4 e350?

It is located on the passenger side valve cover. It is plastic and blue in color and about 2" long. You need to twist it 90 degrees to remove it. I bought mine at the dealer for $21 and some change. All the auto parts stores gave me the little steel one which doesn't come close to fitting. The parts guy at the dealership was scratching his head too. The one they show on the internet sights is not the one for this truck.

How do you remove armrests?

hello is anybody there ?

What year and model might help.

Simple. Lower the armrest, then push IN HARD. The armrest will push in slightly towards the seat. When this happens, push DOWN on the armrest, twisting it until just about straight downwards. You'll feel the armrest loosen up. Jiggle it slightly while PULLING OUT on it-- it should then pull out of the seatback. After it's out, you'll see it operates by a pin on the armrest shaft that fits into a keyhole on the seat.

Why do your Ford E-350 Ford Van running lights flash on and off?

You have a faulty headlight switch. It's too much of a load on the headlight switch to run all the lights at the same time. You should run a separate light switch for the running lights.
