Behind the removable plastic panel in the cargo area on the drivers side and if it has air suspension there is a switch there to shut off the system before jacking the vehicle up

If it is the dash switch ( to turn the headlights on), then you have to take the dash a part. If it is the switch on the column, you have to remove your ignition lock cylinder (put the key in and turn it to on, NOT start, and poke the pin in the bottom of the cylinder, then pull the cylinder out of the column). Remove the steering column cover (top and bottom). The switch is held on by 2 Torx screws. THIS SWITCH IS THE MOST COMMON CAUSE OF FORD HEADLIGHT RELATED PROBLEMS

The Engine Immobilizer Indicator Light is supposed to flash continually when your key is removed from the ignition because it is part of the security/alarm system. The engine immobilizer is the " kill switch " that will not allow the engine to be started without your key which has a microchip in the top ( the black part of the key ). When the EII Light is flashing it indicates that that part of the alarm system is active and working. If the light does not blink when key is removed THEN it needs to be fixed.

footwell , under the front edge of the carpet , mounted on the toe board

just to the right of the transmission hump . I believe that is where the

inertia switch was on my 1993 Ford Explorer

When you open the door, you should see the sensor, looks like marker cap sticking out either from the door or from the car body, check all around, and press it, do this to all doors and truck, if you have a station wagon. If the door ajar still doesn't stop, than you need to remove this and replace it, or you can super glue it and forget about it.

IF IT IS YOUR WATER PUMP LEAKING THERE IS A TELL TAIL HOLE RIGHT ON THE PUMP THAT DRIPS IF THE PUMP SEAL IS FAILING. IF THE WATER IS LEAKING FROM ABOVE THE PUMP IT IS LIKELY THE INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKET. THIS IS QUITE COMMON ON 4 LITRE ENGINES.IF THE LEAK IS NOT TO BAD I WOULD LEAVE IT,I RAN MY LIKE THAT FOR OVER 150,000 KMS. THE BILL TO REPAIR WOULD BE 500.00 DOLLARS EASY.

advanced auto parts stores will give yo ua print out of ALL the fluid requirements for that explorer. the same data is in the books that came with the explorer, if you still have them.

In the power distribution box in the engine compartment there is a 30

amp maxi-fuse for the power windows/power locks/ and power seats. it is in the second row from the driver's side front fender and it is in the 3rd spot from the firewall. ( I hope that makes sense ! ) DISCONNECT YOUR NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE - THE PD BOX IS LIVE !

Remove the four instrument panel screws. On an automatic transmission model you must also remove 2 screws and detach the gearshift indicator cluster. When you pull it out partially.. disconect the speedometer cable from the back. Once you have it out you will see all of the instrument bulbs on the back. Please disconnect your battery anytime your working around or near your airbag system.

your engine is "missing" suspect problem in ignition or vacuum systems. check plugs,wires,timing, possible vacuum leak look for broken or cracked hoses. also check for clogged fuel filter, cracked distributor cap, and faulty egr valve
