The standard firing order for a 4 cyl engine is 1 3 4 2. However if i remember right i think fords set there engines up with the 1 2 4 3 configuration. Try either of these and im sure one will work for you. Hope this helps

Just done my mums this morning.
Pull of the fuse box cover from the bottom and put it aside, look under the steering wheel at the part where you just took the cover off (It looks like black metal with holes in it)
Look up in the left hand side of this (right up, a torch is needed) and you should see a top of a blue fuse (15amp) in a black casing (It may have another fuse next to it but you want the blue fuse at the front) pull this up and replace even if it dodn't look blown as mine looked fine but on replacing it my boot release works fine!

How do you fit oil filter for Ford Fiesta 1.4tdci 2004?
Oil filter change - Fiesta 1.4Tdci.
The oil filter on the 1.4tdci is mounted on the right-hand side of the engine block (as you look in under the bonnet) and is in a black plastic housing which unscrews to expose a replaceable paper element filter. The filter housing points upwards at a slight angle, and looks like a fat black bottle with a hexagonal cap.
To get at it, first remove the front section of the air pipe which passes over it. This section of pipe can be taken out by removing the single screw and flexing the end of it out of the bracket above the radiator, then twisting and pulling it out of the connecting collar next to the air-filter.
Stuff some rag or kitchen roll around the base of the filter housing.
I find a 11/16" socket fits the hexagon, so a 27mm socket should fit. I read that this diesel engine is actually a Peugeot design, and Peugeot, being cleverer than Ford, seem to use those sizes where Metric or Imperial will both fit - for instance, the sump plug can be removed with a spark-plug socket, which can be a new 21mm or old 7/16" Whitworth.
Use a socket and extension and unscrew the complete housing. It'll take bit of gentle force to get it moving, and because it's plastic, it tends to flex. The housing may come off complete with the paper filter plugged into it.
The new filter will come with a new rubber-band seal which fits into a groove above the screw-thread. Push the new filter into the housing, offer it up to the engine and rote it until the plastic lug drops into its socket. Then screw the housing in by hand for a few turns to ensure it isn't cross-threaded, then tighten it with the socket spanner. Replace the air hose. Then use that kitchen roll to wipe that black oil off your hands!
Start the engine and ensure that the housing isn't leaking. (It won't be).

In truth, Fords are generally quite reliable little motors, especially the new Ford Fiesta and KA. The KA for reasons being, that actually it isn't to dissimilar in all the parts used on its elder sister, the Fiesta.
Fords of old have rusted away to the point where (to use Clarkson' phrase) if you put your foot on the door sill it's like putting your foot through paper mache. Ford, however, seems to have fixed the majority of the issues where the body is concerned.

Do also watch out for Ford's policy when changing springs. They have a clause where if one spring breaks due to "metal fatigue" they will replace both of the say front springs, if it is the passenger front side that has snapped for they claim... "safety reasons", if your that worried about our safety Ford, why use the faulty things in the first place.
If your car is still within warranty, ask Ford to replace the affected tyre for FREE as you possibly will have damaged it if driving when the failure occurs. If they kick up a fuss, have a quite word in the ear of your local trading standards, quoting the Supply and Sale of Goods Act 1979, and Ford will soon whip that tyre off and replace it on the house.

French cars are all about as reliable as a sieve, if we say reliability is its ability to retain water! Yes, engines are just about bullet proof, though I wouldn't like to put that to the actual literal test, but every other component seams to go wrong around them, with the exception of Renault who appears to be breaking the French faulty car mould.
Not only that, French, and Italian cars are all designed so that the engines compartments are so tightly packed, that the cost of services are astronomical, when something does inevitably go wrong. Mechanic's have to spend forever getting at pretty basic parts, like spark plugs etc, and so this bumps the price of your service up.
In conclusion then. Ford's are a good make these days, just so long as you remember to keep your eye on those springs, and remember, when you come to buy a new car, have a look under the hood, just to see if the car is dead tight. You can guarantee that if it is, it will cost a fortune to upkeep, once it reaches breaking point. Hope this answers your questions!

My advice is to buy an old Peugeot 205 1.9 Diesel, they are damn near indestructible and will see 250,000 miles easily. But do yourself a favour, make sure you get one with power steering, they are very heavy engines to have sitting on top of your front wheels.
