What is wrong when several spark plugs are dripping with oil on a 95 Ford Thunderbird V8?

It seems to me that this would be a drastic engine break, maybe a cracked piston or cracked cylinder. Although with multiple cylinders showing signs of oil leakage, I would lean more towards bad head gaskets, leaking fresh oil into the cylinders. A way to check this is to remove the oil filler cap with the engine running and see if there is a significant amount of "blow by" air coming out of it. Also if your radiator is loosing fluid, or your exhaust is white with steam, this would be a sign of a faulty head gasket. If it is just one side, or row, of cylinders, I would check both the head gasket, and the intake manifold gasket to make sure they are in good working order.

How do you repair power door locks on a 1988 Ford Thunderbird?

You need to first check your relays to make sure they are passing power, then check your switches to see if they are passing power, and if so, you will need to remove the interior panel on the door, (Some plastic clips and a couple screws/bolts located near the door opening lever should do it) Once this is removed, you'll look to the bottom left corner and you'll see a cylinder covered in black rubber. There is one rivet holding this to the car along the jamb, drill the rivet out and twist the lock motor gently off the hook attached to the actual locking mechanism. You will need to either re-rivet the new motor/solenoid into place, or use a small bolt/nut to hold it there. Reassemble.

How do you replace the power steering pulley on a 1992 Ford Thunderbird?

Most Ford power steering Pulleys are pressed on.There should be a 1" diameter hub in the center, front of the pulley with a small groove around it.This groove is where the tool connects.A two armed wheel puller with hooks facing inward, can be used, but it's very difficult. Most vehicles don't allow enough room to remove the pulley, requiring removal of the entire pump.I'm not sure if a pulley can be purchased new,it may be a salvage item,If so,you would be getting the entire pump. Most likely around $25.00,since a new pump is about $50.00 new at Advance Auto or Auto Zone. .

ON the 1992 Thunderbird you MUST remove the pulley in order to remove the actual pump.

Most of the major parts chains (AutoZone, O'reilly's, etc.) have the puller in their "loaner" program.

How do you turn off the check engine light on a 1987 thunderbird 2.3l turbo coupe?

I had this problem on a 93 tbird, i had to replace the odometer gear, so while I had the gauge cluster out I removed the bulb from the check engine light. Not recommended, but i figure the dumby codes flash up more often than something serious, and If something obvious happens you will notice. I had an 02 sensor go bad, noticed the rough idle. You can still pull the codes anyways.

Why is your check engine light on in your 1995 ford thunderbird?

The OBDII system in your vehicle has several sensors that monitor conditions and "report" to the system's computer. When a sensor senses a malfunction, a signal is sent to the computer and the Check Engine light will illuminate. To find the malfunction you have to have the sytem scanned by an OBDII scanner tool for the trouble code(s). AutoZone and similar auto supply stores offer free scans.

Where is 1995 tbird flasher relay located?

Please search before posting a question, as there are other answers that may apply. I just replaced this myself on my '90 SC. It's above the gas pedal & a rather large black box (about 2" square) & a pain to remove. I had to order mine from the local ford dealer for about $50, got it popped it right in & the intermittent flashers worked just like they should. It may say hazard unit on it, I can't remember exactly.

Are there 4 door 1967 and 1968 Thunderbird promo cars?

I owned a '67 T-Bird, 4 door. The rear doors were (SUICIDE) doors. I don't know what you mean by "promo" Promos are plastic models dealers gave to prospective buyers of the car. There is a big collectible market for these All 67 and 68 Thunderbird promotionals were modeled after the 2 door base models

If the oil dipstick fell off where does it go?

The "dip stick" usually dips directly into the oil pan, so if it fell "in", it would still be in the oil pan. Now on the other hand if it fell "out" then you would know better where it went;-0 If the top broke off and it fell down the tube it cannot go all the way into the oil pan you can take a small magnet and fish it out. if you don't have a small magnet try holding a biger magnet to a piece of metal such as a long , small screwdriver or another dip stick it will magnatize it and make it stick to the one in the hole. you may also try one of those screw retrivers with the retractable fingers in the end you may be able to get it with that it shouldn't be more than 5 inches down in the tube

How do I stop 1956 thunder bird from overheating?

There are several things that can assist in preventing your 1956 Ford Thunderbird from overheating. In short, The International Thunderbird Club (ITC) recommends you check the following: Use higher octane fuel, install a 160-degree thermostat, ensure the fan belt is at the proper tension, fill the radiator with a 50/50 mix of anti-freeze and water, install the factory optional four-core radiator, install a baffle between the water pump and the spacer for the engine cooling fan, and adjust the timing for 20 inches of manifold vacuum. These checks should ensure many years of driving pleasure in your early bird. Good luck and I hope to see you out on Route 66!

1995 thunderbird 4.6 V8 and you replaced a shredded serpentine belt you installed it according to the diagram and within 30 seconds of starting the engine the new belt was shredded Any suggestions as?

Align those pulleys!Check that all the pulleys are perfectly aligned, then take off coil wire and crank without starting to check alignment. If okay, then make sure the belt is tight. If you still have problems, you may have a frozen component; air conditioner compressor, alternator, etc. Then it's time for a mechanic.

I found that the smog pulley was reversed when put back together by my nephew and his father in law when they changed out the water pump, causing the pulleys to be misaligned and shred belts.
