The rotor turns counterclockwise and the order depends on if you have an engine with a roller cam or a flat tappet cam. If it is a flat tappet cam, it is 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8. If you have a roller cam, it is 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8. You will either have an H.O. motor or not. H.O. is roller motor.

The rule of thumb is 2 years.

This is easily found. Drain the oil and replace the filter. Now pour in 4.5 quarts and start the engine. Let it run for 3 minutes, shut it off and wait 15 minutes. Check the oil and fill until it is full. You now know how much it holds. 1999 E-150 Holds 6 quarts for all engines

and the cooler along with the converter and transaxle

It should be just behind the air cleaner. You can feel back there and find the suction line, then feel along it to find the valve. It will be hard to see. You can access it from the open hood, you shouldn't have to remove the doghouse.

If you are doing the oil and filter??? Add 5 (five) QTS Check the level befor you start the engine. Add another if it is 1 QT low, Check the level . Then start the engine and run for about 5 min. Check the level again, then wait about 5-10 min then recheck. If you are just changing the oil (WHICH NO ONE SHOULD EVER DO) its 5-6 QTS

Installed it myself. Not an easy job and does take time.

check the Vehicle Speed Sensor on the transmission or possibly the rear axle.

I have a 96 4.0. I found the egr valve under the hood, near the battery. It has a small pipe that connects to the exhaust pipe, and is bolted to the drivers side of the engine. It also has vacuum line attached and is either connected with a hose or is ported to the intake manifold. It's been a while since I've messed with it. Mine was not frozen, so I didn't replace it. Of course I'm still getting a trouble code p0401. I now suspect a vacuum leak that prevents the valve from opening properly. I still need to check that out. Good luck.

shown as the last MENU function. Press MENU until SELECT HOUR or

You can find a diagram of the fuse board for a 2002 plate transit van inside the owner's manual. You can also find it in the vehicle's Chilton manual.

In mechanics books it says to set the timing to 6 DBTDC with a timing light, (Caution: this is with all the pollution stuff on the motor)

If you removed the pollution gadgets the timing should be set with a vacuum gauge and the timing will be 12 DBTDC.

It is in the back, driver's side. It is behind the panel. You have to remove alot of panel but once you get there it is not hard to change,
