Begin by removing the brake lines from your 1995 GMC Jimmy brake booster. Remove the brake booster retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install your new brake booster.

heater core is behing the dash on the passengers side and the blower more same side but under the hood up against the fire wall. Its round you cant miss it.

There is a good possibility that GM trucks of that vintage had problems with the headlight switch. Check it before you replace it. Remove the 4 screws at the corners of the dasboard assembly, pull the assembly toward you and you should be able to get to the switch.

Online, for My 1997 Jimmy, I have only been able to find things by specific repair. Sometimes helpful, sometimes not. Often information is contradictory. I have been able to fix most things that way.

On a budget, the next best source for repair manuals is your local library! Mine has Chilton, Haynes and Motors for almost all years and makes of domestic and foreign cars.

Unless you have a Bugatti Veyron or Aston Martin Vanquish.....but then I guess you wouldn't be on a budget.

A service manual is needed especially for tightening the intake manifold bolts back into place in the correct pattern. There are many steps, starting with releasing the pressure in the fuel system and disconnecting the battery. Then you need to remove the throttle body, fuel lines, electrical connections, etcetera to get to the intake manifold. Once the manifold is removed you will be looking into the lifter valley of the motor, make sure to vacuum out any residue and stuff with rags to scrape any old gasket surface off, but do not scratch anything up. The manual will help you determine where to run your sillicone, and when you put the manifold back into place you'll want to hit it dead on to avoid having to move it around. You'll then tighten the bolts on in the pattern indicated to the torque needed. You will need an inch lb. torque wrench. When you get it all back together it's good to leave the key in the on position to get some fuel back in there before you fire er up.

Go under the dash and look for a module that does not look factory. It will have a bunch of colorful wires exiting out of it and all of these wires will be taped on to random wires in your car. Then just cut all the wires off from where they are taped on. The only tricky one may be the starter wire which may have been cut to include a starter kill relay within the remote start. WHen you cut these wires you'll also have to reattach the both sides of the starter wire back together

you would need to change the cylinder heads also.

On a 92 Camaro RS, it is located behind the kick panel on the driver side. It is near the firewall. Had some trouble finding one myself. Mine was tucked up on the right side of the fuse box near the kick panel.

Pull the vinyl cover off of the seat belt, then roll the seat belt back on the roller.

ratchets, both long and short screwdrivers, a metal pan (excess gas), a gas can (to drain the gas out of the tank), a floor jack, 2 x 4s and jack stands. you will need to drop the tank to get the pump out. all of the listed is to detach the fuel reservoir, drop the straps and lower the gas tank. when you do replace it, i would recommend that you consider cutting a access hole in the rear above the tank. it is safer to cut the sheet metal with the tank and gas gone.

the o2 sensor is on the passenger side, in between the chassis and the body, just after the cat...careful replacing that. have the required lubricant, ask your dealer, because it needs to be air tight.

All you need to do is disconnect the vac hose where is meets the throttle intake housing (the one that goes from the EGR to the Carb) and plug it at the intake. Go for a ride and see if the problem still persists....(I'm assuming it it sluggish or almost choking when accelerating from a stop or going up a hill) If there's no problem any more, it is a faulty or stuck EGR and needs replacement.

some cars abs light comes on if your third brake light is not working. check and see if a wire is broken, ect.

I don't know about the Jimmy, specifically, but the fuel sensor on most fuel injected cars are located inside the gas tank, as part of the fuel sender (pump).

It's electronic, check all fuses, also check the connection to the transfer case.

Try listening to the transfer case try to engage. Mine did not engage after an engine wash. The vacuum actuater on the firewall above the distributor was not allowing vacuum to the front axle actator. You can put the truck on jackstands (all 4 wheels) and check to see if the front drive shaft engages. If so, then it's probably the vacuum actuator or the axle actuator.

My 2000 GMC jimmy had 4x4 issues. Were it would intermittently work. After numerous attempts to fix it. I found out that the control module has a metal shell which create a lot of moisture and causes corrosion which lead to the heart of the problem. Here is some home made steps I took which ended up fixing the problem.

1) check that your vacume lines are not dry and brittle, if so replace...cheap fix

2) check the vacume actuator under the battery case. If free and working its OK

3) there is a sensor on the front axle that tells the TCM if it is engaged or not . Make sure it is tightened properly. Mine wasn't.

4) the TCM on the passenger side has a connector issue. With a second person switching it in and out, wiggle the connection to see if it is loose. If so zip tie it . You will hear it engage and disengage.

5)check and clean the vacume valve on the transfer case. This. Should be part of the vacume lines.

This can be many things. Due to the vehicles age, I would first look for a vacuum leak. Replace all vacuum lines one at a time to avoid getting confused. Very cheap fix. Your Check Engine light should be on. If it is, a scan of the computer can also provide a clue. Of course if the plugs and plug wires have not been replaced or have over 75,000 miles on them, then they need replacing.

No, you go in from the passengers side under the dash. it is best to remove the big dash bolt from the body to allow for wiggle room but not required.

Some vehicles are not equipped with a fuel cutoff switch. A 2000 GMC Jimmy is an example of a vehicle that does have a fuel cutoff switch.

this was my same question about a week ago and i checked the vac hoses and they wernt connected... also check the switch and wiring and then there is a encodor switch on the transfer case and if still all fails its time for a new transfercase

Park the vehicle on a level surface. Drain the oil and change the filter. Add 4.5 quarts of the correct weight oil and start the engine. Let run for 2 minutes, shut down, and wait 30 minutes. Check the oil level and add as necessary to reach the full mark. You now know the capacity.

I just did this today on a 2000 Jimmy Diamond Edition, and I imagine it is very similar if not exactly the same. First you must remove the bumper cover (plastic facia that looks like the bumper. This is connected in two places near the sides, it is connected with body mount expandalbe plugs, pull out the center plug and the entire assembly comes with it. The sides of the bumper cover slide on over two round pins, a good pull will make it come off, then the last part includes three or four tabs in front that the cover is pulled on to, you need to push it back pretty hard and work it up and down a bit and you will feel it coming off the tabs...remove the cover. There are six bolts holding the metal bumper on, two on the sides coming from support bars mounted back on the frame, two under the grill that attach to the top of the frame and the two hardest to reach are attached to the bottom of the frame. I would highly recommend a 15mm quick wrench to remove the bolts on the bumper...enjoy...it took me about 4 hours to take it off and put it back on...I had no idea what I was doing so I could probably do it quicker next time...
