i have an xj series 2004 jaguar with a broken front headlamp, how do i replace it?

If your fan control speed #1 stops working and then #2 stops working I believe it is the blower motor modual it is sometimes called blower motor resistor block.It is behind the fan motor , up under the passenger side of the dash and against the firewall. If you are looking underneath the dash, you will see a little black box in the position I described. It is being held in by 3 or 4 gold hex screws that are (I believe) .25'. Its not the fan motor control switch ....return that $165.00 part .....the blower motor modual is about $25 if you get it wholesale. These parts are usually not in stock and have to be imported from the Czech Republic, so order early.

I have a 2000 Grand Prix which I believe has the same type of door panel. There are 2 Torx Head screws that are behind the two plastic plugs behind the door pull handle. Once these are removed, just pull out the panel aby pulling round the outside of the panel.

If this vehicle has one then it will be located on the throttle body opening(except on the outside of the intake) There will most likely be a throttle idle controller motor mounted to this as well. There will be an electrical connnection going to it. I hope this helps some.

Your freon level is too low. Have it topped up and dye added to check it later for leaks. I had a very similar problem with a 2000 Olds Intrigue.

you will need a spring compressor to do this job. or you could remove the strut & spring assembly & take them to a local shop and have them swap strut assemblies. if you dont have a spring compressor, DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS REPAIR. the springs are very strong and can injure you severely. i will tell you how to get the assembly out. once the tire is off, you will see 2 bolts on the lower end of the strut. remove these 2 bolts. then, under the hood you will see 3 13mm bolts holding the strut mount in. remove these and the strut assembly will come right out. after this, you need a spring compressor. also you will have to have a wheel alignment performed after replacement, your alignment angles will be all messed up when you are done. this is normal.

there is a bolt in the center that is a 15mm that you will have two take out two change the belt tensioner and there is a pin that has two line back up on the block when you change it so that it seats right for the right tension .

There shold be a drain port at the bottom of radiator it should be on the left or right .If there is no one just remove bottom hose from radiator. MAKE SURE CAR IS NOT HOT OR IT WILL CAUSE SEVER BURNS TO YOUR HANDS AND BODY.If you want to get every last drop of atifreeze remove top hose and run a gardin hose in the hose and it will all drain out the botom

I had the same problem with my eh Holden and found that the carby bowl was dirty and the main jet was blocked.

if its on a injector car try cleaning the injectors with a fuel additave

CHECK THE FEUS BOX IT SHOULD BE THE ONE UNDER THE HOOD OR CHECK YOUR MANUAL IN FEUS SECTION

I am not so sure about the above answer. There is a switch attached to your brake. That may be bad. Then there is the shift lock solenoid under you shifter. You can manually open it and it will allow you to shift out of park. To fix that part you must by it from GM. And it is like 300 bucks. I just disabled the shift lock. Works everyday.

I'm not finding Torque converter sensor, are you sure you don't mean converter check valve or converter clutch solenoid? anyway, if you are looking for any of the shift Selenoid (1-2,3-4, or 2-3), or the TCC Selenoid, or the TWM Selenoid, or the Transmission Temp sensor, These are located inside the side cover on the transmission. On my 1999 grand Prix se this cover is located above the Transmission pan and drivers side....

There are only a couple checks you can do at home. You won't be able to check flow, etc. First, you'll need access to the injector which will require removing the upper intake plenum. From here there are two tests you can do. Pull the fuel rail with the injectors. Hook the fuel line back up. Put a piece of paper under the injectors. Turn on the key, but don't try to start the car. A leaking injector will show up as fuel on the paper. The other test requires a multimeter. On the Ohm side, put it on 200k. Put the black probe on one terminal of the injector and the red on the other. It should read between 11.8-12.6. If it's not in this range replace it.

Wiring in the front by the suspension gets pinched. I have about 5 friends with these cars & my daughter has one. It fixed the problem

Hey Rich==The idle speed solonoid is pprobably to blame. Take it off of the throtle body and clean it with carb cleaner. Also clean th inside of the throtle body where the throtle plate is as a carbon ring forms there. Goodluck Joe I had a similar problem and the PCV tube was punctured. $20 part at a ford dealer and you can replace it yourself. I too had this problem and the PCV tube was cracked and collapsed. Replaced and all was well. I also had this problem, with my 1996 wagon.. problem was a cinked PCV hose, was very cheap, and easy to replace. Fixed the problem ;)
