Where do you put brake fluid in a 1991 Isuzu trooper?

To add brake fluid to a 1991 Isuzu Trooper, locate the brake fluid reservoir, which is typically situated near the back of the engine bay, close to the driver's side. The reservoir is usually a translucent plastic container with a cap labeled for brake fluid. Remove the cap and pour in the appropriate type of brake fluid (usually DOT 3 or DOT 4), ensuring not to overfill. After adding the fluid, securely replace the cap and check for any leaks.

Why would a turbo on an 1994 Isuzu trooper make a squealing nosie?

If it's not the regular turbo scream from the high rpm turbine it might be the blades hitting the housing and the shaft bushing in the turbo might be worn out. Take off the in going air hose on the turbo, the one that comes from the filter. You can now get to the end of the shaft in side the turbo and feel for play by pulling gently up and down. There shouldn't be much play. If it gets really bad a turbo blade can break and get sucked in to the engine. Not a lot of fun. Have the turbo rebuild before it gets too noisy.

How do you know if you need to flush transmission?

If you wait for a transmission to have problems before you have it professionally flushed, you've waited to long. It really depends on your driving conditions but in most cases I would flush it every 50K, it will pay in the long run.

How do you time a 1988 Isuzu trooper?

find the marks on the pullys, they should line up with the 01234 marked on the faceplate of the timing belt cover, should show to be on 0 i beleive. use a timing gun

How do you install disc brakes on the front of a 1987 Isuzu Trooper?

This is a pretty easy brake job, once you realize how to deal with the top caliper bolt.

To start, set ebrake, jack and secure vehicle. Remove tire...

The caliper looks like most disc brake calipers at first. You use a metric 14mm socket to remove lower caliper bolt. The top "bolt" is not really a bolt at all. Its basically just a hole on the caliper that slides onto a shaft that is attached to the caliper bracket.

All you do is remove that lower bolt, the insert a screwdriver between the lower side of the caliper and the bracket and pry it up and out. The entire caliper will pivot up and then you push it towards the center of the vehicle and it will slide right off.

You simply remove the pads and use a C-clamp to compress the brake piston back to a fully open position and then insert new pads and reassemble.

*Note: You will want to remove the brake fluid cap before you compress the brake pistons on both sides. Then check fluids and secure the cap again when done. Your initial brake pedal step will go to the floor and then it will pump tight.

Do a test drive and you should be good to go...

How exactly do you reset the O2 warning light on a 1992 Isuzu Trooper I know you need to do something behind the speedo but what and how?

On my 93 Trooper there is a "switch" behind the instrument cluster that resets the O2 replacement reminder light. I have read that it reminds you every 90,000 km. I say "switch" because it is actually a screw that you remove from one hole and put in an adjacent hole. Both screw holes are labeled - "KSW" on my cluster. This is a separate dash light than the check engine light. You can not do this without removing the cluster. It might not be an O2 warning light. It comes on when the computer detects a problem with the emissions controls. It may be a bad O2 sensor or it may be many other things. Don't assume it means the O2 sensor is bad. You may be able to reset it by removing the + battery cable for a few minutes. If it comes back on after resetting it, then the problem was not a bad O2 sensor.

How do you know if the transmission fluid is low on a 2002 Isuzu Trooper or if the transmission is going out When starting off the vehicle is jumping?

when accelerating, if the transmission seems to "jump" or "slip" and is fine after that, it's probably low on fluid. while the trooper is on and in park, pull out the transmission dipstick to read the fluid level.

wherwe is the dip stick 2002 Isuzu trooper, thank you

the 2002 trooper has no tranny dipstick, you need to check it from under the car. on the tranny pan are two drain plugs. one to drain, one to fill. you need to pump the fluid into the fill plug hole. this is best done at a shop that has a pump . fill it up until the fluid runs out the fill hole. quickly replace the plug. do this on a level surface.

How do you replace a 2002 Isuzu trooper starter?

To replace it remove the battery terminal so you will not have power. Loosen the bolts (use liquid wrench or wd40 for this will be rusty) exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold (driver side) and then you need to loosen the exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold to the part where it connect exhaust pipe from the other side of the exhaust manifold (passenger side) and then you need to loosen the electrical wire from the starter and then loosen the bolts that connect the starter now you can wiggle the starter to pull it out you need to try to figure out how to get it through the loosen exhaust pipe ( but it should come out)

Where can you find a diagram for timing belt on v6 Isuzu trooper?

A person can get a diagram for the timing bet in a Isuzu Trooper by looking on the owners manual. They can also ask for a print out of the diagram at an auto part store.

Where do you add transmission fluid to a 1998 Isuzu trooper?

Unfortunatly you cannot check the transmission, or add fluid yourself. You have to take it to a dealer, or a transmission specialist. That's not strictly true. The Trooper uses a GM "closed" transmission system. Its possible to do it yourself, but a real PITA and requires some kind of pump system to pump in the fluid from below the vehicle. There are 2 filling bolts on the transmission pan, the lower one is the drain, the higher one towards the pan corner is the fill/level plug. You must remove the fill plug and pump fluid into it until it starts to run back out. Run the engine to distribute and warm the fluid, then check the level again, topping up if necessary. Replace the plug using new seal.

Why 1996 Isuzu trooper is overheating?

4 possibilities in order of what to try first, second, etc:

1 - Make sure air is flowing over radiator (Fan is turning, front of radiator/ac condensor clear). Make sure you have enough coolant in radiator and overflow tank. Free.

2 - Thermostat not opening. Get new one. $6 at AutoZone. About an hour job. Get new coolant at same time. Need about a gallon of full strength and mix it 50/50.

3 - Radiator clogged. Get new one off Ebay. $130. About 2 hour job. same thing with coolant as number 2

4 - Water pump not turning fast enough or engine coolant passageways not clear. This is not the option you want to experience. If you are asking this question then go to a mechanic for this one.

It is probably number 2 - Thermostat. That's what mine was. You will want to make sure you get a gasket with it as well as silicone thermostat gasket sealer. Another 3 or 4 dollars. Not a difficult job at all.

Good luck

Where is fuel filter located on 1994 Isuzu Trooper?

How do i replace breakpads for a Isuzu trooper?

USE SAFETY ALWAYS!! Basic instructions for a '95 Trooper in layman's terms: Loosen slightly the lug nuts on the tire to change the pads. Safely raise the vehicle where the wheel is to change the brake pads. (Like changing a flat tire.) Remove lug nuts. Remove wheel. Have a piece of wire about 18" long on hand like a clothes hanger. There are two large bolts that hold the calipers onto the axle end. Remove bolts. Remove the caliper holding the brake pads; there are two pieces that move in and out of each other. The pads should slide off of the rotors. Use the wire as needed to hold the caliper while working on the brakes/calipers. Do not over stress the rubber hydraulic brake hoses attaching the caliper to the vehicle! Visually inspect old brake pads for alignment and the wear indicator. (This is a small metal clip that attaches to the brake pad.) Remove both brake pads, or one at a time. Pay attention to the hardware that goes between the brake pad and the caliper, not the rotor side. Use a C clamp or similar device to force the brake ram back into the cylinder. Do not puncture the rubber folds around the ram! (You may need to loosen the cover of the brake fluid reservoir to allow air to escape.) This will allow the new pads to slip over the rotors easier. The new pads may not come with or need the metal shims that came originally on the vehicle. My experience shows that the inside pad wears faster, so the wear indicator clip should go on the inside pad, possibly like the original. Install new pads and slip the calipers with the new pads over the rotors. If the ram was not pushed back far enough, there will not be enough space between the pads to slip over the rotor. Tighten up the large bolts. Torque value? Make sure that they are TIGHT. Pads are to rub slightly on the rotors. Reinstall the tire in reverse order as it came off. Torque lug nuts per manufacturer specs. Tighten the brake fluid reservoir if it was loosened. Additional information: you may want to re-grease the pins that the two pieces of the calipers move on. The rubber boot on the pins may need to be replaced. Sometimes grease is applied to keep the brake pads quiet if you use the shims, grease is needed between the pad and the shim. Good luck!

What causes and how to fix low oil pressure in 1998 trooper?

Low oil pressure on any vehicle is caused by either loose (wore out) bearings or not enough oil in the crankcase. If you have "spun" a bearing, this will cause it as well. If your vehicle has a lot of miles, you may consider going with a heavier weight of oil like 20W-50, or straight 40W during the warmer times of the year. If you have lots of miles on your vehicle and are running synthetic motor oil, this will definitely cause low oil pressure. Sythetic motor oil it VERY thin, and if your vehicle has many miles where the bearings are starting to become sloppy, the synthetic blends will not maintain oil pressures like conventional motor oils. If you don't have any major engine noises (knocking rods, or lifters tapping) consider switch to a conventional motor oil, especially if you have over 100,000 miles on the vehicle. This applies to any vehicle with high miles.

How to replace the brake light on a Isuzu Trooper?

I have 1998 Trooper. I called Isuzu and they were very helpful. Open the back door, above the cable that holds the wiring for the back light there is a screw. Unscrew it and then unscrew the 2 screws that are on the outside. My light was out on the driver's side but it is probably the same on the passenger side. When you are screwing it back together, do the outside screws first then the inside one. Good luck. It took me 5 minutes to do.
