Isuzu Trooper

I had a similar problem while stranded up in San Francisco last year and I looked for a day and a half crawling around on my back underneath. The strangest thing and the oddest place for a fuel filter on my 89' at least. I went to the rear wheel well, passenger side, and it was just inside of well. Very much in reaching distance. i have a 1990 trooper 2.8 v6 and my fuel filter is in the engine compartment next to the carborater. the wierdest spot for one but that's were mine was. good luck!!

Depends on wat year model it is! if it is wat i think it is its easy just 4 wires needs to be bridged!

The 4JX1 engine torque rating is 333Nm (246 lb/ft) @ 2200rpm.

Most of the Isuzu npr trucks holds 6 and a half quarts of transmission oil.

As you sit in driver's seat, look just forward of your left knee. There is a little square panel that just pops off.

At the bottom of the engine oil pan.

According to all books it should be .44

You add it through the dipstick tube. There is a special funnel you can get in auto parts stores, or I have used a makeshift funnel made of a rolled-up sheet of plastic in the past. You have to check the level with the engine running.

Bottom of Engine Block, on passenger side. Below oil dipstick and oil filler hole. Follow Battery cables - both ground and positive lead to the starter. Hard to get to.

maybe vacuum hoses have come off front differential solenoids or from somewhere else this system is vacuum actuated then electric clutch engages

their is proably a short in your wiring. it was making a connection when it was out but the wires are at an angle when the pump is in the tank and the wires arent making a good connection.

The 3.5 V6 has individual coils for each spark plug. There are of course 3 on each side. They look like little black caps with a wire connector plugged into it. They are held in with two screws each. Un-plug the connector from the coil and remove the screws. After you do that, the coil will be easily pulled out. Down inside the tube where the coil was, is the spark plug. Most of the plugs should be easy to get to. You will need a ratchet extension and possibly a universal for one of them along with your spark plug socket. When installing new plugs, use an anti-seize compound on the threads of the plugs. Don't over-tighten. Get them in good and snug, but don't crank on them. NGK plugs are recommended for this engine, so be prepared, they're kind of expensive plugs. GOOD LUCK.

My 1998 3.5 just turned 175k and I put the 3rd set in.

I bought Denso plugs at a local autoparts store - not the chains.

Wasn't really worried about the price, but Denso was significantly cheaper than Bosch Platinum & NGK.

I could be wrong, but I think Denso may be OEM.

to find the dist-cap order ; 1. put timing mark on top dead center (TDC).

2. remove dist-cap see where rotor is at, that is #1 spark plug wire location on cap.

From what I under stand the rotor turns counter clock wise.

so next to left would be #2 ; ect. firing order is 123456 if what i see above this note about firing order ;;;; BUT I DON'T know if that is true. Could be but it's the 1st I've ever seen firing order in cylinder line order.

NOTE: TDC can be 180% off so make sure your on compression stroke ...

The ECT Senor is located on the passenger side of the engine, between the firewall and the back of the engine, on top of the engine. It's almost impossible to see and barely able to be touched by hand. I'm not sure how you're supposed to R&R it though. Ceck all your fuses first.

remove intake manifold.

I have been using REGULAR in my 2000 3.5 Trooper and never had a problem.

valve clearance for Isuzu 4ba1 engine is 17.00.

Could be the fan switch, the fuse, faulty wiring or wiring connections or the fan motor is burned out.

Ryco Z402 or equivilent.

5W-30, preferably synthetic.

the firing order is 1-3-4-2 counterclockwise on gas or diesel engines, that year should have a 4 cyl.

egr is on back left of engine from front of vehicle. It is round and silver - Should be two bolts on etherside to remove it spray carborator cleaner in it is what i was told. and replace it.

The ABS module detects a problem with the ABS system. Your local auto parts store can read the code(s) stored in the ABS module to help determine the cause. As long as the ABS light remains on the ABS system will not function if needed.
