attached to frame..under the passenger rear door
CORRECT:
Add-on: Bring clips! As gas will LEAK once filter is removed. Close clips to contain gas leak. Filter may be hard to remove, twist it hard! Once removed, check lines if they too need removal/replacement. Replace with new filter, remove clip constraining gas line.
Most Isuzu Trooper owners don't replace their fuel filters (bless those who do!). So please beware of fuel filter replacement(s).
Where do you add transmission fluid on a 1990 Isuzu trooper?

How do you replace the ac BELT IN 1994 Isuzu tRooper?
Assuming you have the 3.2 L V6 motor; locate the ac pump on lower driver's side of the motor and the appropriate belt. The belt has a tensioner between the crankshaft and the ac pump and one must loosen the large nut ( 24 mm I believe ) that attaches to the pulley. Once you have loosened the nut the tension on the ac belt will be released and you can guide it around the fan and remove it. Get the new belt over the fan and onto the correct crankshaft pulley and over the ac pump pulley. Then put the nut back on the tensioner pulley but don't tighten it yet. Use a crow bar or the claw side of a claw hammer to get a hold on the bolt head that sticks straight up from the tension and pull it up. Tighten the large nut while applying tension to the belt in this manner. If you make the belt too tight you may cause wear on the ac pump clutch, so get it tight but don't use your Herculean stength to do it. New belts will often stretch after a short time of use so it isn't a bad idea to check the belt after a couple of days of driving and retighten it if necessary.

How do you change a fuel pump on a 1993 Isuzu Trooper?
You have to remove the fuel tank. Keep in mind there are 2 differant fuel pumps listed for this year trooper.Make sure you replace it with the correct one. One has a two inch turbine the other one inch. I went and got the Chilton Isuzu manual for step by step replacement. It was worth the 9$.
I have a 93 Isuzu trooper LS and just replaced the fuel pump. Both the 1 inch and 2 inch pumps are rated the same as far as 43 psi and gallons per minute. I bought the cheaper 2 inch since it had all the necessary rubber isolators to install the pump. The price for the 1 inch was roughly $250 and 2 inch was $100. Both the pumps were significantly smaller in size than the original. Removing the tank was actually fairly simple. Make sure you clean out all the grime around the bolts and use some WD-40 to loosen bolts on tank. Left side was a pain to get up in there with a socket, have patience and make sure you jack the back end up high enough to get up under there. That was the hardest part. It took me 1 hour to drain and remove the tank and about 30 minutes to put it back together. My trooper has been running wonderfully ever since. I will say it took me about three days to diagnose the problem from start. I backed out drive way and the trooper stalled like it was out of fuel. I replace relay, fuses, and installed a fuel pressure gauge just before the rail to check psi. It was zero. I thought I accidentally hooked it up to the return line. But finally when I removed the tank and pump, I hooked the pump back up inside a 5 galllon bucket and had buddy turn it over. Nothing came out the pump. It was caput...... I did the same with the new pump before installing in tank and it was shooting out like a hose...... Deffinitely the pump......
How do you replace a starter on a 1990 Isuzu Trooper?
if it is the v6 2.8 litre, you crawl under the dirvers side right behind the front wheel, as the starter is on the bottom drivers side of the bell housing. disconnect the battery, take the 3 lines off of the starter and then remove the 3 retaining bolts. pull starter out just a little then straight down. you wont be able to rotate it to get it out, as i spent over an hour with 30 pounds in my hands trying to get it out, let alone in. so save yourself some troubles. putting it back in is a little more complicated, on the sole fact that you will more than likely have to shim it. install it, try and start it. if it makes a loud sound, probly needs to be shimmed. or you could pay someone to do it for you since your asking on here?
dunlap

How do you add automatic transmission fluid to a 2000 Isuzu Trooper?
I am currently changing the fluid in my trooper it also is a 2000 assuming you are changing filter and all first scoch your tires then climb undreneth and find the trans pan it will have two drain plugs 19mm remove the middle one be sure two have a drain pan waiting! After all of the fluid is out slide the pan out of the way at the rear of the trans you will see a crossmember you need to support your trans with a jackstand then slide a jack under the crossmember unbolt it and let it down this is the only way to get to the back bolts on the trans pan. after crossmember and pan are removed you will see the filter replace it then follow these directions in reverse order after every thing is back together you need to use a fluid pump($7-$11 at most parts stores or wal-mart) most of these pumps have a hose that fits the drain plug perfect with no leaking. Put the other end of the pump in a quart of fluid and start a pumping when you have finished remove the hose make sure you have the drain plug bolt in hand right next to the hole (i always pump a quarter of a bottle over cause its hard not to loose some! Make sur you use a GM approved trans fluid im not 100% on how much fluid, but they can tell you at the parts store.ive done this 5 years in a row.if it were up to me id pay some one to do it!! GOOD LUCK

Where do you fill the transmission fluid on an Isuzu Trooper 1998?
1992 - 2002 Isuzu Troopers have the GM 4L30E transmission. There is no dipstick. There is no fill tube. The only way to add fluid or check the fluid level of the transmission is through the fill plug in the transmission pan. The transmission fill plug is situated above the fluid level of the "sump" area of the pan. Add fluid by pumping it into the fill plug and let any excess drain out. You'll know it's topped off when the fluid stops pouring out.
How would you remove the driver side axle on an Isuzu Trooper ls 4x4 3.2 v6 dohc?
As an Isuzu mechanic, I would not recommend an individual trying this. There is a large plate holding it in place, along with two snap rings behind it holding the bearing and seal in place.
As a blind guess, the ECM is basing the Air/fuel mixture with incorrect data from a bad sensor or vacuum leak. Check the Idle air control actuator, It's responsible for allowing more or less air to bypass the throttle plate to stabilize the idle. It gets commands from the ECU based on information from various engine sensors.
