generally u dont replace clutch as it is more prudent to just get a used compressor from junk yard. you will need a pair of snap ring pliers. 1. remove nut on compressor shaft and remove clutch plate. 2. remove snap ring holding pulley on compressor. 3. use two screwdrivers on opposite sides of pulley to help slide off pulley.

How do you remove the driver s seat from a1997 mercury villager

There is no such device on a '97 villager.

Check your vacum lines. The rubber and plastic hoses under the hood. If one is loose and leaking, it will cause a miss. If it only does it at idle, it will probably be a small line or just loose. that's the first and cheapest thing to do.

I've heard of people using a 3-jawed puller. The compressor is a ford FS10/Motorcraft YC-189. You'll need a tool to hold the clutch so it doesn't spin. A universal clutch holder tool (rent from local auto parts place or buy, about $20) will help. I'm about to replace the compressor on our 99 so if I get more details, I'll post.

The firing order is simply 1,2,3,4,5,6 the distributor rotates counter clockwise, and the number one cylander is the rear extreme right of the car (passenger side).

To replace a blower motor on the resistor first you take off the nozzle and then you go into the motor through the nozzle and unlock it then repeat and oil and done.

Likely it is the clips on the fuel venting system under the hood. This is a common problem that all Sportages will eventually suffer from, if in a colder climate. The spring clips will be replaced with screw down clips. This is a very easy job.

Since there are over 22 different wiper arm attachments - be sure to lookup exact wiper blade part numbers by vehicle make, model and year for the brand wiper you decide to purchase. This ensures correct length AND correct attachment.

The Data Link Connector (DLC) is located under the dash right under the steering column. Use of a scanner is highly recommended as some engine faults will not activate the check engine light but will be stored as a code in the PCM. Because of the complexity of this operation, it is strongly suggested that you consult a repair manual, or take the vehicle to a qualified mechanic. Changing the timing belt will require a substantial amount of disassembly and 4-6 hours of time. It will also require the fabrication or purchase of a special tool to hold the crankshaft in order to remove the pulley nut, or else you will need a very strong air ratchet wrench to knock it loose. You will need to remove all the drive belts, the A/C belt tensioner, any hose that's in the way, and raise the vehicle, remove the right wheel, inner splash guards, crankshaft pulley, timing cover, and tensioner to remove the belt. This is a good time to replace the water pump as it's driven by the timing belt. The timing marks in the sprockets must line up exactly with the marks on the belt, and this can be difficult to do, since the cams will want to move out of position due to the pressure of the valve springs on them.

To change a CV Axle on a 1998 Mercury Villager, take off the front tire and the caliper assembly. Take off the pad and the rotor. Disconnect the steering knuckle and pull the CV axle off. Replace with new and reinstall the parts.
