How do you remove a steering wheel from a 1994 Mitsubishi 3000 gt?
To remove the steering wheel start by disconnecting the negative battery terminal to prevent accidental airbag deployment. Then remove the screws on the backside of the steering wheel to remove the airbag. Disconnect the airbag wiring connectors. Remove the steering column shaft nut and remove the steering wheel with a puller. Do not yank, hammer, pry the steering wheel off as this could result in steering shaft damage.
What does it mean when the suspension light sport flashes on and off on a mitsuibishi 3000gt?
Controling the struts electronically is only possible when using the factory ECS struts manufactured by KYB.
When operating properly the ECS module performs as listed below
Sport mode - suspension is set at Hard.
The damping force can be checked by simply bouncing the mounting points
in both modes and checking that the damping force is harder in the Sport state.
Tour mode - activates the following
Anti-Roll: If the steering wheel is rotated 90 degrees within 0.3 seconds then the suspension is set at Medium. If this change occurs within 0.2 seconds then it is set at Hard.
Anti-Dive: When the speed of the car drops quickly during braking the suspension sets itself to Hard.
Anti-Squat: The suspension will harden at low speeds when accelerating quickly. During hard acceleration at 30km/h the suspension is set at Hard, at 60km/h it is set at Medium, at 90km/h it is set at Soft. At all speeds suspension will change to Medium after a second of acceleration.
High Speed Sensitive: When accelerating the suspension will change from Soft to Medium at 130km/h and will revert back to soft when the speed drops below 120km/h.
Pitch and Bounce: If the vehicle's body bounces up and down by approx 5cm within a second then the suspension is set at Hard until this motion ceases.
i think it is the engine coolant level
it's windshield washer level, if on just add water.
How much horsepower does a 1994 Mitsubishi 3000gt non turbo engine have?
It comes stock with a 222 horsepower. Most people believe it had the same engine as all of the dodge stealth's produced but they are wrong. The dodge stealth had 160 horsepower SOHC in their base model and the 3000GT had a 222 horsepower DOHC in their base model. However, in 1997 they started to make SOHC 3000GT's and then they had the same horspower base models.
I had a problem very similar to this on my '94 SL. I finally tracked it down to the electrical plug that comes out of the fuel pump/sending unit assembly that fits down into the gas tank.
Unfortunately, you can't just buy the electrical pigtail and re-wire it. You have to buy the entire assembly (fuel pump, sending unit, metal bracket, pigtail, etc.).
When I replaced this entire assembly - I never had the problem again. Of course the cost was in excess of $500 or so.
I suppose I could have re-wired a new circuit to the fuel pump, but I didn't really want to start cutting up the exisiting factory wiring harness.

How do you change a valve seal on a 1994 3000GT?
It is very difficult and time consuming for a back yard mechanic. I have done it before and I didn't think I would ever finish. I'll put it this way, if you're going to try this yourself you'll need every tool that you've got and then some. 2 head gaskets, head studs, valve seals, timing belt along with tentionors and all pulleys associated with the timing and you'll probably want to get some 3rd gen lash adjusters will get you started. You'll need timing tools and also a tool that is used to compressed the valve springs to get the keepers out. You can do a search on all of this. It's very extensive you can't do this on a weekend.
You have1992 Mitsubishi 3000 gt starts good but cut off when put into gear?
I had a similar problem with my 1994 3000GT. When I would shift into reverse, it would stall. As is turned out, the radiator was partially clogged, cutting off flow for the oil cooler. After replacing the radiator, I have had no problems with this.
Ok wow 3000gt don't have an oil cooler the vr4's do... A radiator has nothing to do with why the tranny kills the car when you put it in gear.... You my friend were robbed by your mechanic.... It's probably the idle air control on the throttle body.... It could need a rebuild of the clutch with a full kit.... I recommend finishing the flywheel as well. Hope its not the tranny sychros that means new or re built tranny .... Good luck think simple first....
How do you take out interior speakers 1994 3000gt?
If you are talking about the front speakers, then start by removing the door panels. There are two screws on the rear edge of the door panel. There is a screw behind door handle and one in the vent of the door. Two screws on the front edge of the door panel and four screws (three of which are hidden behind the carpet) on the lower portion of the panel. Lift panel up off the door. There are two electrical plugs (door light and power window/door locks) that you have to unplug.
Set door panel aside. Four screws for the speakers. If aftermarket speakers are being used, then you need to drill four new holes for the screws to hold new speaker in. Also, you will have to cut the speaker plug and rewire with connectors to adapt to new speakers.
Re attach door panel in reverse as you removed.

How do you adjust the timing on a 3000GT?
****EDIT****
He is asking how to adjust timing, not advance timing w/ a resistor. Resistors will decrease the hz the ECU sees to lean out/advance timing is cheap performance mod and should be avoided at all costs. You can find these all over Ebay, and if you buy one of these or install anything other than a piggyback/standalone to reduce your airflow to the ECU, you deserve the blown engine when it happens. They tune the ECU for a safe air fuel ratio from the factory, no need to lean it out to the borderline of knock/engine failure. If you do, at the very least do yourself & engine a favor and get a datalogger to monitor knock, and a wideband 02 sensor to see what your AFR actually is.
TO ADJUST IGNITION TIMING (valve timing is a different animal)
1.) locate the tan/brown plug between passenger strut tower & firewall (near where all the engine wiring comes through the wall)
2.) take the cap off, jump a wire from that terminal to the frame of the car. This puts the ECU into a fixed mode, so it will not automatically adjust ignition timing.
3.) hook up a timing light to #1 plug wire (can do loan a tool from autozone/advance auto)
4.) start car and point light down to crankshaft harmonic balancer (pulley).
5.) You will see the notch on the pulley, make sure it is at 5 degrees BTDC, + or - 2.
6.) If not, rotate the sensor until it is, then lock it down. Turn off the car, remove the jumped wire, then restart the car. The timing should now automatically adjust to about 15 degrees.
7.) If the car doesn't start, you may need to rotate the CAS arm 180 degrees, then re-install.
How do you fix lazy headlights that won't go up all the way by themselves in a 1981 Corvette?
It sounds like you have a vacuum leak somewhere in your system. Probably in a hose somewhere. purchase a vacuum squeeze pump from an auto parts store or mid america. Connect straight to your headlight diaghram. Onec you squeeze the light open it shoul remain open. If not you need to replace the diaphram.Mid America has a book on the wiper and vacuum system for these vettes that is excellent. i suggest you go ahead and buy some new check valves that the book describes. I had problems and followed these procedures and for less than 200 bucks my light have been working great for ten years.Mid America's website is madvett.com.
How do you adjust the idling on a 1993 3000 gt?
Why adjust idle... if this is a n/a you need to just leave it alone unless you have a consistent idle less than 900 or more that 1100 .... You will get no gain from this and if you don't have a consistent idle there is probably something else wrong.....
How much to rebuild a 3000gt vr4's transmission?
It all depends on weather you would like it done right and weather you want to do it yourself $2000-3000 is cheap for these things with $5000-6000 for a good job, on these cars id take the 5,000 route dont have to go back a second time and itll last longer also if you go the cheap way you can get gear grind or other things like that. If you do it your self prices can vary depending on where you get the tranny from also transmissons are inerchangeable on all vr4s just have to change the flywheel and clutch to do so good luck and i hope this helps
Hi Zero valve clearence,it is an interference motor. Realistically,to be safe 60k It really depends on the condition of the belt ,climate conditions, how you drive. I baby my 95 ,dont drive it in winter and it has 70k on it now with the original belt. I will change everything soon to be safe as it will be much more expensive to fix the motor. Are you a gambler? Go to Team3s website for all the 3000GT answers and helpful links, cant beat it.

How do you change the front and rear turn signal bulbs on a 93 3000 gt?
For the back side one you have to go into the trunk compartment and there you will need to unscrew the 4 10mm nuts that holds up the whole turn/brake light and then you will have access to the bulbs. For the front ones you have a little cover in the front of the turn sign, carefully lift it up to remove it and then you ll have access to the screw, unscrew it and pull out the signal then change the bulb.
Can some 1 tell you what sites to go on to get car performance parts?
I have found the site 3sx.com to be helpful and they cater to only 3000gt and the dodge stealth and seem to be a very good site for parts and other cool stuff and alot of custom stuff as well.
