You have a 1 gen Dsm so that means you have a 6 bolt motor already, 7 bolt didn't come till 2 gen dsm's

Most cars including forien and high performance use a 5w-30 or 10w-30 oil. Standard oil will give sufficiant lubrication and protection but synthetic oil is usually better. Brand names are almost always unimportant because all oil has to be up to the same set of standards. It also matters where you live, if you live in a hot climate use 10w-30 if it freqently drops below freezing go with 5w-30 because it is thinner and will lubricate better in cold weather.

The codes from these cars and the data port are unique. You can buy a cable and palm pilot equipped with the software to read the codes on Ebay for about $50. Search for DSM datalogger.

voltage regulators on the 97 n/t models have it built into the PCM. If your having charging issues please check electrical wires to and from generator. Both ground and positive wires could cause issues along the lines being Mitsubishi did have a long history of corrosion popping up and eating away at Cables. Now on the other note you may install and external voltage regulator which can be found at just about any auto part store prices vary on area and dealer brands. with gst and Gsx turbo models things do change as the voltage regulators is located on the generator it self please do your self the favor and loan the car to a friend or technician worthy of preforming such duties as diagnosing , I my self have been in a whole with quite a few of these cars in My time And no need to worry the repairs are quite easy and cost effective once you have sourced the issue.

There should be a fuse diagram in the owner/service manual for this car under the capacities or diagram section. Look up "fuses" in the index. This diagram should show exactly the one in question. _also if you removed the stock stereo your lights may not work due to the fact that your lights run trough it_ -aojedam

The check engine light only comes on if there's a problem with suction (i.e. you filled the gas tank with the car running or left the gas cap open and drove. You can't reset it, you have to unhook the battery. If it comes on again, unhook the battery again. If it comes on a 3rd time, I'd see the dealer.

You use engine coolant, period. There is no manufacturer specific kind. Make sure you mix it 50 percent coolant and 50 percent water.

The TCU for 92-96 Diamante's is located under the dash,behind the console.You have to pull the carpeting outward on both the drivers and passengers side,up front on the center hump(where your inside foot is when you're sitting).The drivers side is tricky because of the gas pedal.Behind the carpet is a small metal cover on each side which needs to be removed with a screwdriver.The TCU is fitted into a bracket which is bolted down up front right near the firewall.Remove the nuts(it is real uncomfortable getting these nuts off),disconnect the cables and pull it out any way you can.Installation is the reverse.

It is located on the rear differential. ( Top - above the pinion ) This is assuming it is a 4 wheel drive with a 2.4 liter engine.

A note. This sensor is a little different than most others. It seems that you may have to remove the input flange to replace the sensor. Most others are easy to disconnect and remove without any other component removal.

Mitsubishi shares transmissions in various makes. All that you need to confirm is the Automatic Transmission(A/T) code. Gearing ratios may vary slightly, but nothing noticable. The transmission code in printed on the engine bay plate as well as on the A/T itself. e.g. printed on engine bay plate: F4A22 printed on transmission: F4A22xxxxxx Do not worry about the xxxxxx. Only the first 5 characters need to match.

Cyinder are numbered from drivebelt end to transaxle end. 1-2-3-4 Firing order is 1-3-4-2.

If it is a 2.0 dohc 16 valve engine it is on the front driver side of valve cover. You will need to remove plastic air intake hose.

Wow, the easiest way would be taking the whole engine out so that you can have some space to level them out. Once you have taken the whole engine out, take the plastic that is covering the inside pulleys and the timing belt. Once that is done, make sure you have mark both pulleys so that when u take the timing belt off, you will be able to put the new one on at the same mark...
