What is the sputtering noise coming from the exhaust manifold on a 1994 Mitsubshi Eclipse 1.8?
If the sputter dissipates when the engine gets warm then a portion of the exhaust manifold is not tight against the engine block and is letting exhaust gas escape until the metal heats up and expands, if no then you might have a break in the exhaust gasket. Nothing that will harm the car or keep you from passing a smog test but annoying for sure. In my case the last bolt on the end of the manifold broke for some reason and caused the same sputter, I ened up removing the bolt and replacing it and the sputter went away. Good luck

You need to remove the gas tank to replace the fuel pump. The tank contains the pump. It is A good idea to replace the strainer and filter when replacing the pump, They are both actually just filters and you cannot get the fuel too clean, but it can be too dirty.

The relay is located undert he center consol. It's black with a black rubber boot on it. You can take off the side panel on the passanger or driver side and get to it. This is the fuel pump relay. For the eclipse to occur the Earth, Sun and Moon have all got to be on the same line. For lunar eclipse, Moon has to be behind Earth, looking from Sun, so Earth's shadow could cover it. Also, Moon has to be behind Earth for full moon - that's when we see the biggest part of it lit.

Press the LOCK button on the remote to be registered three times within 10 seconds. Upon successful programming, the door will lock and unlock once.
Repeat step 5 with up to 4 remotes (including any existing remotes) within one minute. After completing each programming, the doors will lock and unlock once.
