How do you test Mitsubishi crankshaft position sensor?
Once you've checked the spark plugs, coil pack, distributor, fuel pump and all fuses and they check out to be good, and you have checked to make sure the timing belt has not jumped, then you have a crankshaft censor malfunction. The automobile will turn over but just won't crank. That means you would need to replace the crankshaft censor.

How do you change the transmission filter on a 2001 Mitsubishi Montero Sport?
I have MitsubishI Montero Limited 2001 with 74,000 miles on it. During the winter I had few times situation where gear shifter felt like it was "sticking" moving in a "thick oil", I attributed that to a cold weather. Just yesterday I came back from vacation (took different car) got into Montero and had problem shifting, it feld like shifter is moving in a thick mud. After few tries, I was able to drive in reverse, however shifting into "drive" is difficult and requires few tries before it catches. It feel almost like there is a glue in the gear box. Any idea what to look for?
Past experience would suggest an alternator. This is symptomatic of a totally dead battery. Charge the battery first. Try to fire it up again and if it runs now put a voltmeter on the battery while it is running. If the voltage shows as 12v or LESS then it is NOT charging. A properly charging system will show at least 13 or more DC volts.
How do you replace air conditioning belt on 2000 mitsubitsi montero?
On the tension pulley above the AC unit there is a tension bolt behind the pulley. Loosen the front nut on the front of the pulley then loosen the long bolt to drop the pulley until the belt fits. Tighten the long back bolt until the belt is tight ( see manf. recommendations on torque ) then tighten the bolt on the front of the pulley.
Where is the oxygen sensor on a Mitsubishi 2003 Montero sport and where is it located?
There are 3. One you can see by looking down on the upper right of the engine. It is screwed onto the manifold and connects to a plug in jack in the back middle. The rest are sadly under the car. I have the same problem right now.

Available gear ratios on 1990 Mitsubishi Momtero?
I will assume you are asking about the differential or "final drive" ratios, not the transmission or transfer case ratios.
Second, since you call it a Montero and not a Pajero, I'll guess you are in North America. I think most of the North American Monteros came with 4.625 ratios in the differentials. Some may have had 4.875 ratios.
Lower 5.29 gearing is available, but Mitsubushi only used this in rigs that had a small diesel engine. These vehicles were NOT sent to North America. These gears will fit in Generation I Monteros with V6 gas engines (1989-1991), but they are very hard to get and expensive. These gears are still available (as of 2008), but the only source I could find was a person in Australia that would order them directly from the factory in Japan. Search these Mitsubushi forums if you want more information:
