OBD Diagnostic Codes

Need to know the following, year, engine liter size, model.

I would start with the basics depending on which code(s). Is it a small leak, medium leak or large leak? It may be related to the fuel cap or how it seals. It may have a leak or part failure within the evap system. If the cap doesn't solve it, find the local snap on tool dealer and ask him the best troubleshooting gargage for this in your area. He should know. This really isn't a d-i-y kind of thing for most.

P1519 = Intake Manifold Runner Stuck Closed (Bank 1).

Your # 1 engine cylinder is MISFIRING

Trouble code P0441 means:Evaporative emission control system incorrect purge flow

EGR System, insufficient flow detected, maybe bad sensor? Your sensor is more than likely fine. It is probably the air intake to the EGR located in the throttle body. Take off the air intake cover and it is right behind the throttle plate. Just clean out the import to the EGR, because it gets clogged up and then the EGR isn't receiving the correct amount of air. Try that before you go spend the money on a pricey sensor.

Could be a bum fuel injector. Pull number 6 spark plug again, if it is wet you have a spark problem. If the plug is bone dry you have a fuel problem, probably a bad injector. Swap injector with another cylinder and see if the misfire switches cylinders or remains on number 6 cylinder.

It is under the dash on the driver side.

Trouble code P0743 means:Torque converter clutch circuit electrical

Trouble code P0403 means:Exhaust gas recirculation circuit malfunction

It is a coil or coil related issue depending on what vehicle it is.

It's an Emission Control Error Code DTCP0420: Catalytic System Efficiency Below Threshold

NOTE: If some of the DTCs listed below are stored at the same time as DTC P0420, troubleshoot those DTCs first, then recheck for DTC P0420.

P0137, P0138: Secondary HO2S (Sensor 2)

P0141: Secondary HO2S (Sensor 2) Heater USUALLY (but not always) it's an Oxygen Sensor that's bad. If they both check out okay you will probably need to have the catalytic converter replaced.

Trouble code P0118 means: Engine Coolant Temperature Circuit High Input

The diagnostic connector is under the dash on the driver side.

Cylinder 8 misfire detected

Often the front coil pack failing. Burning up the #8 sparkplug is a common indicator.

Trouble code P0335 means: Crankshaft position sensor "A" circuit malfunction

P0300 is multiple or random cylinder misfire.

Trouble code P0202 means: Injector circuit malfunction - cylinder #2

The 1684 code shows a lack of power to the transmission. Check the wiring to the transmission for damage, and worn or improperly connected plugs.

1996 model year and later the obd plug is under the dash on the driver side. 1995 and before it was in different locations depending on make and model.

Open Control Panel using Start. Click on Programs and select Programs and Features. Select Quick Repair and click on Repair. If Quick Repair didn't fix the error code 30015, select Online Repair and click on Repair.

Trouble code P1296 means: No 5 volts to MAP sensor
