In the United States, oil drilling evolved as a result of seeking salt brine. Without refrigeration, one of the few means of preserving meat was through packing it with salt.

Over Cleaner will work but is highly caustic (contains sodium hydroxide aka lye) and is unpleasant to work with. I have similar problems due to buildup of baked on popcorn oil spattered on my stove top and have worked out a two step process to clean it.

Step 1) If the buildup is heavy then first apply a thin layer of naptha (cigarette lighter fluid) to the surface to be cleaned. Obviously this should not be done near hot stoves or ignition sources but is otherwise safe since naptha evaporates quickly. I came up with this idea because naptha is the main ingredient in automotive fuel system cleaner and will dissolve hardened oil and varnish. After about 5 minutes the naphtha will soften the baked on oil or grease. Then use a plastic card of some sort to scrape up the softened residue (I use a 2" x 3" plastic card cut from a CD jewel case but anything like an old credit card would work just fine and will not mar the painted surface). Repeat as needed for heavier buildup.

Step 2) Once the bulk material is removed in this way you can use ordinary household ammonia along with a little bit of elbow grease to remove the remaining traces from the surface and return it to its original condition.

You will need just flaxseeds, a pot for the stove, filtered water, a cheesecloth, a bowl, and a glass storage container with a lid.

For every spoonful of flaxseed, use a cup of water. Boil for ten minutes and you should see a whole lot of oil accumulate. Let it cool and then strain it into a bowl with the cheesecloth, using your hands to press the oil out. I lay the cloth over a bowl, pour the concoction on it and gather the end of the cloth to make a sack, then squeeze downward. Store it in the fridge.

Another way is to prepare it is to just let the seeds sit in boiled water for a few hours instead putting them through the rolling boil.

I make my own instead of buying it from a store because this oil is very delicate and can turn rancid quickly.

Quick note: if you don't have time to make the oil, at least grind the seeds or else they are not digestible. Never buy ground flaxseed as they become oxidized quickly, lose the nutritional benefit and actually can do harm to your system!

there are a couple answers to this and the first is that the environmentalist will never allow it, they have the opinion that we need to save the environment at all cost, there is no possible way to build one with the environment regulations that are in place as of now. in order to get the regulations lowered u have to go thru congress and there is too many senators and representatives that have been backed by environmentalist and so they wont vote againts the environment and anger the people who got them into their position. the last reason is that if a one year old were to build a refinery, he would be in debt and unable to recover even past the age of 100 because of the cost of building one costs billions and at the price of crude they would almost lose money, so no one in their right mind would want to build one. hope this answer helps
