For your 1991 Oldsmobile 98: Firing Order 1-6-5-4-3-2 Standing in frony of the vehicle the cylinders from left to right are 1-3-5 and the farthest one on the backside are from left to right 2-4-6 NOTE: There are 2 different motors used this year. The Canadian motor produced runs in reverse order. But this motor is very rare as they only istalled approx. 500 of these motors in the 1991 model. Most of them were used in following year.

A frame on a car can not properly be straightened without the right equipment. This equipment is hundreds of thousands of dollars.

A shop is your best option. They will hook your car up to a frame straightening machine and using measurements and pullers, through a computer they are able to pinpoint the problem and pull your frame back in place. This can get pricey but nothing compared to buying your own equipment.

If you are referring to a frame alone, no car, I would ask a local machine shop. They should be able to straighten it out for a price.

Follow the top radiator hose to the engine and find a bulborous part device the hose is attached to. The thermostat is inside there.

In the engine compartment. Center of the firewall behind the engine.

The blower motor for this vehicle is located on the heater plenum approximately in the center of the firewall. It is located near the top of the engine compartment. The motor is covered by a plastic cowl that is secured by six bolts.

If you're using quickstruts, all you need to do is remove the nuts on the top (accessed by removing the rear seat or through the trunk) and the two bolts at the bottom of the strut that pass through the knuckle.

If you're not using quickstruts, there's more involved as you need to take some of the parts off the old struts to use on the new struts.

In neither case do you need a spring compressor as these are technically Chapman struts, and the spring is mounted separately.

The nuts at the top remove relatively easily. The bolts on the bottom will take quite a bit of work to remove from the knuckle if you're using a hammer. I recommend an airhammer.

Do not allow the knuckle to fall downward and stress the ball joint once the strut bolts have been removed. Do get the car aligned before driving it any distance.

There is a bunch and not easy to replace because the factory part numbers on them make it difficult to find over the counter replacement chips. Also most are soldered on the boards and the boards coated with varnish. The vehicle computer under the passenger dash or the A/C climate control module is less than $100 at most auto parts stores.

Symptoms.
Engine may stumble or miss
Engine may be hard to start

Failing spark plugs or spark plug wires
Bad coil or coil pack
Failing oxygen sensor(s)
Bad fuel injector or more than one
Stuck exhaust valve
Bad catalytic converter
EGR valve or valve passage clogging
Bad camshaft position sensor
Bad PCM or ECM

The Fix
Best first action is a tune up, new plugs, wires, inspect all hoses and wire connections then reset the code. If it returns you will need to narrow it down to a system, coils and coil packs should be tested, catalytic converters for function ( do you smell rotten eggs?). A misfire that jumps cylinders could indicate a lean condition, do you have any other codes along with the 300? this will help clue you in to the source, check valve function to make sure they are opening and closing fully.
This is probably pone of the most difficult codes to troubleshoot, so start with the basics and work your way into the more expensive options, in many cases a good old tune up solves the problem, back it up with a fuel system cleaning and see where you stand.

Assuming that your Olds 88 is an 11th generation as you didn't include the year in your question, it is rather difficult to see. It is on the passenger side behind the engine (in between the engine and windshield). Make sure you have plenty of light. Leaning over the engine and looking down, you can see the cap to the reservoir.

This is the plug and not the switch....The switch inself is located within the transmission.

If the car has a 3spd automatic (TH125) Look on the front (closest to the radiator) driver side of the tranny for a 4 prong plug...this is the TCC plug....

Unplug it and drive the car. If the problem goes away, then you can replace the solenoid or drive it with it unplugged...it WON'T HURT THE TRANNY!! You will suffer on mileage though.

Not a horrendously hard thing to do. firstly look at the instrument binnacle, you should see a screw on the side, unscrew this. then binnacle will be able to be pulled off after this (it will be stiff!) you should now see the bare instruments screwed to the dash. unscrew them (should be a screw in each corner on the white bit (4 in total?) this done pull the binnacle forward (again it will be stiff but be brutal, it will come. you will see the speedo cable clipped to the back of the instrument panel. simply unclip it. heres the trick to make it easy. get a roll of duct tape and tape the new cable to the old one, this means when you pull the old cable out the new one follows it so you don't have to mess about with it so much. next pop the bonnet open. look at the bulkhead. you should see the speedo cable come through it (held in place with a rubber ball). simply pull the cable hard and the ball will pop out. keep pulling until the new cable comes through. look at the gearbox (passenger side) and follow the old calbe down to there. you should see its held in with a rubber pin. pull the rubber pin out with some pliers. the old calbe will now come out entirely. bin the old cable, it has served it useful purpose and may now rest in peace! plug the new cable into where the old one was, may need a bit of twisting to get it to fit. replace the rubber pin. reassemble your dashboard! job's a goodun! remember to try to shield your new cable from the exhaust manifold as much as possible. the heat from it will kill your new cable fairly fast otherwise (its a pug design fault, the car was designed to be left hand drive so the left hand drive models dont have this problem!

Hello I have a 1995 olds 88 it will not start. someone was monkeying around with it before I got it. Don,t know what they did for sure. Has spark to the plugs fires on one or two cyls at first crank then nothing. Won't fire on light shot of ether. got fuel pressure at the rail??? Got a computer diagnosis that shows no codes. the battery was dead, did the codes disappear?

Help Norm I've been a mechanic for many years before these modern electronics came along. Now I almost feel like an idiot. trying to figure them out LOL

Firing order for 3.8 Oldsmobile 88 or anything else that might help.

Theoretically, you could put the supercharger setup from a factory supercharged 3800 series 2 engine but it would be a lot of work and you would have to do a lot with wiring. The Buick Park Avenue, Pontiac Bonneville SSEI and the Olds 88 LSS will have that engine.
