I have no clue. My 1998 Olds Silhoutte just started doing this about two weeks ago. Sometimes it runs for an hour just fine. Then you might turn it off for an hour or ten minutes get back in and everything be fine or it might fluctuate and go on hot. Weird. Please post if you have any advice.

If you need to program your new keyless entry remotes without a trip to the dealer here is how. It works, I just did two myself. Read throught the steps before you try. 1. Remove key from ignition. 2. Remove the "BCM PRGRM" fuse from the fuse panel, accessed by opening the front passenger door. Use the legend on the fuse panel to properly locate the "BCMPRGRM" fuse. 3. Close all of the doors. 4.Close the liftgate. 5. Insert keys into the ignition, and turn the ignition lock cylinder to ACC (one click towards you - the opposite direction from starting the engine).6. Turn the ignition lock cylinder to OFF, and then back to ACC within 1 second. 7. Open and close any vehicle door. A chime will be heard when the system enters the programming mode. 8. Press and hold the transmitter LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously for 14 seconds. IMPORTANT: After 7 seconds, a chime may be heard confirming successful synchronization. It is necessary to wait approximately 14 seconds for a second chime that will confirm successful programming. Your new remote has been accepted and all existing remote codes have been erased. 9. Repeat the previous step on each additional transmitter to be programmed (including any existing transmitters). 10. Remove the ignition key from the ignition lock cylinder. 11. Install the "BCM PRGRM" fuse back into the fuse panel.

You have to replace what is called a "gas tank sending unit". This is a electrical device that inserts into the gas tank. The part cost about $100. Plus you have to find somebody that likes to work on gas tanks.

I just replaced mine in a 2003 model and it was pretty simple. I ordered a replacement online for around $45. There are only 3 bolts holding it on - access by popping off the inside door panel - only one screw here under the arm rest and the rest were little pop-in fasteners. The old mirror just unplugged and the new one plugged right in with no problem. Re-tighten the 3 bolts, snap the door panel back on and tighten the one screw and it was ready to go again.

I believe that it will not run because of the knock sensor. This sensor will enable the engine from running if it senses an unfixable and potentually dangerous "knock". Basically preventing the engine from "blowing up".

On my 99 Silhouette, you open the hatch door, there is a half, to 3/4 circle that the tool from the jack fits in. Turn it, and the tire will come down. Depending on where you live, it might be rusty and sticky, so it won't want to come down very easy.

no you don't if you know how to do it right but if you want to do it with out a struggle then it would be best to do it that way

its behind the power steering pump assembly pretty much right between the upper plenum and the back side of the pump. it sits straight out off of the fuel rail hard to get to but you can get a tester on it

Valves probably need to be readjusted back to spec. Get a service manual for your vehicle to look up the procedure for doing this. Generally just need basic tools and a feeler gauge.

Funny, I need one too and never done one though all my friends are mechanics and I`m told you have to raise the engine supporting it at the oil pan with a piece of plywood the same size as the oil pan , but you have to have the auto up "on a lift" in order to get at them. I`m gonna have a mechanic do mine. They are really in a tight spot to do any of them let say in your yard . Today I got up under there and did not like what 'I saw "tight quarters" Were best to have them done for around $100.00 buckaroos, seeing they only cost $20.00 and I could do them cause I`m a backyard mech, but this job needs a lift, sorry not more info for ya!

This is not recommended in most cases. The seats are designed withstand the tremendous forces from a car collision. Each seat and seat belt combination is designed for a specific location in the car. Changing these positions or adding non-standard seating interferes with the safety of you passengers sitting in non-standard seats. Even if a new seat fits into the floor anchors, the different weight and position of passengers may cause the new seats to fail unexpectedly in a crash.

It's in the intake near the throttle body and EGR.

Follow the upper radiator hose to it's end away from the radiator. Remove hose from thermostat housing. Stick finger in hold to feel thermostat. Remove 2 bolts if replacing thermostat.

Fuel capacity depends on the length of the van. The standard length van fuel capacity is about 20 gallons and if you have an "extended" version the fuel capacity is 25 gallons.

I had taken my 2000 Silhouette in for other problems and since I had it in the shop, I asked about the lamps on the overhead console and on the steering wheel remotes for the radio. They told me that the lamps are not replaceable, but the whole switch has to bed replaced. I thought that this was quite a bummer.

you have to remove the whole headlamp assembly to get to the turn signal bulb pull the headlight assembly straight out it is fairly easy

There are two wing nuts on top of the unit that must be removed.

On the 3.8 litre engine its located on the forward side under the harmonic balancer. You need to pull the balancer to replace the sensor. The magnetic pick-up on the sensor rides in the stainless steel stotted track on the rear of the balancer.

The blower resistor is UNDER the maxifuse center on the engine firewall. The maxifuse center needs to be removed with 2 bolts and the resistor is in the top of the blower heater assembly held in place with 4 screws. Difficult to get to but can be done.

The turn signal flasher relay is located under the dash on the driver's side. It can be accessed by removing the lower cover beneath the steering wheel. When you look up underneath the dash, the relay will be a small (~1"x1") cylindrical can in a clip to the right of the steering wheel (that is, between steering wheel and driver's door), near the emergency brake lever. There is a two wire plug that attaches to it. When replacing the relay, I would suggest plugging in the two wire plug before snapping the relay back into the metal clip. As a note, the hazard flasher relay is under the dash on the passenger side, and it plugs into the "convenience" center with other circuit breakers and relays.

Unzip the armrest cover and pull forward. You will the see the bolt that holds the armrest onto the seat.

Gm had a recall on this. Take it to a dealer to do it for free.

80 to 85 ft lbs 80 to 85 ft lbs torque to 40 first starting at center and stagger tightening bolts side to side ,each bolt till you reach the outer ones then tighten to 80 to 85

To turn off "change oil" light:

# Turn off car. # Turn key to "on"; do not start it, just turn to "on" position. # Firmly depress accelerator three times, pausing for a second after each pump. # After 3 to 5 seconds, "change oil" light will flash and then turn off. # must depress gas pedal 3 times inside of 5 seconds, should hear a chime and the light will reset. This is found in the owners manual

First remove wheel and brake caliper and rotor.

Unplug wheel speed sensor wire.

Remove axle nut.

Remove three 1/2 inch head bolts from back side of spindle.

Gently tap hub to remove hub/bearing assy. from spindle.

Installation is the reverse.
