Peugeot 206

This is due to the cold weather that is typically experienced in the winter months. Water gets into small cracks in the road. When water freezes, it expands, causing the crack to widen. More water fills the new crack, freezes and widens it further. This cycle of freezing/melting/filling is what causes the damage to the roads.

Depends on model of car, speed/loading, tyre make, and size.

Try 2.4bar front and back (35psi).

This information is in the Drivers Handbook or on a Garage forecourt (not petrol station!).

There is usually a label attached inside one of the car door frames, with just this information on it.

this is for a peugeot 306 made in 1999 (phase 3):

to do this you need to remove the long plastic bit that surrounds the handbrake and the gear stick. When you've done this you'll be able to get access to the adjuster nut on the bracket with the handbrake cable riunning through round the back of the handbrake.

1) remove the rear ashtray.

2) remove the two screws (which have torx screw heads) that can be seen in where the ashtray came out from. (they're holding some of the plastic bit down.

3) remove the gearstick gaitor. do this by using a spade head screwdiver or an old credit card to lever the gaitor upwards, working around the edges.

4 )remove the 2 nuts that hold the platic bit down that are under where the gaitor was(1omm nuts)

5)the long plastic bit can now be removed. pull it upwards to let it over the two bolts at the gearstick, and backwards to remove it off the plastic tabs at the front.

Adjusting the adjuster nut (13mm):

it's probably easiest to get to this sat in the back of the car.

1) locate the adjuster nut at the back of the handbrake under the grey foam stuff.

2) take off the handbrake. (Make sure your car isn't going to role anywhere/ chock your wheels/get someone to step on the foot brake.

3)turn the nut clockwise to tighten the handbrake. You want to get the handbrake to be fully on at somewhere between 6 to ten clicks when you pull it up.

1) put it all back to together.

there is a wire and plug jus under your glovebox in the pasenger side footwell. if you plug that back in the lights will work properly again.

20nm followed by 240 degrees

personally i prefer 20nm then 2x 120 degrees to take the head bolts down nice and easy

There is an oil level plug near to where the left hand drive shaft enters the gearbox. It is quite difficult to get at. I think that a 13mm spanner is the correct size for it.

The 1.4 is a single line 4 cylinder diesel. It will have only one cam belt.

I would replce at about 4mm to keep the pad from comming off the backing plate and causing damage.

the timing marks are on the top of the gearbox,near the engine,under a small cover or grommet. MICK [THEY ARE ON THE THE FLYWHEEL?]NEAR THE "TEETH"

probably the switch stuck on. pull out fuse in mean time

2003 model: Between the gearbox and engine there is a lightweight plastic cover (black). It faces out to the front of the car and looks like the standard sealing 3 pin connector is just "parked" there. Have fun!

check the electrical plug that is found in the passenger footwell just below the glove box is pushed in as it can sometimes accidentally be knocked, it is connected to a wire, to make sure its connected correctly

Any brand of 10W-40 synthetic oil is suitable for the Peugeot 206 1.4 petrol engine. Peugeot is an automobile company that was founded in 1810.

If you do the job yourself about £150 including skim and pressure test. If you go to a garage anywhere from £300 to £450.....

The fuse diagram can be found on the inside cover of the fuse box. A fuse diagram can be obtained from most auto-parts stores.

you need a gauge to check the PSI while charging...the parts store has a new kit called "A/C recharging for DUMMIES" and comes with a gauge, hose, and freon and most importantly a book... a manual will help with diagnosis and repair, and a shop manual should be available at the local library in the reference section for FREE, make copies of the right pages, good luck...:)

on right hand side under drivers footwell there,s a black lever, you have to pull it towards you and you will feel it and hear it pop open. i just sold mine after 3yrs of ownership

ECU defekt.

You take a flat head screwdriver and pry open the clock from the bottom. Make sure to have a piece of tape or I used a piece of cardboard (so as not to marr the dashboard surface). Pry it open then replace the bulb in the back of the clock housing. Then just snap it back into place.

the best oil for a pug 206 is castrol magnstec 10w-40 a3/b3. top price but top oil for this car

UK right-hand-drive. Small screwdriver and pull off front indicator. Use a long screwdriver and nudge the bonnet lock to release. It may make the job easier if you lever off the 7 spring clips holding the headlight glass, then pull off the reflector which holds the bulbs. Remove the black left-hand 4" circular black plastic cap and this will let you inside the engine bay and just grab the remainder of the cable to release the bonnet.
