1998 Pontiac grand prix Blower motor location?

Its located under your glove compartment on the passangers side of the car. You will have to remove the grey piece being held in by 3 plastic fasteners. Its the piece with the light for the passanger flour board in it. after you get that out you will see the bottom of the blower motor. You will have to remove 3 screws, a wire plug and a rubber hose that just pulls off to get it out. Hope this helps. This is not an easy job at all, especially if you are a tall person. It requires you to be pretty contorted to get the old blower out. You should proabably go ahead and replace the resistor pack that is mounted in the bottom of the ductwork directly behind the blower. I recently did that and found that not only was the blower bad, but the resistor pack was fried. If you have to go buy both, go to a place like Advanced Auto or Auto Zone. Stay away from the dealers for these parts. I paid $130 total for the blower and the resistor pack. My local GM dealer quoted me $280 just for the blower motor!

How do you change an ignition coil on a 1994 Pontiac Bonneville?

Hi, mark here. just did one myself. On left side of engine you will find a bank of 3 coils that have spark plug wires on top of them. On each side you will find a screw that needs a 5mm socket to remove each coil. I found the 1st coil is probably bad on most 3.8 v6's that have a rough idle. For some reason this one goes out before the rest do. About 27.00 each to replace. Don't buy all three unless you just want to. buy one and try each one until you find bad coil. I did now car runs like a rocket again. Don't be afraid to buy used parts from salvage yard. It will help you out in a jam for a lot less money. Also you can try different things if no one can figure out whats wrong. Also autozone will do a free check on computer to try and tell you whats wrong with car. Hope this helps

What does super mean?

Does the 1998 Pontiac Bonneville have an idle control valve?

Yes, the 1998 Pontiac Mid-size Bonneville with the 3.8L V6 engine does have an idle control valve. The OEM part # is 17112929. Aftermarket brands will cost around $40-60. It's a small part, usually located on the throttle body. Two bolts to mount, and it's got a 4-pin electrical connector.

Why is the supercharger's boost gauge on your 2001 Bonneville SSE reading negative ten psi instead of 0 psi when the car is on?

Unless you are accelerating rapidly the engine should have a vaccum (negative boost). All gasoline engines have vaccum during normal operation, this is how the engine rpm is controlled. The throttle only allows a small amount of air to pass into the engine (less than what the engine would draw in naturally) pushing the gas pedal down opens the throttle more allowing more air to pass and thus less vaccum, or positive pressure (boost) on a supercharged or turbocharged engine.

Where is the location of the mass airflow sensor on a 1990 Pontiac Bonneville?

Price this part out at any GM dealer and ask them to print out a picture of the part which will show you the location of it on your engine. This is a free service. Mark

How do you replace a headlight bulb on a 2000 Bonneville?

If you open the hood of the car - you can remove the bulb from the light unit. It is a bit tough because there is not much room. Find where the bulb enters the light unit and twist it about 1/4 turn and it will come out. Find the replacement bulb (I suggest taking the old one with you) to the auto parts store. I think they are about $7.00 each.

How do you find and replace a shorted and burnt lead to an alternator on a 1990 Pontiac Bonneville with 3800 engine caused by replacing without disconnecting battery?

Most of the time you burn the fuseable link when this happens. The majority of the time this is bolted to the positive post of the starter. There will be a large wire that leads directly to the battery, then at least one more bolted to the same post, one of which leads to the alternator. It is possible to replace the burned section, check the parts store for a replacement fuseable link.

What will a bad harmonic balancer cause?

It can cause a vibration at different RPMs. If it is wobbling around on the crankshaft it could cause damage to the crankshaft's snout. And a worst case scenario overtime a faulty balancer could break a crankshaft.

How do you replace a power steering pump on a 1987 Chevy G20 van with a 305?

Does your van have the serpentine belt? If so maybe I can help, I replaced the Power steering pump on my 90 G20 a couple of weeks ago.

The trick is that you need to pull the pump pulley which is pressed on to access the mounting bolts which attach the pump to the engine.

Harbor Freight tools sells a great tool designed for this job for $20.00.

Once you have the correct tools, remove the serpentine drive belt. You may also need to remove the fan shroud.

the pump shaft looks like it has an Allen socket in the center, but this is for use in the manufacturing process, and will not come out.

Place the puller tool on the pulley following the instruction that come with the tool, and remove the pulley.

loosen, but do not remove the nut on the high pressure hose connection.

use a pair of dyke pliers to cut and remove the crimp clamp on the low pressure hose.

If your pump has the remote reservour loosen the clamp on the reservour hose also.

Remove the three mounting bolts, place a large pan under the pump to catch drips, and remove the prevously loosened hoses. there will be fluid leaking all over and the pump should come free,

There are two types of replacement pump sold. With and without reservour. This reservour is a metal cover that fits over the back of the pump, and should not be confused with the reomte revervour found on some newer models which is next to the battery.

This reservour is held in place be two throught the pump bolts which are removed at the back of the pump. If your new pump has a reservour you will probably still need to remove these bolts and put them in the replacement pump as most are shiped without these bolts.

If you replacement pump comes without a reservour pull the bolts, the reservour should pull off of the old pump and slide onto the new one. check the o rings and replace the through the pump bolts.

Installation is the reverse of removal execpt that 1/2" hose clamps replace the crimp clamps on the low pressure hose, and the puller tool is set up differently to replace the pulley.

Finally if you don't flush contaminants out of the system your repair will last maybe a week. www.cardone.com has a great article about power steering flushing, read it before you start

Good luck

Your 2002 Bonneville runs steady at 200 degrees is that normal?

this is normal for this engine, in fact anything short will trip a check engine light. the cause will be a low coolant condition, a thermostat stuck in the open position or a bad coolant sensor. this is normal for this engine, in fact anything short will trip a check engine light. the cause will be a low coolant condition, a thermostat stuck in the open position or a bad coolant sensor.

How do you remove and replace a power steering pump and reservoir for a 1998 Chevy S10?

I am going to answer this question as if you have the 4.3 Liter V6. The 2.2 will have a similar process but may require less disassembly. You will need to remove the top fan housing, remove serpentine belt, then unbolt the a/c compressor and set it to the side. Now remove the 4 bolts on the back of the fan itself to free the fan from the fan clutch. This will give you enough room to remove the rest of the components. Now you will need a pully puller to remove the pulley from the power steering pump. After you do this, you can unbolt and remove the steel piece that held the a/c compressor and power steering pump together. The power steering pump should be visible now. There are 2 bolts on the back of the pump that are somewhat difficult to get to (ratcheting box-end wrenches work great) that will free the pump. Now there are 2 hoses to remove, one is screwed into the back while the other is simply clamped on. You probably want an oil pan under the vehicle before you remove these since power steering fluid will spill out. Now if you purchased a new power steering pump w/ housing you can now swap them out and reassemble everything in the reverse order. If you have a power steering pump w/o a housing, you have to transfer the housing to the new pump. To do this, you will need to remove 2 stud/bolts from the back. Now you will probably need a vice to pull the old pump out of the housing because there is a rubber seal holding it in. Make sure all new gaskets are in place before reassembly. It's a good idea to at least partially fill the reservoir with power steering fluid before you start putting everything back together. This way you can check for leaks while the hoses are still accessible. Good luck.

Turn signal won't flash on 2001 Bonneville?

The left turn signal on my 01 Bonneville would not turn on but it would flash when i put on the turn signal. When I removed the light bulb to replace it I found the connector was corroded and rusting so that could be your problem if not then you just might need to buy new wires. Heres the link:
