Park the vehicle on a level surface. Drain the oil and change the filter. Add 4 quarts of the correct weight oil. Start the engine and let it run for 1 minute. Shut down and wait 30 minutes. Check the oil level and add as necessary to fill to the full mark. You now know the capacity.

All Trans Ams through 81 come with a posi rear. It was part of the T/A package. It may be high gears, but it'll be a posi.

They are a sealed beam style headlight. Make sure you have the correct model. Remove the trim around the light by taking the four screw out two on top and two on the bottom behind the bumper. Remove the four screw holding the headlight retainer ring in place. Pull the headlight out. Remove the wire connection by holding the clip down and pulling. Reverse the order to put it back in. Take note not to adjust the two longer screws that adjust the angle of the light.

The only fuse box i know of on the 91 Firebird is located under the dash Above your left leg.

I am not sdure if that is the same for all engine sizes and models.

But i do know for a fact its located there on a V6 3.1ltr.

Theres probably a door on it that's why you cant see it..I am assuming you looked..lol.

If there isn't a cover on the fuse box then the fuses should be exposed.

The 1995 Pontiac Firebird V-6 engine oil pump is located on the bottom of the engine. The oil pan will need to be removed in order to see the oil pump.

It is inside the panel under steering wheel column. You have to remove the panel, it has two screws. turn signal flasher is on right side clipped to metal brace, the emergency flasher is on the left side attached the same way. Not hard to replace, just not much room to work.

Remove the wiring from the top of the EGR then unbolt it at the bottom of the EGR system.

You may need to replace the gasket after replacing the EGR itself

This is a fairly involved process. There's a lot to do....especially to remove it and put it back correctly. If you don't know how to do it, I'd recommend getting a good shop manual. They sell them on eBay and other sites. This will give you clear pictures of what to take off and how to put it back together.

You will have the large bolts and nuts that mount it to the frame. Those are simple a easily found. However, there are also two small nuts on each side. On the rear they hold the bumper end to the quarter panel. On the front, they mount it to the fender. They are a little difficult to get to, but they do have to come out.

follow the upper radiator hose to the thermostat housing and remove the 2 or 3 bolts holding it on and make sure you scrape off the gasket because if you dont and you put the new gasket on it will give yo u a world of trouble

Coolant flows into the water pump thru the bottom radiator hose, into the block from the water pump, up into the heads, and then to the intake crossover (or heater core from the back pass side head), then back to the radiator via the top hose. Coolant from the heater core is returned to the water pump not to the radiator.

the power control module is located on the passanger side of the car above the plate where the carpet meets the dash.

Mine used to used up at idle. I changed the coolant but it kept doing it. I am pretty sure it was the thermostat. The best internet advice is that it is probably your thermostat. You can roll the dice and change it out youself or go to a good mechanic and he'll tell you for sure what is wrong.

My 1992 Fire Bird has a 305 throttle body fuel injected.

Most likely wore piston rings or valve seals.

Answer 2: It's really common it's a leaking/cracked head gasket. White smoke is often caused by coolant entering the combustion chamber. So check ur coolant levels and even smell the smoke to see if it smells like evapourated coolant (a dirty water sort of smell).

I have the v6 and it is difficult to do. You have to get 3 of the plugs from underneath the car and you will also need extensions and a swivel-joint . Good luck, it's a tough job! If I wasn't so cheap I'd send it to the shop. LOL.

You can rock the engine forward by unhooking the straps and pulling the engine forward with a rope or cable, or by putting a board on top of a floor jack and lifting the oil pan a little bit. Do either of these and Bob's your uncle!

Improving on the first answer... It's easier than it looks but like the first guy said you will NEED a swivel joint extention, also called a unviversal or U-joint as well as one or two short extentions. If you have a shortie (short handle) rachet, it comes in handy!! Plugs for cylinders 3,5 and 6 must be accessed from under the car, 1, 2 and 4 can be reached from under the hood, though it certainly helps to have someone under the car that can see the plugs and help direct you, especially on cylinder 4. Heres a diagram for those unfamiliar with cylinder numbering, hope this was helpful.
