How do you reset your abs and trac off light after abs unist are replaced?
It is more question than the answer. I have ABS light on all time and turn off light on also all time (talking about ther ABS brake system on Chevy impala 2001 ls 3.8.
I drive ok and brakes are ok. But light stays on makes me nervious all time. Someone said cut them to the hell! But I want to cut them off by right way: to understand why light on and how to stop the problem.
Pads are new? everything ok and there isn't any wrong in brakes working. Others say something here is dirty I need to clean for contacts. Other also say a unit ABS computer ar center.

P1416 refers to a problem in the exhaust system which is, unfortunately, very difficult to track down. Depending on who you talk to about it, you can do nothing and never have a problem or you can do nothing and it can ultimately lead to a problem with the catalytic converter. Damned if you do and damned if you don't.
We also had this problem on our 1999 Grand Prix...it could be your moon roof drain tube as well that come out in your door jam on both sides. Ours was on the passenger side and it got dirt down in there and we had it blown out. No more leaks.
AnswerI had this problem with my 2001 Grand Prix. The windshield was replaced before I bought it and whoever installed it didn't put the cover over the air intake for the HVAC. The intake on mine is under the grill directly under the windshield on the passenger side. The water would run straight down into the intake and drain out by the fan and lower vents. This fried my resistor block (located in the blower housing). You should be able to find another cover in a junk yard. I made a temporary cover using a peice of tarp and caulking to make sure that any water that drained down would flow past the intake. ANSWERI just recently had this problem with my 1998 grand prix gt, i had the same problem as the first post answer, the little rubber strip above the heater was moved over about an inch, so i moved it back and put black caulking underneath so it would not move again.. i still had a leak somewhere.. so i ran a bead of black caulking along the plastic shroud that's underneath the whiper blades, beginning at the start of it, and ran it to the middle of the shroud, almost to where the red blinking security light is on your dash.. my floor since has been drying up nicely..Sometimes the drainage holes in the firewall get clogged check those

The next way " more expensive " is to buy a hood or put vents in the stock hood and run that way. How do you install a heater hose fitting on 2004 Pontiac grand prix gt?
First remove the resovoir tank to have more space. Remove drive belt. Two top bolts and 1 side bolt to remove alternator plus connections( power and ground). Then 3 remove 3 bolts from tensioner housing and remove. Should come out with heater hose fittings. Be careful the fittings could break in manifold. Finally replace fittings and reinstall housing, bolts,alternator w/ connections, drive belt and reservoir tank. Used Dorman heater hose fittings # 47065 from local autoparts store autozone/ oreilly's have replaced them 6 times in past year. 6th was 2 days ago.keep blowing out... its true practice makes perfect. Wrote this in 5 mins!
